Butterfield RV Resort & Observatory, Benson, Arizona

Date of Stay: February, 2016 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

The park is clean and staff friendly. This review is primarily to ensure other dog lovers are fully informed about this park's Dog Policy. The policy is strictly enforced by management & the long-term campers staying there. There are no exceptions even for handicap animals. Before we registered and signed the contract, we made the park aware of our handicap dog. We were told as long as we picked up after the dog immediately there would be no issues. However, we had long-term campers next to us personally confront us even though we immediately picked up after our dog. The sites at this park are rocked. We paid to stay one month. We left after 10 days even though we knew the park has a "No Refund Policy". We were offered another site but felt moving within the park would not resolve the issue. We explained to the manager there were no hard feelings but we recommended they clearly explain to campers that the dog policy is strictly enforced. Here is this park's dog policy as written in the contract when you register...."While you are in our park, please curb your pets. Walk your pets down the center of the road only. When walking to and from the pet area or other locations please keep your pet off of all other sites. Your dog should never be on another guest's site (vacant or occupied) without permission." We camped at Butterfield RV Resort & Observatory in a Travel Trailer.

J & H RV Park (55 + Park), Flagstaff, Arizona

Date of Stay: July, 2014 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

The rate reflects the Good Sam discount. We were assigned to Site 25. Our site had lava rock ground cover which caused the travel trailer to shift continuously. The site was so narrow that we could not park our truck with the camper and our slide out on our small 27' trailer interfered with the neighbor's site. No privacy at all. However, this campground markets itself as a senior site so it is very quiet and clean. We are seniors but we do not feel we got a good value for the price. There are lots of unusual restrictions such as "No smoking even in your own camper". The staff were friendly and helpful. We stayed 3 nights and believe there are many other campgrounds in this area at a better value. If you are looking for a one night stay, this would be fine. We camped at J & H RV Park (55 + Park) in a Travel Trailer.

Santa Fe Skies RV Park, Santa Fe, New Mexico

Date of Stay: July, 2014 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

The rate does not include the Good Sam discount applied. We stayed 2 nights. Very nice campground with a great location to the greater Santa Fe area. Easy on and off to interstate. We stayed in one of the patio sites. You have to expect lots of wind in this area because the campground does sit on top of a ridge. There are signs posted about the wind. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay again. We camped at Santa Fe Skies RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Meteor Crater RV Park, Winslow, Arizona

Date of Stay: July, 2014 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

We loved this campground! The price does not reflect the 10% Good Sams discount. Easy on and off to I-40 and close to the Meteor Crater. We stayed in Site 11. It's a gated campground. All sites are pull-through, with plenty of space for our 27' travel trailer and dually pick up truck. The staff were exceptionally friendly. The campground and store were very clean. We would definitely stay here again if we are visiting the Flagstaff area. We camped at Meteor Crater RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Joplin KOA, Joplin, Missouri

Date of Stay: June, 2014 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

This campground is an easy on and off to the interstate. We were placed in the back part of the park near the long term campers. This campground is OK for a one night stay but I plan to look at others in the area. This campground seems a little run down with high grass/weeds at the sites. We camped at Joplin KOA in a Motorhome.

Amarillo Ranch RV Park, Amarillo, Texas

Date of Stay: June, 2014 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

Nightly rate does not include the 10% Good Sams discount. We have stayed at this park several times in the last couple of years. The staff were very friendly and offered to help in any way they could. The park office and pool appeared to be very clean. The Wi-Fi was terrible. We finally just gave up using it. The staff readily admits that the system needs to be updated due to the increase usage in the park. We believe the park is really starting to show it's age. The grass hadn't been touched in quite a while it seemed. This park is good for a one night stay because of the great on and off location to the interstate. We were in Site 118B. We camped at Amarillo Ranch RV Park in a Travel Trailer.
