Arizonian Travel Trailer Resort, Gold Canyon, Arizona

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $11.00
Overall Rating:

Rate reflects annual site charge. Very friendly park with nice amenities. Lots of ATV's and OHV's with group rides several days a week. Pool, pickle ball, shuffleboard, church services, bocce ball, horseshoes, paved streets for walking and biking. Desert access for biking, hiking or ATV. A good mix of full time RVers, snowbirds, permanent residents and overnighters. There are a fair number of park models mingled in with RV's. We camped at Arizonian Travel Trailer Resort in a Motorhome.

Beautiful park with nice pads and huge spaces. We stayed 2 nights in the fall and enjoyed every minute. Close to groceries and restaurants. Gets really busy on the weekend but with the well spaced and landscaped setup, it does not feel crowded. Lots of hiking, biking and lake opportunities. We will stay here again. We camped at Fool Hollow Lake Recreation Area in a Motorhome.

Dolores River Campground, Dolores, Colorado

Date of Stay: May, 2015 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Clean, quiet and relaxed park near Dolores with nice shade, concrete patios and grassy sites. Our stay began May 1 and will continue for the rest of the summer. Rate is based on monthly stay. Park has a family atmosphere with weekly ice cream night, pizza nites, potlucks, courtyard with horseshoes, washers, ladderball, etc. Great park for kids with plenty of outdoor space and a safe environment. Good choice for overnight or for a longer stay. We camped at Dolores River Campground in a Motorhome.

Desert Paradise Mobile Home & RV Village, Alamogordo, New Mexico

Date of Stay: February, 2015 - $8.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here the winter of 2014-2015. Sites are large and easily accessible. Very little shade and no grass. This is a good park for an overnight stay with easy access from Hwy 70. We enjoyed our winter in Alamogordo as there was a lot of history, beautiful scenery and outdoor sporting options in the area. It is also a very friendly town. The park is friendly but not a source of entertainment so fun must be found elsewhere. There is a clubhouse with nice laundry facilities as well as showers. Our rate reflects monthly stay. We will stay here again when we are going thru Alamogordo. We camped at Desert Paradise Mobile Home & RV Village in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Lots of ATV trails south at the mines near Orogrande or near High Rolls. Plenty of hiking options on the beautiful mountain trails between High Rolls and Cloudcroft. We spent a lot of time geocaching in the area. This is very popular around Alamogordo and is a fun way to get some outdoor entertainment.

Peter D's RV Park, Sheridan, Wyoming

Date of Stay: July, 2014 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Rate is Good Sam rate for one night. Rating is based on a one night stay. Clean, friendly staff, level sites, some grass, good interior roads, good phone and internet and quiet. Negatives would be tight spacing on the sites. Did not put out our awning. Would stay here again overnight. Simple off and on I-90, but didn't have any problem with highway noise. Cute little park. We camped at Peter D's RV Park in a Motorhome.

Lakeside Camping, North Platte, Nebraska

Date of Stay: July, 2014 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

For an overnight this will do. Quiet, staff very friendly and helpful, easy access off of I-80. Rate reflects PA discount. Negatives would be spacing is very close, no grass and very little gravel. Phone and internet was very good. We didn't put out awning due to tight spacing. Would not pay the full price for this park, but overall it worked okay for a short overnight. Cute little lake that had lots of kids and fishermen. Even though close to interstate, was not at all noisy. We camped at Lakeside Camping in a Motorhome.

Kansas State Fairgrounds, Hutchinson, Kansas

Date of Stay: July, 2014 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

This is a super stop for overnight in Hutchinson. We were here to visit family so didn't spend much time at our camper. Stayed 5 nights. We were one of 10 campers in the park. Would not want to stay here if park was full as sites would feel crowded. Great interior roads. Sites were solid even with a heavy rain. Simple sign in process for arrival on weekends or late at night. No shade to speak of. Level sites, buffalo grass, clean and quiet. Call the office to find out if any events going on. We would stay here again. We camped at Kansas State Fairgrounds in a Motorhome.

Hidden Valley Outfitters, Overnight RV Park, Lebanon, Missouri

Date of Stay: June, 2014 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

Hidden gem right next door to Bennett Springs State Park. Tons of hummingbirds the first day. 40' level concrete pads, spacious sites, grassy, clean, friendly staff, river front access for swimming or fishing, laundry and playground. Excellent phone and hot spot signal with 4G. We stayed here 3 weeks. Staff personally came to say hi. Only drawback is the shade trees are small. Most people used a canopy of some kind. This is in our top ten RV parks. There is a discount for each 7 days. We camped at Hidden Valley Outfitters, Overnight RV Park in a Motorhome.

Huzzah Valley Resort, Steelville, Missouri

Date of Stay: June, 2014 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

This is a nice facility on the river. Spacious, clean sites with a number of shade trees. Our only problem was lack of sites with a good solid surface for our motorhome. There had been a lot of rain in the area recently and many of the sites were too muddy to get our rig into. More gravel would have been better. The staff was very helpful and did allow us to move sites. Phone and wifi signal was almost non existent. We stayed here with a large group and used the open pavilion for mealtime. Very handy in the rain! We camped at Huzzah Valley Resort in a Motorhome.
