Columbia Sun RV Resort, Kennewick, Washington

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $54.00
Overall Rating:

What a great park, one of the nicest we've been in. It's a bit pricey, but they took both Passport and Good Sam during our stay. Nice wide sites, ours was gravel & level, though there are also some asphalt (more $$ however) with grass between sites. Wide asphalt roads. Good utilities w excellent H2O pressure (best to use a pressure regulator). As the park is fairly new, the trees are still smaller but well placed in the site. Good satellite tv and Verizon reception. Friendly helpful office staff. A very well designed park. We'll definitely be back. We camped at Columbia Sun RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Neat Retreat RV Park, Fruitland, Idaho

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

Decided to try a different park in the Boise area on our way back to WA, but what a disappointment this one was. "Neat" was truly NOT our first impression, many older dumpy looking permanent trailers upon arrival. But the site was long and nicely shaded, however, we had to park around a post in the site to avoid hitting it with our driver-side slides. Gravel parking with grass on the sides. Couldn't get satellite due to trees, but good cable. Utilities worked well, decent Verizon service. Though next to train tracks, none came through during our stay. Likely won't stay here again, certainly overpriced with no amenities. A "retreat" it was not! We camped at Neat Retreat RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

New Frontier RV Park, Winnemucca, Nevada

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Newer park, easy access off the freeway, but no highway noise noted. Long paved sites, as well as paved roads. Gravel between sites, no grass; table with 2-3 small trees between sites. Good well-placed utilities, good satellite & Verizon. Good place for 1-2 night stay. Would stay again if traveling through this area. We camped at New Frontier RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Whiskey Flats RV Park, Hawthorne, Nevada

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Nice place for a brief or overnight stay. Concrete pads, but gravel roads throughout made it dusty. Gravel between most sites; a few end sites with grass, but they wouldn't let bigger rigs park in them. Picnic table and small tree at each site. Good well-placed utilities. Good satellite & Verizon. Despite proximity to hwy, was quiet at night. Would likely stay again if traveling this route. We camped at Whiskey Flats RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Destiny RV Resort / Phoenix West, Goodyear, Arizona

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

After several calls to delay our arrival, each with very positive responses, we found the office staff inattentive to arriving guests. Some of the turns getting to our site were a bit tight. Sites are all concrete parking pads, with a nice patio and table. Good satellite and Verizon. Having a local friend join us for dinner, we found it quite annoying when their security guy came by and quite rudely said the car couldn't be parked in the adjacent site (despite MANY empty sites around us, and it was after 8 p.m.). Upon departing the next day, the exit gate was blocked off necessitating a drive all around the park to the entry gate. They could have informed us at check-in. This park really could do better at customer service, especially in the off-season. We'll probably return only because of the proximity to friends. We camped at Destiny RV Resort / Phoenix West in a Fifth Wheel.

Wine Ridge RV Resort & Cottages, Pahrump, Nevada

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Had viewed this park a couple years ago while in Pahrump, and decided to give it a try on our way back to WA from AZ. Office was closed when we arrived, but info readily available for our site. The last row of sites where we were placed, which are either pull-through or back-in, were a bit tight and narrow for a 42 ft 5th wheel, especially to keep the slides away from the small trees at either side. Gravel site with very small patio, but no table(though there were tables at other empty sites). Nice paved streets throughout. No cable TV, but good satellite and Verizon. Would stay again if in the area. We camped at Wine Ridge RV Resort & Cottages in a Fifth Wheel.

Horn Rapids RV Resort, Richland, Washington

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

This is our third time back to this park. With a bigger rig, we found the spaces between the sites much narrower, and we were unable to even put out one awning & could only partially extend the other. Gravel level parking site with nice grassy area between sites. However as the trees have gotten bigger, we had to position around them to extend the slides. All services worked well, good 50 amps. Still a nice park, but I think we'll try a new one close by our next trip through. We camped at Horn Rapids RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Mountain Home RV Park, Mountain Home, Idaho

What an unexpected gem, recommended by RV friends. As close to perfect as we have been to after a long journey. Paved streets & sites, long pull through for our 42ft rig. Good services, though didn't use their WiFi. Definitely would like to return & stay longer. We camped at Mountain Home RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Dakins Lake, Zearing, Iowa

