Our Friends Campground, Lampasas, Texas

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for 2 months - April & May 2016. The laundry is good and reasonable. The driver side of our site was a little close to the next site but was spacious with a large oak tree on the passenger side. Water pressure was good. Not many sites can handle a big rig if you exclude the pull through sites which have no real shade trees. The statement of Free WiFi is true but if you really want to connect to the internet, be prepared to provide your own. The WiFi provided is not stable and was constantly up and down. We camped at Our Friends Campground in a Motorhome.

Pellicer Creek Campground, St Augustine, Florida

Date of Stay: January, 2016 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

We came here on November 1, 2015 and will be here until March 31, 2016. The WiFi is excellent as is the provided DirecTV with 169 channels. Many people spend the winter here so reservations are highly recommended. A dock is provided on the creek for fishing. The owner and camp hosts, as well as other campers, are friendly and helpful. We camped at Pellicer Creek Campground in a Motorhome.

Wagon Train RV Park, Canton, Texas

Date of Stay: May, 2015 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here 4 nights for the Canton First Monday Trade Days. The staff and owners were extremely friendly and helpful. The sites are mostly gravel pull through. I had no problem getting into my site - plenty of room to maneuver. They are level. All I had to do was put the jacks down. Plenty of grassy space between sites. We camped at Wagon Train RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Canton First Monday Trade Days. Short distance to Tyler for shopping. Found some good places to eat in Canton. Buttermilk's in downtown is a small cafe with maybe 12 tables - excellent food and service. Bakers Ribs on IH20 - excellent BBQ and fresh made fried pies.

OK RV Park, Holbrook, Arizona

Date of Stay: October, 2014 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

This was an overnight stop between Aztec, NM and Apache Junction, AZ. The park has long gravel pull through sites with concrete patios. The sites are fairly narrow but no one was parked next to us so it was no problem. If you are a light sleeper, this may not be the park for you. You can hear trains all night although they are in the distant. Also can hear some noise from the Interstate in the distant. My wife and I slept well because such noise does not bother us. The WiFi worked well. The staff is very friendly and helpful. If we are passing through the area we would stay here again. We camped at OK RV Park in a Motorhome.

Ruins Road RV Park & Campground, Aztec, New Mexico

Date of Stay: October, 2014 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

Good central location for Aztec Ruins National Monument, Chaco Canyon, Durango and the San Juan River. Cell phone service here is good but WiFi was very "iffy" - network was up and down constantly. The Animas River borders the property and is a nice area to walk our dog. The owners of the park were friendly and escort you to your site. They do not have the spacious sites you might find in other parks but that is reflected in the price. Overall this was a very comfortable place to stay while fishing the San Juan River. We camped at Ruins Road RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

American RV Resort, Albuquerque, New Mexico

Date of Stay: September, 2014 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Wonderful park. Wide paved streets and level concrete parking. Spacious sites. Staff escorts you to your space, gets you properly parked and makes sure you are comfortable with hookups. Continental breakfast each morning was good and very busy. Newly remodeled dog run was excellent. Entire staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We camped at American RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Deer Springs RV Park, Mayhill, New Mexico

Date of Stay: June, 2014 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here from June 27 through September 27. We had intended to stay one month but a short time after we arrived, we decided we would like to stay longer. This park is usually booked well in advance but luckily someone canceled for the months of August and September. Beautiful setting with spacious, well cared for sites. Friendly campers make you feel like you are old friends. Cell phone service here is weak to nonexistent. Wi-Fi is provided but bandwidth is limited. We camped at Deer Springs RV Park in a Motorhome.

Loop 289 RV Park, Lubbock, Texas

Date of Stay: June, 2014 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed in this park the month of June while in Lubbock on family business. We found the park clean and reasonably quiet - some noise from the Loop but not really that noticeable. WiFi service was excellent while we were here. The staff was very friendly and worked hard to maintain the grounds. A word of caution if you are in a motor home - if you are low on propane, have it filled before you get here. Pinnacle Propane is listed in the park brochure as being in the park on Tuesday and Thursday. We called Pinnacle 3 times and were promised they would be there - never happened. We camped at Loop 289 RV Park in a Motorhome.

Deer Springs RV Park, Mayhill, New Mexico

Date of Stay: June, 2014 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

What can I say? Beautiful park in the mountains with deer and hummingbirds. The sites are level, well maintained and most are well shaded. Sites 10, 20 and 30 are the ones I got the best look at and they were very nice. The owners are great people. In the summer and through Labor Day, make reservations early. The owners told me that September and October are their best months for weather but most people are gone after Labor Day. We just missed the Elk in the campground in early June but they should be back in the fall. We camped at Deer Springs RV Park in a Motorhome.
