We selected this campground because it was the only one available in Gettysburg with multiple sites to accommodate a last minute family get-together with multiple travel trailers. The previous reviews were mixed so we were a little nervous about what to expect. First, this campground has the cleanest bathrooms I have ever seen at a campground, not so much as a cobweb in a corner. The pool was very clean but really cold. We didn't stay in long but that was due to the unseasonably cool temperatures. The office staff was very friendly and helpful. The campground seemed well maintained in the common areas. There were little to no bugs either which was great! However there were a few negatives to the campground which is why it received a six. The playground consists of 1 slide, 2 seesaws and 4 swings. It could definitely use an upgrade. The mini-golf was $5 per person. The cost was way too expensive given the condition of the course. I would rather pay $7.50 per person for the awesome mini-golf place up the road. The firewood was very expensive for the few little pieces of wood that you get. We drove around and found a better deal on wood. Lastly, we were given a site in the Devils Den area. We asked for clarification on what the tank sites were. We were assured that they were the same as a sewer site but just above ground. When it came time to empty our black and gray water tanks, it was a pain in the butt to say the least. We would not pick a site like this one again. This campground would be great if you have no children or plan to spend very little time at the campground. Pick a regular sewer site as opposed to one of the tank sites. We stayed here for 4 nights.

We stayed here several years ago and loved this campground. We were excited to visit a second time but quickly realized it was going to be a different experience the second time around. The nightly rates are expensive and there are no additional amenities for the extra money. We have 5 and 6 year-olds and they love the playground. This time around the playground was overgrown with weeds and littered with garbage. I did see an employee with a weed eater but he never touched the playground. The pool is a nice size but had a strange murky color to it. The one bathroom we did use near the office had the same pink puddle over much of the counter the entire time we were there. We didn't use the showers thankfully but given the state of the bathroom I thought I would check them out. EEK! They were gross, dark, dirty and complete with a used sanitary item lying on the floor. For the money there are 1000 campgrounds I would pay to visit before we would ever return here. We stayed in the lower section on site 401. It was a nice level site.

We loved this campground! If you are looking for scenic views, quiet surroundings, and lots of activities then this is the place. The management was very friendly. Our site was large and had a beautiful view of the local area. We will definitely return as soon as we can. It is hands down the most peaceful campground we have ever been to. Thanks Starlite for a great weekend!

Cherrystone is a great family campground. There is so much to do for the kids. They have added a jump pillow which the adults had more fun on then the kids. We go every year for 8 days and never run out of things to do. The water park and pools are well maintained and staff is always available if you have a question.