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

Nice new county park on a small lake just adjacent to Zearing, IA, nice for a visit with family nearby. For those who like to fish, the small lake is stocked and there is a boat ramp available. 24 total sites, of which about 1/2 are full hookups. Surprisingly for the 4th of July weekend, it was only about 1/2 full - I guess many Iowans haven't found it yet! We had full hookup, gravel, level back-in site which was plenty long for our 42 ft 5th wheel. As it's new, the trees are still small, so no shade, but give them time. Only big negative was poor H2O pressure. Fairly good Verizon service, MiFi for Internet. Zearing has little to offer except family, but Ames is only 30 miles west with much to offer. We stayed for 5 days, and certainly will return as it is so close to family. We camped at Dakins Lake in a Fifth Wheel.

Santa Fe Park, Chanute, Kansas

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

Only place close to KC RV center when we headed there for recent repairs. Nice city park and baseball fields adjacent. Good pull through sites just off rather busy main street, though we didn't really notice the noise at night. Definitely a value, the first 2 nights are free and then only $10 nightly. Gravel pull thru site, fairly level, but rather muddy in the am after an early morning thunderstorm. 50 amps, good H2O pressure. Dump site was on the other side of the park where there are also some shorter back-in sites. Will stay again when we return for further repairs at KC RV Center. We camped at Santa Fe Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Rocky Pond Park, Belleville, Kansas

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Nice small city park in north-central KS. Ideal for overnight stay. 8 long pull through sites, didn't have to unhook. Gravel sites, some were more muddy after the recent rain, fairly level. 50 amps at all sites, good H2O pressure and sewer. Would definitely stay again overnight for the price if passing through. We camped at Rocky Pond Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Coachlight Inn & RV Park, Las Cruces, New Mexico

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

This place is tucked behind a motel, convenient to I-10, with very little road noise. It is basically a dirt & gravel lot with a raised divider with trees and dead grass between the sites. Several older permanent rigs are well-kept. Utilities with 50 amp power available are properly located. Adequate water pressure. Good Verizon service, used a jetpak for internet. Good satellite reception. A good value only because of Passport America. No other amenities. Would probably stay here again if passing through. We camped at Coachlight Inn & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

81 Palms Senior RV Resort (55+ Park), Deming, New Mexico

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Convenient access to I-10, but as previously noted, this convenience comes with the noise of BOTH the road and train, and it was NOT insignificant. It was also fairly windy most of our stay, so lots of dust. They only take cash or checks, which is NOT noted anywhere on their website; luckily we had called ahead and were informed of this. They accept no other discounts. The entire area is small gravel, fairly level sites. Water pressure was certainly lower than usual. Good Verizon service, didn't use the Tengo internet. Though didn't use, there was a nice indoor pool, and big game room & laundry. After driving through Deming and seeing the other park options, this was still the best choice in Deming. We probably would stay again IF there was a reason to stay in Deming. Stayed in a 42 ft fifth wheel. We camped at 81 Palms Senior RV Resort (55+ Park) in a Fifth Wheel.

Cochise Terrace RV Resort, Benson, Arizona

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

After our winter's stay in Tucson, we began our trek east with a stop at Cochise Terrace. It was a great place for day trips to Bisbee and Kartchner Caverns state park, great value with Passport America. Nice long and fairly level pull-through paved sites; we were on the end site adjacent to a lovely cactus garden, with several in bloom. Lovely mountain vistas as well. Also enjoyed the pool one afternoon. Good Verizon, Wifi only with our jetpak; good water pressure. We would definitely return to Cochise Terrace, stayed in a 42 ft 5th wheel. Zane Grey RV Park (55+ park), Camp Verde, Arizona

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

What a little gem this is. Very friendly staff, escorted to our site. Clean level fine gravel. Nice shade trees along & between sites are adequately trimmed. No cable, but good antenna reception of major channels. Most notable thing negatively was a significant amount of road noise from Hwy 260, quite surprising to us though quieter at night and didn't bother our sleep. Despite staying a short time, we were eagerly welcomed to a great Halloween potluck; such a friendly group of both permanent & longer stay folks as well as short stays. We would certainly return & like to stay longer. We camped at Zane Grey RV Park (55+ park) in a Fifth Wheel.
