Double J Campground and RV Park, Chatham, Illinois

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Very friendly at check in and the campground looked great at first glance. Heavy noise from the highway. -Too tight for big rigs. We narrowly missed hitting a tree while trying to navigate our way out of spot. The spot was so tight that we had to have several tries to successfully exit the site without hitting the motorhome parked next to us and the travel trailer directly across from us. The electric hook up was to the very front of the site, making it necessary to have an extra power cord, and the sewer hook up was at least 18" above ground, making it necessary to physically assist in the dumping of the tanks. Our friends were directed into a site that was so tight to enter that they struck a protruding tree stump that should have been taken out or burned to the ground immediately after cutting down the tree. It did damage to their unit and the entire skirt had to be replaced. The escort was very rude and flip, and completely to blame for misdirecting them and not warning them properly. No apologies were given and he actually blamed our friends for hitting the stump. The bathroom was 90 degrees, so taking a shower to escape the heat and stress of the day,. was not a good idea at that time. There were five of us in the caravan that night and we all had similar issues with the tightness of the sites, the bizarre hook up situation, and the difficulty exiting those sites. We (all)cancelled for our return trip home and will never stay here again. NOT BIG RIG FRIENDLY. We camped at Double J Campground and RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Branson Stagecoach Campground, Branson, Missouri

Date of Stay: November, 2014 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

We had an enjoyable stay here. It is an older park but the new(er) owners are making every effort to update and improve the park. Very nice cafe, friendly staff, reasonable rates with discount and mostly level sites. Our site was a concrete pad pull thru. Very quiet area but accessible to all that Branson has to offer. We will stay here again. We camped at Branson Stagecoach Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Circle The Wagons RV Park , La Veta, Colorado

Date of Stay: July, 2014 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed for a week with a wonderful shaded spot by the river (in the back of the campsite). Gravel spots seemed to be level. The bathroom facilities were very clean as was the shower area. The laundry facility was very nice and used non commercial type dryers which didn't over dry the clothes. It is a small campground with a very nice fire pit and plenty of seating/lounging areas around the area, and a dog park, but the park offers no activities for children, which would be the only negative I can report on. The owners were very friendly and extremely helpful and knowledgeable about surrounding areas and things to see and do. We even got local wildlife visitors on a few days/evenings. Deer and an occasional bear. The only reason I didn't rate it a 10 was because of no pool or activities. We camped at Circle The Wagons RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

High Plains Camping, Oakley, Kansas

Date of Stay: July, 2014 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

The campground is conveniently located right off of I-70 but that is about the only thing positive I have to say about this campground. It is very run down, with tall weeds, overgrown areas and grass that hadn't been mowed in a few weeks. A strip of grass had been mowed leading to the mini golf course, but the tall grass lay in piles (ready for bailing). Weeds and stickers are everywhere. We stayed here on two occasions (one night only) and found this to be true both times. Potholes everywhere, even in the approach to the office. Bathrooms had dead bugs and smelled of urine in both the men's and women's bathroom. No pride of ownership here. Don't be fooled by their pictures or their claims. We will not be back. On a positive note the Hunts Bros. pizza was good and the pool was clean. We camped at High Plains Camping in a Fifth Wheel.

Whittington Woods Campground, Whittington, Illinois

Date of Stay: May, 2014 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Easy access to highway, immaculate beautifully landscaped grounds, lovely garden area, pristine pool, sparkling and roomy bathroom/shower area, nice laundry facilities, and friendly owners. The entire park is beautifully wooded and shady with level sites and grassy areas. We received fresh eggs upon check in from their free range laying hens. A nice play area for the kids with retro style playground equipment. Reminded me of our playground at school. We stayed here on our way to WDW in Florida and again on the return trip home. We will definitely stay here again, anytime we are in the area. LOVE THIS PLACE!! What a gem. We camped at Whittington Woods Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Ocala Sun RV Resort, Ocala, Florida

Date of Stay: May, 2014 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Very narrow sites. We could almost touch our neighbors fifth wheel. The bathrooms at this facility are my main complaint. Dead bugs in the sink, on the floor, in the hallways. Trash hadn't been dumped in a while. Hair in shower stall(s). Long dark hair in the handicap shower stall was obviously there awhile. The soap scum was dried to the floor. We camped at Ocala Sun RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.
