Double Nickel Campground, Waco, Nebraska

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Arrived after a bad storm the night before and the owner was working hard getting everything back to normal. The couple that own the park are very friendly and eager to make your stay enjoyable. We will definitely stay here again. Internet is one of the best we've used. We camped at Double Nickel Campground in a Motorhome.

RV Village on Vine (formerly Shady Grove RV Park), Hays, Kansas

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

Daily rate quoted was the monthly rate. Pictures of the park and amenities on their site are undoubtedly photoshopped and do not in any way represent the actual park, they are blatant lies!!! Their website states that the park is completely renovated, lie. Pictures shown are not from this park, lie. Services listed: Free Hi Speed WI-FI on site, Fact: true but very sporadic service. Children Activities (horseshoes, tether ball, swing set, video games), Fact: no children activities, lie! Laundry Facility, website picture shows multiple machines, Fact: there is a laundry with 2 washers and dryers. Vending Machines, Fact: one machine. Bath House with Hot Showers, Fact: there is a men and women's shower (1 stall for each) that are marginal to say the least. Appears that they are not maintained daily (dirty) and lighting in both is awful. 24/7 Support, Fact: Have no idea what this means? Discount to the "Historic Restaurant Als Chickenette", Fact: true, the owner of the park also owns the restaurant. This park has been under different names through the years .. Sunflower RV Park, Shady Grove RV Park and now, RV Village on Vine. We've stayed here in the past and the park has deteriorated from our last stay. It's really a sad situation and such an inconvenience to see RV'ers come into the park only to turn around and leave. Bigger rigs towing a vehicle often have to disconnect to get turned around. Interstate 70 passes on the north side of Hays and the rv park is located 2.5 miles through town to the south side of Hays. I would estimate that it requires 30 to 45 minutes for a traveler to exit the interstate, go to the park, turn around and return to the interstate. I'm posting this review to warn travelers to pay no attention to the park's website. It does not represent the park and is completely deceptive!! We camped at RV Village on Vine (formerly Shady Grove RV Park) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Hays is a wonderful community with great shopping and restaurants. Spend some time visiting the historic downtown area and take the history walk throughout the business district. Other attractions include Fort Hays State University, a regional health center, a new sports complex, a beautiful water park and a regional airport to name a few. Another plus is the location. Hays is approximately half-way between Kansas City and Denver.

By the Lake Rv Park, Ardmore, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: March, 2017 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

WOW!!! Great park less than a mile (exit 24 - hard surfaced road) off I-35. New in September, 2016 and was built with RV'ers in mind. Utilities are fine except I had to pull to the front of the site as I didn't want to detach the pickup Iand my sewer hose wasn't long enough. All roads are new blacktop and sites are concrete with wide entrance and exit into and out of the sites. WiFi is excellent ... which is very unusual! Cable at site but didn't use. Will definitely use this park again when in the area. We camped at By the Lake Rv Park in a Motorhome.

New Life RV Park, Georgetown, Texas

Date of Stay: March, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Only stayed one night but give the park an overall excellent rating. Easy on and off I-35 (don't use the toll road!) ... a little preplanning is a good idea. I have a map program on the computer and use it to keep my GPS honest. They both agreed on the best route to the park. Park was neat, clean and friendly. Hookups were in excellent condition. Will definitely use it again. We camped at New Life RV Park in a Motorhome.

Fun-N-Sun RV Resort , San Benito, Texas

Date of Stay: March, 2017 - $11.00
Overall Rating:

Daily rate was for a first timer 30-day stay. Electricity was $3.30 per day above the daily rate. Fun-N-Sun is the oldest of the 10 Encore parks between McAllen and Brownsville. During our stay, we made a day trip to visit the other 9 Encore parks and found that each had their own attraction. Fun-N-Sun is definitely an active park with activities that should meet everyone's expectations. I won't begin to identify the activities but instead would encourage anyone interested to go to their website for more information. If there is one disadvantage with this park it would have to be the narrow streets which aren't in the best condition. One other note to add, I'd estimate that 50% of the park are 'park models' and for the most part are in segregated areas, however there are still many that are intermingled with RV's. We made our reservations for 3 months in 2018 before we departed. We camped at Fun-N-Sun RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Nature's Own RV Resort, Kingsville, Texas

