Candy Hill Campground, Winchester, Virginia

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

Have to get off I-81 S at exit 317 and turn onto Rt 37 for about 4 miles then turn right onto US 50 and make sure you get all the way over to the left hand turning lane at the red light otherwise you have to go down and turn around to turn onto Ward Ave. Didn't like the wi-fi as you had to set up an acct to even use it for the allowed free time. Didn't use it as they wanted too much info. We camped at Candy Hill Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Just pay attention to making that right turn from Rt 37 onto US 50 and get all the way over to the left hand turning lane at that red light to turn onto Ward Ave.. when leaving to get back to I-81 S stay in the right hand lane after making your right hand turn from Ward and the next red light takes you back onto Rt 37 which take you to I-81...when you see the signs for I-81 be aware of traffic as there will be 2 merging lanes on your right

Butternut Hill RV Camping, Bouckville, New York

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

We were here for 10 days...it was great, nice level lot, easy to get around...all back in spots with gravel , picnic table and fire pit. The wi-fi was free no cable but we got good reception on the TV antenna...very nice folks and he will come dump you whenever you need it for free. Puts a large trash can out by rig so you don't have to figure out where to put your trash. It is not off any interstate so unless you happen to be in the area you would not know it was there. We will go back again the next time we visit my brother. We camped at Butternut Hill RV Camping in a Motorhome.

Lee Hi Campground, Lexington, Virginia

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Nice overnight camp site at the Travel Center of America truck stop right off I-81 North...it was level site FHP...no cable, but we didn't have any problem with our antenna on rig. Easy pull thru, right behind truck stop and into the campground area ...we did not hear any noises from the truck during the night. We would stay again when traveling. We camped at Lee Hi Campground in a Motorhome.

Easy on and off I-40 exit 20. We stayed there 2 nights, cost to me was a little high, but the site we had was great, nice and level, full hook up and we pulled right in. No Good Sam discount. We would got back to spend time in the mountains. Site was big enough. We camped at Winngray Family Campground in a Motorhome.

Three Springs Campground, Corinth, Kentucky

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

We chose this park to be able to visit the Ark Encounter. There is no cable, sewer or wi-fi. Not many campground around this area and by others review this was the best we could fine for big rig. I would not recommend this for big rigs, the road leading to the campground is very narrow and if you meet another car on the road, there is no where to pull over to allow them by. It's not really convenience to use the dump station when you pull out. One way in and one way out. We stayed there 4 nights, they charge $35 for Sun - Thur and then goes up $38 for Sat and Sun, why I don't know as you get nothing extra. You get a discount if you go to the Ark. I do think they give a discount for Good Sam too. When you pull up in front of the office you wonder if it is even open, I think they are trying to fix it up, but have a long ways to go. It's a pretty valley, but very damp. The main office has a smell of mold when you go inside and what they call the pavilion needs lots of work. I don't see us going back there. We camped at Three Springs Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The Ark Encounter exit 154 is a must do, go back down to exit 126 and you will have shopping areas, other then that bring your food and something to read...TV signal is not very good. I say poor road conditions only because if you don't stay on the gravel you might get stuck because it is very wet around the sites. Good place for small travel trailers or small rigs...big rigs not so good.

Volunteer Park Family Campground, Heiskell, Tennessee

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed one night on our way to KY. Easy on and off from I-75. Lots of permanent campers. Site was adequate for what we needed. Office man was nice. You take yourself to your site. Some trash in fire ring. Roadways were somewhat tight and we had to disconnect to park our tow so others could get through. All in all it was ok for one night. We camped at Volunteer Park Family Campground in a Motorhome.

Johnny's Lakeside RV Resort , Foley, Alabama

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

We were there for the AL Good Sam Rally for that week and that is why we got the rate we did. It'a clean park, with all cement pads, has a dog run, pools, laundry room and sandwich bar. However the sites are very close together and if your not good at backing into a site you will have problems. Has several full time folks in most of the pull through sites. The park is kept up nicely, no junk laying around even at the full time peoples campers. It is close to everything, shopping, food and touring Mobile, AL and Pensacola, FL. We camped at Johnny's Lakeside RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Take in the NAS Museum at the base in Pensacola, FL ride the scenic roads of Hwy 90/98..pretty country. Take a ferry ride from Foley to Mobile. Eat at the "Throwedroll" they throw rolls at you, the food was good and got plenty of food for the price. There's a business just down from the campground where you can buy some fabrics by the pound. they have a big selection of quilting material.

Crossing Creeks RV Resort (formerly Mountain View RV Resort), Blairsville, Georgia

Date of Stay: December, 2015 - $65.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here 3 nights, had the park mostly to ourselves. It's just getting started and they give no discounts to anyone, which surprised me as I was directed to them through FMCA. The sites were all cement, but the cable was not easy to hook up. they gave us a box to plug into our TV, but ours are mounted inside and therefore we can't get to the plug, had to run the cable through one of out windows. they are selling lots, people are friendly, but probably won't go back because of the cost. No one in the office on week-ends so we weren't sure where to leave the cable box when we left, no tables or fire ring..do offer a clubhouse. We camped at Crossing Creeks RV Resort (formerly Mountain View RV Resort) in a Motorhome.

Aquia Pines Camp Resort, Stafford, Virginia

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $65.00
Overall Rating:

This resort is on the side of a mountain. It was hard to level the RV. Water pressure was low. The pull-through we had was long enough for our RV plus truck. Not very friendly when we checked in and didn't give us any paperwork as to what the park had to offer. No dog run. They need to trim some of the bushes. Should not be called a resort. Price was too high for what the park looked like. Don't look to go back there again. We camped at Aquia Pines Camp Resort in a Motorhome.
