About Wendle123

We spend about a month each summer on the road visiting as many state and national parks as possible. Our goal is to educate our children about the amazing beauty we have in the U.S.A. The rest of the year we sneak away as we can, but stay fairly local.

Rate reflects K/M Resorts of America rate. We have been to this park many times and each year it gets worse and worse. . There were three of us traveling together (38 ft motor home, 36 ft fifth wheel, + our trailer). We received spots in the upper area. The 38 foot motorhome spot was long enough, but no rooms for slides. We actually had to trim back trees so the slides could come out. Couldn't get out anything from under the motorhome because there was a hill on both sides. The 36 foot fifth wheel was in a spot which required backing up a steep hill on loose gravel. Impossible. They moved, but big hill right outside their door. Very dangerous. We had a "pull through" which was really a pull over spot with big potholes. Even with our small trailer, there was no way we could fit in the spot they assigned us. We moved spots and took about 15 tries to get our trailer to fit in. No room to park our truck, so we had to park by the bathrooms. My husband also had to have maintenance come (a 18 year old kid) and fix the water faucet at our spot. The kid was nice, but had no clue so my husband had to help him out. The bathrooms weren't clean, the showers were dirty, pool had hair and grime, and the nightly karaoke was absolutely too loud. The only positive thing is that the there is supposedly new management and when he saw the spots we were trying to get in, he apologized and offered us free meals for the weekend. Check in told us that there were no other spots in park, but turns out there were plenty of pull thrus. Considering the rate we pay to be KM members, the whole situation was absurd. New manager seems to want to get things fixed up, but he also had nightly guests come into the park who drank and sang LOUD karaoke past 10pm each night. I am not sure if we will be back. In fact, we are thinking about cancelling our KM membership entirely.

We love this park, but their prices are really steep! This is our third time here knowing they had higher prices, but the rates this year were horrible! We camped here with two adults, two kids, and two little dogs. Price was $54.00 and that was after the 10% Good Sam Discount. The park is clean and well-maintained. We camped with friends and the friendship sites are wonderful. I have no complaints about the park except price and railroad ties -- the railroad ties look great, but the oil and grease gets on shoes and dog paws. Not an easy thing to clean up after it's tracked throughout the trailer. I have been at similar parks who only charge $35.00. We won't stay here again only because of cost.

Some sites have broken water hookups, most overgrown with grass, and dog feces in the back up sites. If we weren't traveling in a group, I don't think we would have felt safe here. It's definitely in the middle of nowhere and has zero frills. With that said, we did see some bunnies, elk, and owls. The bathrooms were also very clean and a 24 hour laundromat onsite was just what we needed for our one night stay.

The price is a bit steep for dry camping but the park is well maintained and the Montana sky is amazing. Vault toilets but they are by far the cleanest vault toilets I have ever seen. They clean them daily and they actually don't stink. Sites are almost all pull thrus, most with lots of space. Beautiful park.

We loved this park. It's small which is nice. They lock the gates at night and the kids loved taping flashlights to their bikes and riding along in the parking lot! You can go a few blocks up the road to access a swim beach or just plop in off one of the many concrete "docks". Water temp was 79 degrees! Restrooms were clean, showers were nice, staff was great. Would have stayed longer if we hadn't made reservations elsewhere.

Nice sites with decent enough room between. Wonderful recreation areas. Near the beach. Clean restrooms, great showers, wonderful staff. Lots of activities for the family. They even had a live band one night. Bunnies live all over which is fun. My biggest complaint is the ridiculously long grass. One of the busier weekends of the year where all sites are full and overflow area is almost full, yet the grass hasn't been mowed in so long that it literally is almost up to my 7 year old knees. It makes being outside miserable since the damp air = wet grass. Our little dogs couldn't use the dog area because the grass was taller than they were. Do they not own a lawn mower? This could be a beautiful campground. Mowing the grass would make a huge difference.

