Sac West RV Park and Campground, West Sacramento, California

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $54.00
Overall Rating:

37 ft Class A with toad. Not a lot of choices in Sacramento. Good location to see area. Near 8-80 and US 50 junction, most western exit in Sacramento. Located near freeway but not noisy. Good park, friendly people and staff. Nice pool, food truck, see other reviews. Not a lot of landscaping. Large dog run area and tent camping space. Site was not overwide, but pull thru was long enough for RV and toad. Not too many 50 Amp service, was on a 30 Amp during hot August, voltage dropped to 105 from branch loads when park was full. Not a lot of shade trees, gravel site in good condition interior roads good. Would stay here again. We camped at Sac West RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

Grant County Fairgrounds RV Park, John Day, Oregon

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Call the fairgrounds for reservations. They take CC over the phone, $2.50 service charge, our cash/ check at the kiosk. Name was on our site when we arrived. Nice, water and sewer available at our site,#21. A Back-in, which was very long. Lots of tent camping space. WiFi was unsecured, but worked well for mail and browsing, didn't try steaming. Enter off of Bridge street, not fairgrounds address in Garmin. All restaurants on Main St, .4 miles away. Better than average fairground camping. We camped at Grant County Fairgrounds RV Park in a Motorhome.

Denio Junction, Denio, Nevada

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

First, there is no other park available in the near area. And this isn't an RV park anymore. We were directed to an area near the bar & restaurant with 4 "spaces". The ground in this area has been reclaimed by the weeds and stickers of the desert, the space had no water or sewer. There is 15 amp service, but my Progressive Power Monitor said the polarity was reversed, so we didn't use it. The lady gave us our money back, so no harm other than the frustration. So, just think of it as a place off the road to park. Now the good things. Had a really good hamburger and fries. The wife liked her nice chicken mixed green salad. The beer is cold and they have a small bar. People are very nice. They are installing gas pumps today, so they will have Reg and Diesel soon, which is a big thing out here. So if you get tired, don't want to drive an hour and a half more to Winnemucca, this makes a good place for an overnight. The larger park area across the road (mentioned in the other review) appears to be in the process of being reclaimed by the desert. So think of this as a place where you can pull off, get a hamburg and a beer, and safely dry camp. The restaurant closes at 6 PM, the bar at maybe 8 or 9. We camped at Denio Junction in a Motorhome.

Triple C’s Campground & RV Park (Formerly Chattahoochee/Tallahassee We, Chattahoochee, Florida

Date of Stay: November, 2016 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Overnight stay. 37 ft class A with a toad. Only hooked up for electricity. Very quiet, heavy tree cover so Sat reception would be iffy. No tables, electric boxes looked new. Nice people. Maybe a little pricy for the area, but you get what you pay for. Good base area if you were going to leave the RV and explore. As others have said, nothing near, Chattahoochie about 5 miles north. State lakes and rivers if you canoe or kayak. Several long term campers, spaced far apart; Several overnighters, they left before us at 6 AM. We camped at Triple C’s Campground & RV Park (Formerly Chattahoochee/Tallahassee We in a Motorhome.

Tuck in the Wood Campground, St. Helena, South Carolina

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

Camped here in a 37 foot motor home with a toad. Had no trouble maneuvering at the front of the park. Next to us was a 39 foot MH with a trailer. They went in and out with no trouble. Campsites had a wooden picnic table. We had good 50 amp service, water and sewer. Space 20 was listed as a premium site. Lots of space, oak trees and Spanish moss provide privacy between sites. There is a kids playground and a cement 1/2 court basketball area. Pond on site with bluegill and bass. Never saw the alligator. Very quiet at night, 5 bar Verizon signal, good cable, slow WiFi. Was able to get both Savannah and Charleston TV stations on RV mounted antenna. Soil is compacted sand and wood.

We weathered Tropical Storm Hermine here. Some falling oak branches, lots of rain and lost power for about 24 hours, but no damage. Trees blocked the wind. Some flies and mosquitos, love bugs and black gnats.

US Mail Package with medicines "lost." Park Management saying wasn't delivered, USPS saying it was. No resolution at this writing. Suggest you use general delivery at St Helena Island. We camped at Tuck in the Wood Campground in a Motorhome.

Camping World - Good Sam Campground of Oxford, Anniston, Alabama

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here in 38 ft. Class A with toad. Road packed gravel, sites loose gravel, had to use boards under the leveling jacks because of shifting. Small shower/restrooms at the office. Food, shopping not close enough to walk. Slight freeway noise at night. Electric 50/30 amps, good pull through, open, very little shade. The sewer connection is at the back of the site, set up more for travel trailers. Good cable service. No WiFi. Good enough for an overnight. Not a lot of choices near Birmingham. We camped at Camping World - Good Sam Campground of Oxford in a Motorhome.

