Lewis & Clark Golf & RV Park, Astoria, Oregon

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

This was a nice park situated for very convenient exploring of Astoria and the surrounding area. The sites were plenty long enough for our motorhome and car. The width was OK but the neighboring sewer line was right on the edge of our awning space. There are some other sites that alternate back in spots with pull in spots that would remedy this issue if you can get one.

Overall it was a very nice stay and we will definitely be back when we are in the area. We camped at Lewis & Clark Golf & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Daingerfield State Park, Daingerfield, Texas

Date of Stay: April, 2015 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for one night while heading west. Once we arrived It was so nice we would have stayed another night if there were space available. The Big Pine camping area really is big rig friendly. We were in a spot near the lake with a great view. The spot was nearly level on asphalt. The sites have a fire ring and aluminum picnic table. There are walking trails around the lake and from the camp sites to the swimming area. Due to the recent rain a couple of the sites were a bit muddy in places. We chose a site that was drier since we arrived early and most sites were still vacant. They assigned us a spot on check in and told us to call and let them know if we were in a different spot. We will definitely stay here again if in the area and will try to make it for more than one night. We camped at Daingerfield State Park in a Motorhome.

Red Bay Self Service RV Park, Red Bay, Alabama

Date of Stay: March, 2015 - $14.00
Overall Rating:

This is a gravel lot with space for ten RVs. The spaces are level with good hookups. There is an "office" where you can go to deposit payment as it is a self serve lot. While we were there they brought in fresh gravel and spent time keeping the lot grated and maintained. The campground is mostly used by people in town for service at the Tiffin service center down the street but there were others there as well. We would stay again if in the area. We camped at Red Bay Self Service RV Park in a Motorhome.

Spartanburg NE / Gaffney KOA, Gaffney, South Carolina

Date of Stay: March, 2015 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The restrooms and laundry room were very clean. The pool and mini golf were being prepared for the summer season. The biggest issue was the placement of the utilities at some sites. On our site the sewer connection was at the back of the site. It was not upright but was at about a 45 degree angle and had no threaded connection. Dumping the tank we needed to be sure there was a solid foot on the connection. We will most likely stay again when in the area. The price reflects a two weeks staying at a monthly rate. We camped at Spartanburg NE / Gaffney KOA in a Motorhome.

Southern Star RV Park, Van Horn, Texas

Date of Stay: January, 2015 - $17.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed for one night on our way east on I-10. We were greeted as we pulled in and after a quick check-in we were shown to a site. Full hook ups including 50 amp. Cable was available if we had needed it. Very friendly great overnight stop. We will certainly stop here again if needing a place passing this way. We camped at Southern Star RV Park in a Motorhome.

Ainsworth State Park, Cascade Locks, Oregon

Date of Stay: August, 2014 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

We arrived early on a Sunday figuring that with no reservations accepted this would be the best course of action. That worked out well as people were just pulling out. We were able to get a pull through site with plenty of room to deploy the slides on both sides. There are a number of low branches to navigate around and walking the loop first would be a good idea to find the best vacant and most level site. Overall a great location to camp while visiting the many local sites. We camped at Ainsworth State Park in a Motorhome.