We absolutely love this park. It's beautiful, the sites are large, and the playground is a joy. Best spots if you have children is one of the spots that backs up to the playground. Trees give you some privacy, but it's just close enough that you can monitor your kiddos and enjoy visiting outside. The bridge is great for fishing and there is a nice swim hole during summer time. It gets pretty busy in the summer and on holiday weekends. It's close to Morton where there is a small grocery store, gas, and a few restaurants. We didn't get AT&T cell service in the park. We would probably stay here often if we weren't members at the nearby K&M Resorts of America campground.

We are K/M Resorts of America members so our camping was free. We arrived late and were told to just pick a spot. There are a lot of pull thrus. Some spots are close together while others have big grassy areas. We got lucky and have a huge grassy area that's perfect for the kids. They only have 4 campfire pits for the entire park so we had to wait for one to become available. They are $5 a day. A bit of a pain but they do have community fire area. hosts are very friendly and helpful. Pool is indoor and large which is perfect for rainy days. Very close to Mt Rainer Natl Park and Mt St Helens. Lots of fun hiking surround this park. There is a restaurant and high priced grocery nearby.Overall, pleased with this campground. We will be back!

We were a bit disappointed that the sites were basically just pull overs from the road. We didn't even have enough room to keep our stairs down, but the views were amazing and within 5 minutes of parking we saw elk walking through the field across the way. Perfect campground for kids with bikes. Because we weren't in a loop, we had to deal with quite a bit of car traffic. Had some issues with a group of teenagers zooming through the campground pretty fast so the park rangers put out some cones to help slow them down. The nightly ranger talks were really good and entertaining for the kids. Lots to do in the area and Estes Park is a cute town (we even went to two parades!) Careful - some loops don't allow generators. Thank goodness ours did. If we stay here again we would reserve a site deeper into the loop.

We love this campground. Our children absolutely love the pool and it's almost always empty during the off season. The bathrooms are nice and clean. We normally camp in a travel trailer, but we needed to be in town and decided to try out the cabins. They were very comfortable although the carpets had clipped fingernails which were not ours (ick!). I would have preferred the cabin to have been cleaner, but there was plenty of room and are children had a wonderful time. The customer service was great and everyone was very friendly!

We stayed here for one night. The campground was in an ideal location - right off the freeway, but tucked away that you couldn't really hear much. Bathrooms were clean, showers were decent enough. It's not somewhere we would choose to camp for a week, but it was perfect for our one night stop.

We come here every year and are always happy but I have to say this year the campground just isn't the same. The sites are overgrown and not as well maintained. The gals who checked us in were scatterbrained and seemed very confused. Not as many activities for campers that they normally have. We will camp here again because we are KM Resort members and there are no camping fees. This was also the first year we were told we would have to pay for wifi as diamond members. Disappointed but the kids still had fun.

The owners are friendly, sites are large and nice, restrooms are clean, showers are clean, laundry area is priced spot on and clean. Love this campground. We will be back!

Loved this campground! Really large sites with lots of room. We were in E loop with electric and thank goodness because it was HOT! We were super close to a very nice, large playground. Perfect for the kids. The nightly ranger programs were great! The caverns were amazing to tour although I recommend going early if it's hot.the hike to the entrance is pretty steep. Only downsides to this park were in level sites and shower costs - $2 for 4 minutes. Sidenote - 7 miles past the campground take a right for a fishing access road that has a rocky beach for swimming. Would definitely camp here again.

We didn't end up camping here. First, we asked for rates on phone and was told $28 with Good Sam but we paid over $40 because if extra fees. Pulled in with reservations and nobody was at the door. Tried call the number posted only to get a busy signal. Finally a gentleman came to help us but he was very gruff. We got a "pull through" site that was literally sharing the same exit as the site next to us meaning there was no way we could pull through with another rig parked next to us. Our door opened right into a tent spot.Asked another gentleman working at the pool if we'd be able to pull out when a big rig was parked next to us and he got defensive. Told me we could get our money back and leave. The owner started to try to make it right but she was very rough around the edges and super defensive. We ended up getting a refund and leaving.
