Balmorhea State Park, Balmorhea, Texas

Date of Stay: August, 2014 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Rating this based on the campground alone. There is a beautiful spring pool in the park which is why we stayed here. Campground sites are level. It was quiet. Camp host were pretty unfriendly. Good cell service. Issues are that sites are pretty close together for a state park, bathrooms were so dirty we could not use. Trash over-flowing from dumpsters; no shade trees at all. Our rate includes the Texas state park entrance fee for 2 adults. Probably wouldn't stay here again unless we were visiting the spring. We camped at Balmorhea State Park in a Motorhome.

Rock Hound State Park, Deming, New Mexico

Date of Stay: August, 2014 - $14.00
Overall Rating:

This is one for the favorites list. One of the nicest campgrounds we've stayed at. Fairly small and well landscaped. Sites are pretty level but not perfect. Good spacing between sites. Bathrooms look brand new and unbelievably clean. Each site has its own trash can which is really convenient. It's perched up on a hill with great mountain and valley views. This will be a regular stop for us on I-10 We camped at Rock Hound State Park in a Motorhome.

Cloudland Canyon State Park, Rising Fawn, Georgia

Date of Stay: July, 2014 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

This is a great state park with a lot to do here. Great lookout points, waterfalls, and hiking. Good campground with really nice host. Our site was very level (34) and most sites looked level as well. My only knock is I like a little more space between the sites for a state park. Don't get me wrong spacing is good I just like more privacy. Very quite campground especially for a Saturday. We love Cloudland Canyon and will be back. We camped at Cloudland Canyon State Park in a Motorhome.

Campground is OK. Camp host were extremely friendly. It's on a nice lake but access is not great. Grass/weeds were overgrown. Sites are a little close for my liking. We camped at Corinth Recreation Area in a Motorhome.

This was one of the nicest state parks we have ever stayed in. Great mountain overlooks, huge playground for kids. Sites are specious and ours was perfectly level. This is on our favorites list for Huntsville. We camped at Monte Sano State Park in a Motorhome.
