Evergreen Park, Dundee, Ohio

Date of Stay: April, 2016 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

For early spring, the entire park was beautiful. Little early for the flower gardens, but that's no big deal, the sites and yards were in excellent shape. The facilities were spotless as usual and the office/store was well stocked. Just be prepared for the slope of the sites on the 17 to 26 strip, they have a rear to front slope. They are level left to right but don't be shocked by the grade, bring a couple extra blocks and you'll be fine. We camped at Evergreen Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

If you've never been there before, pick up several of the local Amish Country maps in the office. Ask the desk staff about favorite places to go and which route is shorter to your first destination.

Updated "weekend sites" with larger, level concrete pads, general landscaping upgraded, most seasonal sites in great condition, fully stocked camp store, large wood fired boiler type heating for the near Large pool, adding considerable new section onto park, promises to be very nice next season or so... We camped at Shenango Valley RV Park in a Motorhome.

Gaslight Campground, Emlenton, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: July, 2014 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Large park, newly added sites are nice sized. First impressions are always lasting; upon arrival the entrance displays the overall health of the park--unkempt. This park was described to me at another campground, by a local camper, as having been a great place 20 years ago, but it currently is in need of much work. Simply cutting the grass, trimming, weeding and cleaning up the flower beds, a coat of paint on all buildings would be a start. The general condition is simply run down. Camp store is virtually non-existent. It is a great location, easily accessible, right off of I-80, fuel at a large station big enough for large RVs. Park has huge potential but not in its current state. We camped at Gaslight Campground in a Motorhome.

Shenango Valley RV Park, Transfer, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: June, 2014 - $59.00
Overall Rating:

Well designed and operated campground. Huge, warm pool. Even though this campground is located in rolling hills, the streets and sites are well designed and pretty level. Most "weekend" sites are shaded. Well stocked camp store. Downside: Verizon coverage is nearly non-existent, and they have recently changed to a new Wi-Fi provider for the entire campground. From an IT professional's view, they were sold a pig in a poke. It worked OK when there were limited users in the park but when all the seasonals show up the service degrades to neatly nonexistent. They should get their current provider to do load testing ON WEEKENDS to provide accurate load data to properly size the system. With a properly sized system, they should be capable of providing unlimited Internet access instead of their current one user per site allowance. Great place, nice staff, and they work hard at keeping the place nice. We camped at Shenango Valley RV Park in a Motorhome.
