Taos Monte Bello RV Park, Taos, New Mexico

Date of Stay: October, 2014 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This is a small park located conveniently East of Taos off of highway. Our pull through site was level and easy to access. At this time of year water had to be disconnected in the evening to prevent freezing of hose and facility hook up. Verizon service was excellent and DirecTV easy to access. There is a large covered common area with a barbecue and picnic tables as well as picnic tables at each site. The area is high desert so landscaping is desert foliage and cactus. There is no fenced dog area but there is a well maintained dirt trail which made an excellent one mile walk for the dog. There is a nice store and staff was very helpful with suggestions for touring the area. We camped at Taos Monte Bello RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Black Bart's RV Park, Flagstaff, Arizona

Date of Stay: October, 2014 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

This park is in need of a good overhaul. Picnic table was splintering and warped, slab cracked, and dirt pull through site not level. Location is near town and the access from the highway is easy in and out. TV antenna service was excellent and Verizon service was good. There is no fenced dog area, however there is a large wooded undeveloped area adjoining the park which was perfect for a long walk. This park was a good overnight stop. I would stay here again for overnight only. We camped at Black Bart's RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Sounds of the Sea RV Park, Trinidad, California

Date of Stay: July, 2014 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very quiet, well cared for park with friendly management. It is located close to Patricks Point with easy freeway using the Patrick's Point State Park exit off of Highway 101. Sites on lower level are on gravel base with very small areas of grass. Some sites are larger than others, however the one we stayed in allowed minimal room (< 5') between ourselves and adjoining trailers. There was a small picnic table on a cement slab at the rear of our trailer, however it was in 3 feet of the adjoining trailer hook up and sewer system. Many sites are 30 amp only, however since the weather was cool we did not need 50 amp service. Internet access is free with a code, however during periods of peak use it was inaccessible. Cable TV was adequate. Verizon service is very limited. The best sites are back in with a partial ocean view and small patio. These seem to be mostly used by overnight guests. We would use this park again only if we could have the back in site with patio as there was no outdoor seating space at our site at all. There is no dog run and very limited space to walk dogs. The park was extremely quiet, and had a nice fish cleaning station as well as a shared fire ring. We camped at Sounds of the Sea RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
