Florida SKP Resort - Escapees Park (members only), Wauchula, Florida

Date of Stay: November, 2017 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

Must show Escapee membership card upon check in. Lush green park with lots of grass and palm trees. Large sites with FHU...wifi works well. 4 miles to Winn Dixie..7 to WM. Rural area park overlooks orange Grove on one side. Clean pool area. This is a great "time out" park to get away from the hustle and bustle and relax. Lots of rental options (FHU, overflow w 20 AMP, dry camp) which makes this a unique option. This is a co-op park, small community feel. No doubt visitors could participate in morning breakfast, and other social activities if desired. Nice area (not fenced) to walk dogs. Have proof of rabie shots. We camped at Florida SKP Resort - Escapees Park (members only) in a Motorhome.

Zachary Taylor RV Resort, Okeechobee, Florida

Overall Rating:

Convenient money saving location 4 miles from Publix Grocery. Friendly staff and friendly neighbors. Older park with mostly seasonals, some in rough shape. Grounds and roads very clean and good condition. Wifi free weak at site, better at pool. Their friendly people and liberal POA discount available even now during peak season are 2 big pluses. We camped at Zachary Taylor RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Florida scenic trail is nearby but difficult to find and closed going east. Very convenient to town and shopping. WM 7 miles, Publix 4 nights, good restaurant and shopping area. Lots of fishing, CH is on canal to Lake O. 441 is very busy and dangerous for biking. (Stay off due to narrow shoulder and fast heavy traffic.)

This is a beautiful park 1 mile in from Hwy 27 which means no traffic noise in most areas of the park. Spacious sites, take time to pick out 1 as the park has great variety of areas. Loop D is wooded...very nice. Pads are rough, old, broken up. Nice pools, paved roads (great for biking), setene clean lake, dogpark, walk or bike to Publix. Friendly staff. North Beach Camp Resort, St Augustine, Florida

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $65.00
Overall Rating:

CG is on a narrow penninsula with river on one side and ocean on the other. Lush vegetation and large spacious sites. Very clean grounds and pool. Area has been severely impacted by Hurricane Irma. Tree damage in park, washed out beaches, condemded homes...debris stacked along hey. Area will never be the same. Still a good location to visit the beach, St Augustine, etc. Good biking along hwy (dedicated bike lane). We camped at North Beach Camp Resort in a Motorhome.

Lorton VRE station (6 M) offers 2 easy ways into DC. Commuter Amtrak was direct to LEnfant station near Mall. ($8.40) Or use connector bus (371) at Lorton to/from Franconia Springfield Metro station which is the last stop on the Blue Line. Buy a smartrip metro pass for bus and metro use. Use VRE app for Amtrak commuter line. Good access to everything by foot from LEnfant.

We are TT Zone pass holders with the trails collection added on, giving us access to this park. Very convenient location off Garden State. FHU at site 214. Beautiful new pool and clubhouse with very nice landscaping. Friendly staff. This is the Jersey shore, carry bug spray. Mosquitos are still active late Sept. Very nice value, price reflects an estimate of our overnight costs with TT for zone pass and collections add on fee. We camped at Thousand Trails / Chestnut Lake in a Motorhome.

WM SC 9 mile north. Smithville is nearby with good shops and restaurants. There is a bridge between the park and Smithville that has a weight restriction on it...no MH and single lane. GPS properly programmed will take you around it.

Rock Cut State Park, Loves Park, Illinois

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

A bargain at $25 including admission (all inclusive) with electric at site and convenient 2 lane dump station on the way out. Checkin was fast, I registered at reserveamerica ahead of time to speed up the process. This is a large park with paved bike trails, a lake, lots of different camping loops, and picnic areas. Only a few miles from Target and other stores. Raceway noise was not a big deal although one should be aware of the possibility of it occuring. Very convenient location. Friendly agent at front office. We shall return. We camped at Rock Cut State Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Very well maintained full hookup sites with neatly cut grass and landscaped grounds. Convenient to casino but overlooks lots of open space, very green. Handy laundry and restrooms were new. Allowed to use hotel pool area with hot tub. Tribal tax adds $5 to bill plus state and local taxes, $97 for 2 nights. Casino buffet got low marks so we drove into Baraboo diner for dinner. Run down park capitalizing on it's excellent location. Almost impossible to level in a park like this. Had to disconnect water because there was so much air in their pipes. Everything is in a state of disrepair. The electricity worked! We camped at Hershey Conewago Campground in a Motorhome.
