This is our third time back to this park. With a bigger rig, we found the spaces between the sites much narrower, and we were unable to even put out one awning & could only partially extend the other. Gravel level parking site with nice grassy area between sites. However as the trees have gotten bigger, we had to position around them to extend the slides. All services worked well, good 50 amps. Still a nice park, but I think we'll try a new one close by our next trip through.

What an unexpected gem, recommended by RV friends. As close to perfect as we have been to after a long journey. Paved streets & sites, long pull through for our 42ft rig. Good services, though didn't use their WiFi. Definitely would like to return & stay longer.

Dakins Lake

Zearing, Iowa

Date of Stay:

Nice new county park on a small lake just adjacent to Zearing, IA, nice for a visit with family nearby. For those who like to fish, the small lake is stocked and there is a boat ramp available. 24 total sites, of which about 1/2 are full hookups. Surprisingly for the 4th of July weekend, it was only about 1/2 full - I guess many Iowans haven't found it yet! We had full hookup, gravel, level back-in site which was plenty long for our 42 ft 5th wheel. As it's new, the trees are still small, so no shade, but give them time. Only big negative was poor H2O pressure. Fairly good Verizon service, MiFi for Internet. Zearing has little to offer except family, but Ames is only 30 miles west with much to offer. We stayed for 5 days, and certainly will return as it is so close to family.

Date of Stay:

Only place close to KC RV center when we headed there for recent repairs. Nice city park and baseball fields adjacent. Good pull through sites just off rather busy main street, though we didn't really notice the noise at night. Definitely a value, the first 2 nights are free and then only $10 nightly. Gravel pull thru site, fairly level, but rather muddy in the am after an early morning thunderstorm. 50 amps, good H2O pressure. Dump site was on the other side of the park where there are also some shorter back-in sites. Will stay again when we return for further repairs at KC RV Center.

Date of Stay:

Nice small city park in north-central KS. Ideal for overnight stay. 8 long pull through sites, didn't have to unhook. Gravel sites, some were more muddy after the recent rain, fairly level. 50 amps at all sites, good H2O pressure and sewer. Would definitely stay again overnight for the price if passing through.

This place is tucked behind a motel, convenient to I-10, with very little road noise. It is basically a dirt & gravel lot with a raised divider with trees and dead grass between the sites. Several older permanent rigs are well-kept. Utilities with 50 amp power available are properly located. Adequate water pressure. Good Verizon service, used a jetpak for internet. Good satellite reception. A good value only because of Passport America. No other amenities. Would probably stay here again if passing through.

Date of Stay:

Convenient access to I-10, but as previously noted, this convenience comes with the noise of BOTH the road and train, and it was NOT insignificant. It was also fairly windy most of our stay, so lots of dust. They only take cash or checks, which is NOT noted anywhere on their website; luckily we had called ahead and were informed of this. They accept no other discounts. The entire area is small gravel, fairly level sites. Water pressure was certainly lower than usual. Good Verizon service, didn't use the Tengo internet. Though didn't use, there was a nice indoor pool, and big game room & laundry. After driving through Deming and seeing the other park options, this was still the best choice in Deming. We probably would stay again IF there was a reason to stay in Deming. Stayed in a 42 ft fifth wheel.

After our winter's stay in Tucson, we began our trek east with a stop at Cochise Terrace. It was a great place for day trips to Bisbee and Kartchner Caverns state park, great value with Passport America. Nice long and fairly level pull-through paved sites; we were on the end site adjacent to a lovely cactus garden, with several in bloom. Lovely mountain vistas as well. Also enjoyed the pool one afternoon. Good Verizon, Wifi only with our jetpak; good water pressure. We would definitely return to Cochise Terrace, stayed in a 42 ft 5th wheel.

What a little gem this is. Very friendly staff, escorted to our site. Clean level fine gravel. Nice shade trees along & between sites are adequately trimmed. No cable, but good antenna reception of major channels. Most notable thing negatively was a significant amount of road noise from Hwy 260, quite surprising to us though quieter at night and didn't bother our sleep. Despite staying a short time, we were eagerly welcomed to a great Halloween potluck; such a friendly group of both permanent & longer stay folks as well as short stays. We would certainly return & like to stay longer.

Date of Stay:

We really liked the proximity of the campground to Lake Powell, chose a site in loop D with a nice peekaboo view. Site was spacious, level concrete with patio area, picnic table, and fire pit. Minimal daytime road noise from Hwy 89, with easy access. Only negative was lack of either cable or antenna TV. Good Verizon cell phone & Mifi. Already making plans for a return to do the things we didn't get to. Very pleased with our stay here.

Kanab RV Corral

Kanab, Utah

Date of Stay:

We stayed here for a visit to Zion national park. Very good and easy access from I-89, which also means fairly significant road noise mostly during the day hours but not so much at night and didn't affect sleep. Nice level gravel back-in site, adequate width for 4 slides. Picnic table also, though they don't want you to put the grill on it. Good Verizon cell phone & Mifi service, no cable but over 12 antenna channels with very good reception. A few nice trees added to the overall good experience, would definitely return to this park which closes 1 Nov for the season.

When we were unable to stay where initially planned, Ruby's Inn was close & available, so we decided to stay despite the slightly higher price of others in the area. We were pleasantly pleased and it was perfect for the visit to Bryce canyon. Sites were gravel and had to dodge puddles from recent rain; fairly level. Good WiFi, poor Verizon at our site allowed only texts. Good cable with wide selection of channels. We certainly would stay again.

Date of Stay:

This is a place only for overnight stays, as there are few choices in this area when heading to the parks of southern Utah. Easy proximity to the freeway, but with the noise one would expect. Level gravel site which was adequate length so it wasn't necessary to unhook our 40' RV& dually truck. Good cable, WiFi, and Verizon service. Pleasant office staff. Though not a destination stay, we would return if passing through the area.

Date of Stay:

We have stayed in this park several times before, and knew what to anticipate. However the unwatered grass and some unkept sites dismayed us. Though easily accessible from the freeway, the road noise is less noticeable than the trains passing at all hours. We love to visit Maryhill winery when we stay there & again they did not disappoint. There is limited Verizon service & no cable, WiFi, or antenna TV. The sites are fairly level, but could benefit from more gravel. Though a bit more costly, the sites by the river remain our preference. We will return to this park & hope the deficiencies noted are resolved.

Date of Stay:

Second stay here, now with new owners. Very convenient to freeway, but very minimal noise noted from inside RV. Newly gravelled level sites with grassy area between sites and adequate width & length, so didn't have to unhook. Good Verizon and cable service. Ideal overnight stay when heading between WA & AZ, would certainly stay again if passing through.
