Tilly's American Travelers RV Resort, Oronoco, Minnesota

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for 3 weeks while visiting family. There is no on-site host, fill out the form and slide your money or credit card information (disconcerting) under the door. The park had several long term residents with several children playing in the afternoon (a concern while driving very large pickup) but well behaved and not bothersome. Too few picnic tables to go around, no shade. Lots of highway noise quieted down at night. Tilly's Bar and Grill right next door has great food. The site we picked ended up being the low spot and we had 3" of rain at our door step after a heavy rain. Wi-fi (a Belkin home router) was typically insufficient. We camped at Tilly's American Travelers RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Crazy Horse RV Park, Tucson, Arizona

Date of Stay: January, 2015 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

An older but suitable park; gravel drives and pads (what isn't gravel in this part of the country). It was very quiet, no train tracks or highway noise. Our pull-thru site was nice and wide and plenty long. We camped at Crazy Horse RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

We spent an afternoon at the Tucson Botanical Garden and had a great time. It is one of the best I've ever visited with most plants well labeled displaying that wonderful variety of plants of the Chihuahuan desert.

Desert Paradise RV Resort, Yuma, Arizona

Date of Stay: December, 2014 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Staff were nice but we were too busy to take advantage of any amenities. The trains were blessedly quiet at this location, just a rumble in the distance rather than whistles at all hours. We camped at Desert Paradise RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Rio Bend RV & Golf Resort, El Centro, California

Date of Stay: December, 2014 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

This park was a little further away from the bird watching than was ideal but we would stay here again; the staff were friendly and the price was right. The parking slots and roads are a bit narrow and it would have taken quite a bit of futzing to get our trailer in were it not for being at the end of a cross street. It is older but well maintained and the common areas were neat and clean. The dining area was freezing the one morning we took advantage of breakfast. The golf course might look easy on the score card but elevation changes make this a suitably challenging 9 holes for the average golfer. We camped at Rio Bend RV & Golf Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Butterfield RV Resort & Observatory, Benson, Arizona

Date of Stay: December, 2014 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This park has nice paved roads and parking pads. The community building was nice and the restrooms very clean. My only minor complaint is that the parking pad had such a hump in that we had to borrow some blocks and board to build another step to avoid an 18" step getting in and out of our unit. Oh, there were those train whistles too; after the first dozen or so they didn't bother us and we did sleep through the noise. We camped at Butterfield RV Resort & Observatory in a Fifth Wheel.

Glen Ivy RV Park, Corona, California

Date of Stay: December, 2014 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

This park has residents packed in like cord wood with extremely little room between each unit. Most units were permanent residents with related items scattered throughout their minuscule piece of land. Our space had no place to park our truck and ended up with having to go find a security guard to deal with the angry permanent resident next door the very first night. The lot was so narrow there was insufficient room to extend our awning without banging into the awning of the unit next to us. We stayed here because it was close to where family live but we will NEVER stay here again. We camped at Glen Ivy RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Meteor Crater RV Park, Winslow, Arizona

Date of Stay: July, 2014 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Restroom facilities are squeaky clean! Staff are attentive to the small things; water truck driving around just before 'rush hour' wetting down the drives to keep dust down and escorting later arrivals to their assigned sites. Larger trees would be nice but it is a desert after all. We camped at Meteor Crater RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Kit Carson RV Park, Flagstaff, Arizona

Date of Stay: July, 2014 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

While having lots of trees this RV park also has lots of permanent residents and filthy restrooms and showers. The advertised WiFi was either nonexistent or non-functional. The attitude of staff, when I could find them, left a lot to be desired; I would expect not to be treated like a pain-in-the-neck. We camped at Kit Carson RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
