Magnolia RV Park Resort, Vicksburg, Mississippi

A much better park than the one's right next to the Casino. Nice, fenced dog area and nice layout. We camped at Magnolia RV Park Resort in a Motorhome.

Ameristar Vicksburg RV Park, Vicksburg, Mississippi

Date of Stay: July, 2007 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

Stopped by on the way from Dallas to Atlanta. Very good experience with the Diamond Jacks park in Shreveport. This park has been purchased by Ameristar and was priced accordingly. They quoted $27 for one night with no-internet, almost no space, and bad power. We ended up going to Magnolia about 1.5 miles away. We camped at Ameristar Vicksburg RV Park in a Motorhome.

Paradise Lake Resort, Nacogdoches, Texas

Date of Stay: July, 2007 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

Road into and thru park is full of potholes and washouts. Park had no power for 14 hours while we were there. Operators suggested we run on generator till they got it fixed. Finally left when it was becoming apparent they were not going to get the power fixed. WIFI very spotty - works next to office but nowhere else. We wouldn't stay here again. We camped at Paradise Lake Resort in a Motorhome.

Shreveport / Bossier City KOA (formerly Tall Pines RV Park), Shreveport, Louisiana

Date of Stay: July, 2007 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Decent overnight place. A little pricey for a gravel park with not much to do. If you are not into gaming, probably the best park in Shreveport, which isn't saying awhole lot. We camped at Shreveport / Bossier City KOA (formerly Tall Pines RV Park) in a Motorhome.

Big Oak RV Park, Tallapoosa, Georgia

Date of Stay: June, 2007 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

A nice park almost halfway between Atlanta and Birmingham. Easy on/off to I-20 and good pull thru spots for overnighters. No amenities close, so plan accordingly. I use this park 7 - 8 times per year as a safe, clean overnight spot. We camped at Big Oak RV Park in a Motorhome.

Fieldridge Acres, Charlotte, North Carolina

Date of Stay: June, 2007 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Park is full of full-time residents with one or two open spaces near the highway. Enjoy your sleep as "Jake and his Big Brakes" serenade you all night long. It's basically a gravel lot full of very old trailers and motorhomes. We planned on staying a week and left after 2 days. We camped at Fieldridge Acres in a Motorhome.

A very nice park convenient to Asheville and local shopping. Very easy access and about 15 minutes to the Biltmore. Nice pasture area in back for dogs. They were installing a pool when we were there. I would stay there again. We camped at Rutledge Lake RV Park in a Motorhome.

Mama Gertie's Hideaway Campground, Swannanoa, North Carolina

Date of Stay: June, 2007 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

A very nice campground that is VERY high in the air. Never thought I would see 8% grades east of the mississippi. Overall and excellent park with nice attention to detail. The drop in elevation from top to bottom is probably 200', so you aren't going to do a lot of walking. Out in the middle of nowhere, so you have to be content with the sound of nature. A very nicely done park, only needs a hot-tub and better wi-fi. We camped at Mama Gertie's Hideaway Campground in a Motorhome.

Navarre Beach Campground, Navarre, Florida

Date of Stay: May, 2007 - $72.00
Overall Rating:

A great spot on the gulf of Mexico. We were here for four days in spot EX-4, nice but remote. We moved down to a site on the beach and it was a completey different experience. It's a lot of money ($72.00) per day but highly recommended. You get a private deck and easy access to the beach. I found this park to be as nice as Topsail down the road. We would return. We camped at Navarre Beach Campground in a Motorhome.

Mountain Falls Luxury Motorcoach Resort (Class As Only), Lake Toxaway, North Carolina

Date of Stay: May, 2007 - $49.00
Overall Rating:

I would normally say 49 bucks a night is too much. But I think this place is worth it. Very nice sites with great landscaping and helpful staff. Great pool and spa were closed when we were there. Fantastic man-made waterfall. You have to have a nice Class A, so that makes it a little different crowd. But we enjoyed it and would certainly return. We camped at Mountain Falls Luxury Motorcoach Resort (Class As Only) in a Motorhome.

Topsail Hill State Preserve, Santa Rosa Beach, Florida

Date of Stay: May, 2007 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

The only 10 I have ever given. Excellent park, nice concrete pads, fantastic landscapes, very good water pressure. We stayed here over Memorial Day weekend and found it to be perfect. Warning.. Snakes were out and in full force. Several cotton mouths and 2 rattlers. Park guys said it was that time of year. Nobody was hurt, but they are scary to find in your camp. It's very hard to get reservations here, but we found that they always keep 10% available for first-come, first-serve drive-ups. That's how we got to stay a week of Memorial Day with no reservations. We camped at Topsail Hill State Preserve in a Motorhome.

Lincoln Parish Park, Ruston, Louisiana

Date of Stay: April, 2007 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

I think the secret is out on this one. Louisiana counties seems to take their parks seriously, and the details are evident here. Nice waterfront spots with great cement trails around the lake. An excellent county park which we highly recommend. We camped at Lincoln Parish Park in a Motorhome.

An excellent example of a county run park. Nice, big spaces. Fishing and hiking and trails. A little bit off the highway, but highly recommend. We use it as a stop between Atlanta and the Florida panhandle. We camped at Sherling Lake Park in a Motorhome.

A great overnight spot. Convenient to I-20 but far enough to be tranquil, safe and quiet. Not much to do in Meridian, but plenty of shopping. We camped at Benchmark RV Park in a Motorhome.
