About Wendle123

We spend about a month each summer on the road visiting as many state and national parks as possible. Our goal is to educate our children about the amazing beauty we have in the U.S.A. The rest of the year we sneak away as we can, but stay fairly local.

We absolutely love this park. It's beautiful, the sites are large, and the playground is a joy. Best spots if you have children is one of the spots that backs up to the playground. Trees give you some privacy, but it's just close enough that you can monitor your kiddos and enjoy visiting outside. The bridge is great for fishing and there is a nice swim hole during summer time. It gets pretty busy in the summer and on holiday weekends. It's close to Morton where there is a small grocery store, gas, and a few restaurants. We didn't get AT&T cell service in the park. We would probably stay here often if we weren't members at the nearby K&M Resorts of America campground.

We are K/M Resorts of America members so our camping was free. We arrived late and were told to just pick a spot. There are a lot of pull thrus. Some spots are close together while others have big grassy areas. We got lucky and have a huge grassy area that's perfect for the kids. They only have 4 campfire pits for the entire park so we had to wait for one to become available. They are $5 a day. A bit of a pain but they do have community fire area. hosts are very friendly and helpful. Pool is indoor and large which is perfect for rainy days. Very close to Mt Rainer Natl Park and Mt St Helens. Lots of fun hiking surround this park. There is a restaurant and high priced grocery nearby.Overall, pleased with this campground. We will be back!

We were a bit disappointed that the sites were basically just pull overs from the road. We didn't even have enough room to keep our stairs down, but the views were amazing and within 5 minutes of parking we saw elk walking through the field across the way. Perfect campground for kids with bikes. Because we weren't in a loop, we had to deal with quite a bit of car traffic. Had some issues with a group of teenagers zooming through the campground pretty fast so the park rangers put out some cones to help slow them down. The nightly ranger talks were really good and entertaining for the kids. Lots to do in the area and Estes Park is a cute town (we even went to two parades!) Careful - some loops don't allow generators. Thank goodness ours did. If we stay here again we would reserve a site deeper into the loop.

We love this campground. Our children absolutely love the pool and it's almost always empty during the off season. The bathrooms are nice and clean. We normally camp in a travel trailer, but we needed to be in town and decided to try out the cabins. They were very comfortable although the carpets had clipped fingernails which were not ours (ick!). I would have preferred the cabin to have been cleaner, but there was plenty of room and are children had a wonderful time. The customer service was great and everyone was very friendly!

We stayed here for one night. The campground was in an ideal location - right off the freeway, but tucked away that you couldn't really hear much. Bathrooms were clean, showers were decent enough. It's not somewhere we would choose to camp for a week, but it was perfect for our one night stop.

We come here every year and are always happy but I have to say this year the campground just isn't the same. The sites are overgrown and not as well maintained. The gals who checked us in were scatterbrained and seemed very confused. Not as many activities for campers that they normally have. We will camp here again because we are KM Resort members and there are no camping fees. This was also the first year we were told we would have to pay for wifi as diamond members. Disappointed but the kids still had fun.

The owners are friendly, sites are large and nice, restrooms are clean, showers are clean, laundry area is priced spot on and clean. Love this campground. We will be back!

Loved this campground! Really large sites with lots of room. We were in E loop with electric and thank goodness because it was HOT! We were super close to a very nice, large playground. Perfect for the kids. The nightly ranger programs were great! The caverns were amazing to tour although I recommend going early if it's hot.the hike to the entrance is pretty steep. Only downsides to this park were in level sites and shower costs - $2 for 4 minutes. Sidenote - 7 miles past the campground take a right for a fishing access road that has a rocky beach for swimming. Would definitely camp here again.

We didn't end up camping here. First, we asked for rates on phone and was told $28 with Good Sam but we paid over $40 because if extra fees. Pulled in with reservations and nobody was at the door. Tried call the number posted only to get a busy signal. Finally a gentleman came to help us but he was very gruff. We got a "pull through" site that was literally sharing the same exit as the site next to us meaning there was no way we could pull through with another rig parked next to us. Our door opened right into a tent spot.Asked another gentleman working at the pool if we'd be able to pull out when a big rig was parked next to us and he got defensive. Told me we could get our money back and leave. The owner started to try to make it right but she was very rough around the edges and super defensive. We ended up getting a refund and leaving.

We love this campground especially if you can get close to the water for amazing views. They don't have water hookups but the camp hosts unlocked the faucet to allow us to fill a small pool for the kids and fill our tank. The showers were clean if you used them right after the camp hosts came through but they really needed either a garbage in the shower area or another cleaning. People are so disrespectful and left their trash in the showers. Only downside was lack of camp hosts. There were quite a few but they were all set up quite away from the campers. Camp hosts never checked in on us and we were there for 9 days. Campsite really needs speed bumps put out to keep people from racing through the campground.

The only reason why I didn't give this campground a 10 is because the owner came across a little gruff about us having two children. The campground and facilities are well maintained and clean. You can tell the owner runs a tight ship which makes this place great. But he told me my 9 year old and 6 year old were not allowed in the restrooms without adult supervision. Other than that, the owner was super friendly and wished us well and waved to us when we left. Seems like a great guy who just wants to make sure people respect his campground so others can enjoy it.

Cute for the kids, clean restrooms, and decent showers. The pool was small with odd hours - closed at 7:30 PM, which is pretty early for a tourist town. The pool was really dirty with loads of bugs. We stayed in the RV sites, which do not have individual fire pits. Sites are close together which was fine since we camped with two others but probably a pain for people camping alone. We would camp here again. Price was decent, place was clean, and the kids had fun.
