Wilderness Campground, Montello, Wisconsin

Date of Stay: September, 2006 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

Normally I camp in more secluded campgrounds, and I was a little in shock with how non-secluded the sites were. Even though it was a holiday weekend, it was not too loud. They did seem to be having septic issues- the restrooms and laundry facilities were closed several times while they pumped the system out We camped at Wilderness Campground in a Tent Trailer.

Nrn Highland American Lgn State Forest, Crystal Lake Area Campgrounds, Boulder Junction, Wisconsin

Date of Stay: July, 2006 - $12.00
Overall Rating:

An annual campground for me, even though there are no hookups available (1 handicap site has electric & water). Arrived on a friday night and was able to camp on a site which was not reserved for that evening and moved to a first-come site the next morning. The ReserveAmerica farce of a system is getting better- but still leaves much to be desired. Even though the state laws were changed, the ranger would not let us camp on a vacated first-come site. We camped at Nrn Highland American Lgn State Forest, Crystal Lake Area Campgrounds in a Tent Trailer.

Scheduled my family for a 2 day stay as a step around Lake Superior. I will go back here for a longer period next year to do some more exploration of the miles of trails. We camped at Jay Cooke State Park in a Tent Trailer.
