These ratings are high only due to its location. It is the only game in town, so... We camped at Fishing Bridge Campground (NPS Campground) in a Travel Trailer.

E-F loop was unpaved. If you get these at check-in, ask for AB or CD. The dust in the dry summer is unbearable.

This is a beautiful park. The owners are very much into flowers everywhere. The sites are level with lots of shade trees and plenty of room between. We would definitely recommend and stay longer next time. We camped at Jim & Mary's RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Loop 289 RV Park, Lubbock, Texas

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

So, I made reservations 60 days out. They did not have those upon arrival. There was a softball tourney in town & park was full. Attendant acted as if he was doing me a favor finding a spot.

There are other parks around. Find one of those. I will not stay here again and do not recommend even as a stop-over. We camped at Loop 289 RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Estes Park KOA, Estes Park, Colorado

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $60.00
Overall Rating:

Folks are very nice and accommodating. Sites are really tight. It is next to a riding stable with about 50 horses, so downwind is interesting. If dry, it is very dusty. The cable just change, so one had to ask for a "box" to view. No one told us that until the last day. We camped at Estes Park KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Don't stay over July 4. There is a mobile home park next door with lots of fireworks exploding. We found spent bottle rockets in driveway behind our rig.

Park owner is very nice and cares about your stay. The pull-throughs come off the highway toward the park. There is some highway noise, but we have heard worse. There is a McDonalds within walking distance. We would stay here again for a night stopover. We camped at Wyoming Gardens in a Travel Trailer.

Fredericksburg, Texas KOA, Fredericksburg, Texas

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $59.00
Overall Rating:

Hwy 290 is a busy road, so you get some day noise, but not enough to be bothersome. Night is quiet.

Attendants are very responsive to your needs. Sites are gravel, moderately level, and long. The further back sites have plenty of shade. We were in E01 with a shared paved patio, although our neighbors never came out. We camped at Fredericksburg, Texas KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Fredericksburg is about 6 miles away. LBJ State Park is 11 miles toward Austin. Old Tunnel SP is about 11 miles away.

Avoid facing west toward Hwy 1373 (and Shell station) in spring and summer as it gets very hot on sunny days.

Go visit the Longhorns behind the dog park.

Frog City RV Park, Duson, Louisiana

Date of Stay: March, 2015 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here as a base for exploring Lafayette and surrounds. The site was crushed rock, but level. Our site was the first row in the park. The park is located conveniently off I-10 just behind Roady's Truck Stop. That made for lots of traffic noise round the clock. Still the park is clean. The restroom/showers are extremely clean. The staff is very helpful.

Our rig is 26' long. We camped at Frog City RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Lafayette is about 5 miles east on I-10, or US-90. Rayne, "Frog City," is just 5 miles west on US-90 and a quaint place to visit with an interesting history.

Don's Meat Market is between the park and Lafayette with great boudain and Cajun spices. We ate at Fezzo's at the same exit our last night and rate it 4-forks for food & service.

What a jewel! Sweet 9-hole golf course, very well kept. Sites 4-7 offer fairway views. Nice pool for hot Texas afternoons. Most sites have shade trees. Nice hiking trail along the creek. Within 5 miles of really great Texas BBQ joints...yum! We camped at Lockhart State Park in a Travel Trailer.

South Llano River State Park, Junction, Texas

Date of Stay: July, 2014 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

This is a pretty park close enough for a weekender from Austin or San Antonio. Sites are either packed gravel or cement. Any of the "5"s are good (25, 35, 45). Check the website for locations. Restrooms are clean. Nice hiking trails for birders. South Llano River offers a cool break during hot Texas summer days. Book early because it fills quickly on weekends. We camped at South Llano River State Park in a Travel Trailer.