Interstate Campground & RV Center, Byron, Georgia

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

We did a drive thru of this park just to check suitability. We were getting our RV serviced at Peach State Truck Center directly across I-75 from this park. Our eval is that this is a good, journey type park for an overnight. There is room for big rig access at the front of the park, in the open. Large pull thru spaces under the trees in the back. Roads are gravel, wide enough and turns big enough for a 38 ft RV with a toad. Spaces are gravel dirt grass mix. RVs parked in the camp appeared in good condition, park has an outdoor swimming pool, some units had kids toys and bicycles outside. Probably loud freeway noise at night. Talked to managers on the phone, nice people. We will stay here in the future if getting RV serviced. We camped at Interstate Campground & RV Center in a Motorhome.

Morro Strand RV Park, Morro Bay, California

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

3rd stay in this park, usually for a month or longer, during the "winter-off season". Very clean restrooms and laundry. Price varies by space width. 2 parks across the street from each other. Place for shorter trailers/RVs backs onto a public park/soccer field. Place for larger RVs next to schools. Nicely kept area, park hosts usually nice people, one curmudgeon.. Strongly suggest reservations, park fills up on weekends and special events in Morro Bay. Near nice bike trail, 10 minute walk to the edge of the Embarcadero/docks of Morro bay, 5 minutes to the ocean. 7 days a week local bus (May thru mid October)/ 5 days a week rest of year, stops across from park. Easy walking distance to a Taco Bell, liquor store, small gas station market. Right now water tastes musty in Morro Bay, low well levels and past high heat, so non-filtered water is a little objectionable. A little noisy at times, city heavy equipment yard nearby as is water treatment plant and school. Very quiet most nights unless there is a football game. :-) We camped at Morro Strand RV Park in a Motorhome.

Surfing and great white sharks, Morro Rock. Lola's Mexican restaurant, the Bayside Café, the Buoy (a locals bar), the Fuel Dock in the middle of Morro Bay has live bands on weekends with no cover and a little dance space, local farmer's markets, The Coffee Pot for breakfast at the docks.

Yakima River RV Park, Ellensburg, Washington

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

Camped in a 37 ft Class A with a toad. Pull through space. good place for an overnight, close to the Yakama River (trout, catch and release). Gets fishermen and river rafters. Had tent space but only 1 portapotty. Don't want to repeat other reviews, site would have been close if anyone else had parked next to us. 30 amp service, Didn't hook up anything but electricity. Very tall trees surround park, no Sat service if you are on the south side. No shade in the center during the day. Would stay there again if passing through, but there are probably nicer places for a longer stay. Check out the public forest service camping on the Yakama. We camped at Yakima River RV Park in a Motorhome.

Moon River RV Resort, Richland, Washington

Date of Stay: May, 2015 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed 11 weeks while working at at Columbia NGS. Different layout with RV/Trailers parallel to streets, giving private fenced grassy yard. Well kept, yards trimmed and mowed every week, nice shade tree in each space. Street orientation allows for good satellite reception. Quiet, lots of working class people, several full timers. Manager is a heavy internet use savvy and all sites have hard-wired high speed internet. Bring your wireless router. Stream movies to your TV. Had to buy a connecting Cat 5 cable long enough to go from the RV to the Utility box ($10.00 from manager). Nice clubhouse with a big pool (summer only). Small BBQ/grassed park area. Not in a pedestrian friendly area, No easy foot access to a corner store. No sidewalks along the busy road, which is the only reason I rated it a 9. Local bus access is about a 10 minute walk from the park along busy road with no sidewalks. A little daytime noise from a nearby rail spur, almost no traffic noise. Extremely nice manager and family. Only been there for a couple of years and working very hard to have a 1st class park. Would definitely stop there anytime in the area. We camped at Moon River RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Guajome County Park, Oceanside, California

Date of Stay: January, 2015 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Just spent 2 nights here. Space was good for us, under some nice oak trees. Only 30 amp service and water, dump station available. Near Guajome Lake, a small fishing lake on the edge of the park. Run by San Diego County, nice hiking and bike friendly area. Sites were paved, but a 37 foot motorhome about maxes out the available space in even the largest. Price about the same as the long term winter rates in the two (small) RV parks in Oceanside. Calif State parks in the area have weekday vacancies but weekend spots are tough to get sometimes, and much more expensive. We camped at Guajome County Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Very near Mission San Luis Rey, nice undiscovered tourist spot for adults. A few miles from the beaches. Fishing in the Lake, good place for short hikes and bike rides. Lego Land is about 20 minutes away, San Diego about 50 minutes. Nice place to stay for a few days being a tourist. See County website for info.