Date of Stay: February, 2017 - $17.00
Overall Rating:

Excellent park, very clean and well maintained. Wide concrete interior roads with both concrete and gravel sites. Great laundry, nice pool (didn't use), and garbage pickup each morning at site. The utility setup is the best I've seen. Everything on concrete including the sewer. Only negative is Hwy 77 in front of the park. Didn't bother us but heard complaints from others that are more sensitive to noise. We camped at Nature's Own RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Lazy L&L Campground, New Braunfels, Texas

Date of Stay: January, 2017 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

Daily rate was for a week stay. We enjoyed our stay at the park. It's remote but in a beautiful valley with the guadalupe river running behind our site. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We had planned to stay longer however Verizon is very iffy (if at all) and we needed a good connection for business purposes so had to move on. It's a very welcoming and friendly RV community with snowbirds that have returned to the park for many years. If we could get rid of the dang phone, or if Verizon would improve the coverage, we'd for sure return. We camped at Lazy L&L Campground in a Motorhome.

Gulf Coast RV Resort, Beaumont, Texas

Date of Stay: January, 2017 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

Daily rate was for a week stay. There are many pros for the park. Good streets and pads, not parked on top of each other, friendly staff, great free breakfast and well maintained grounds. The cons include sewer connections are too low in the ground which create a situation that's very difficult to obtain an 'environmentally acceptable' tight seal. I have upmost respect for people working and making a living however in my judgment, the park should located them near the front so when leaving for work at 4:30 or 5am, they don't bother others that may not plan to arise that early. And lastly, the park was a marsh in the grassy areas. This is our second time for staying there and I excused the poor drainage the first time was probably due to recent heavy rains. However, our stay this time was exactly the same way .. perhaps it was again due to heavy rains? All I know is that we're two for two. Each of our stays were in January, four years apart so it's possible that was simply a coincidence or the month of January is always wet? I can't speak for any other time of the year. We camped at Gulf Coast RV Resort in a Motorhome.

RV Village on Vine (formerly Shady Grove RV Park), Hays, Kansas

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Daily rate was for a weekly stay. This park was previously Sunflower RV Park and was a disgrace to the city of Hays. It is now under new ownership and work is being done to make necessary changes. While it is far from a 10 rating, it did meet our needs for our stay. It's a bare bones park however the pad was level and the utilities (electricity, water and sewer) were conveniently located at the site. This park works fine to visit family, Fort Hays State University, the sports complex or Hays Medical Center. There are no amenities at the park. We camped at RV Village on Vine (formerly Shady Grove RV Park) in a Motorhome.

Rocky's Convenience Store & Campground, Perry, Florida

Date of Stay: April, 2016 - $13.00
Overall Rating:

Rate quoted is based on a monthly rate. This is a very nice small park with easy access off Hwy 98. There are a few extended stay residents however they take pride in their sites and are not an issue. We originally planned to stay only a couple days and decided to extend our stay ... we've now been here 5 weeks. We give this park an excellent rating as it meets our expectations . It's quiet, well maintained, all sites are level with full hook-ups, some shady and some with sun. The pull throughs are in the center of the loop with easy access and the back ins are around the outside of the loop. If you need all the bells and whistles of a resort, just keep driving as this park probably won't meet your expectations. There is a nice convenience store/deli owned by the same person that owns the park and is an easy walking distance from the campsites. We camped at Rocky's Convenience Store & Campground in a Motorhome.

Villager RV Park, Wildwood, Florida

Overall Rating:

Nice place to stay when in the area. The daily rate was for a week's stay. We were in the area to visit friends at The Villages and the location worked great. There were several extended stay residents in the park but were not a problem. Lots of trees but we were able to get satellite reception. Internet was very good. Not wanting to be picky but if I have any complaint, it would be the sap on my tow vehicle and motorhome.
