1000 Islands / Association Island KOA , Henderson Harbor, New York

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

Nice campground. Ample, level sites. Good views of the water. This is a fairly large campground where all units are removed for the winter. There are units parked for the summer, but none of the usual signs of full time campsites. The staff is friendly, the manager is quite helpful. We enjoyed our stay so we extended it by another day. It is a relatively quiet park even when filling up for the weekend. The only down side of our stay was the lack of water on our last day. Not sure how long it lasted, but there was no water when we left around 11:00. Until then the pressure and quality of water was excellent. All hookups were easy and well placed. Definitely plan a return visit. We camped at 1000 Islands / Association Island KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Sacketts Harbor is worth the short drive. Small, but a lovely town. Due to the location it does get windy.

Ledgeview RV Park, Lake George, New York

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice campground. It was our second visit. Our site was well spaced on the door side, but very close on the other. So much so that the receptionist assured me that they said they would have no fires in the pit, since it was so close to our slide. Most the time it is a quiet park, but many Canadian visitors arrive in groups with small children making it more noisy. There was a thunderstorm during out stay resulting in quite a bit of water building up in the run off areas. Our site was partially submerged for awhile. Since the park is covered in pine trees, the needles made quite a mess. The roads are good, the park very clean and well organized and the staff is friendly. The pull through sites are a good choice. We camped at Ledgeview RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Rocky Springs Campground, Mercer, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very nice campground. Everything is well kept and clean. Nice pool and playground. Our site was fairly level, adequately spaced and not hard to get into. We had an escort, Joe, who took us to our site and assisted with maneuvering in. He was friendly and knowledgeable. The owners are extremely friendly and helpful. They even deliver ice and firewood to your site for a fair price. They do their best to make you feel welcome and appreciated.
The only down side to our site was a large tree with roots that extended into our door area. Since there was a dry spell the roads were very dusty. Both were mild irritations not problems.
The transient and seasonal areas are separate. We found the seasonal people to be quite friendly. All of their sites are tidy and kept to look like they are part of a campground, not a trailer park.
We would camp here again without hesitation. Our week there was very pleasant.
We camped here in a travel trailer. We camped at Rocky Springs Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Niagara Hartland RV Resort, Gasport, New York

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $19.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice campground, well off the road and quiet. The price reflects a charge for metered electric which is deducted from a cash deposit. Sites are good sized with well placed utilities which all worked very well. Water pressure was excellent and electricity was consistent. We had to do some minor leveling. Our site remained free of pooled water after each rain. We also had a concrete pad. Nothing fancy but well kept. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We definitely plan on returning. We camped at Niagara Hartland RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

The Villages RV Park at Turning Stone, Verona, New York

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

The overall appearance of the entire campground is very nice. The pavement on the paved sites is for the camping unit. The "patio" area was either grass and gravel at the open sites or dirt with very little gravel at the shaded sites on the back in loop we were at. Our site required some leveling. Hookups were easy to access and use, but required three sections of sewer hose for the site we were on. All the staff was helpful as well as polite. The price reflects a Good Sam discount as well as the 10.75% tax that is levied by the nation. The disclosure is mixed with other info at the bottom of the rates tab on their web site. There is no mention of it at check in or is it reflected on the receipt. Overall our stay was pleasant. We camped at The Villages RV Park at Turning Stone in a Travel Trailer.

Adventure Bound Camping Resort at Deer Run, Schaghticoke, New York

Date of Stay: June, 2015 - $46.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very busy park. Many activities for children, golf cart/vehicle traffic and many seasonals. Nearly all sites are pull thru and fairly large. Our site was clean, but the restrooms were showing signs of age and heavy use. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. Since we are an older couple with no children we probably would no stay here again. We camped at Adventure Bound Camping Resort at Deer Run in a Travel Trailer.

Wild Duck Campground & RV Park (Adult Only), Scarborough, Maine

Date of Stay: June, 2015 - $51.00
Overall Rating:

The price is for a 50 amp. pull through. We asked for the pull thru to avoid having the awning side facing the road. Extremely well maintained campground. Sites vary in size, but are small. Our pull through site was large enough for slides and awnings with little room in between. The surface was mostly packed sand which was ok when dry, but stuck to anything that came in contact with it when wet. We were on a grass site the last time we stayed here and it was much nicer and wider. The owner and staff are all very pleasant and helpful. The campground is very quiet. We would stay here again. We camped at Wild Duck Campground & RV Park (Adult Only) in a Travel Trailer.

Peppermint Park Camping Resort, Plainfield, Massachusetts

Date of Stay: June, 2015 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Nicely maintained campground. Grounds are well kept. The sites are large with decent privacy. It is primarily a seasonal park. They are well kept with no permanent structures such as roofs and buildings. It was very quiet during our stay from Sunday to Friday. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Our only problem was standing water after a rain that pooled around our door and awning area. The owner stopped by after I complained to the desk. She apologized and assured us that the problem would be taken care of. We agreed that the site required additional fill. It took awhile to dry out after the rain stopped, but we were able to use the area the next afternoon. We would stay here again. We camped at Peppermint Park Camping Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Branches of Niagara Campground and Resort, Grand Island, New York

Date of Stay: September, 2014 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Overall an excellent campground. Price is offs eason with a 7 night discount. Everything is well kept. The grounds and all buildings are clean, and nice looking. All staff was friendly and helpful. Our site, #52, was level with a gravel pad. Ample room with no close neighbors. The road crossed rather closely between us and the lake. I would give a higher rating, but the water pressure was barely adequate. No problem with the water quality. We would definitely return to this campground. We camped at Branches of Niagara Campground and Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Tumble Hill Campground, Cohocton, New York

Date of Stay: August, 2014 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Nice quiet park on a hillside. Steep entry, difficult for some. Mixture of sites, some large, some small. All fairly well kept. That is the positive. The very large negative was the lack of water. No mention of the problems when making reservations, but shown a water schedule after making the payment. The owner said we could fill our own tank, but it probably wouldn't be necessary. However, the schedule was far from accurate. We only had water for about two hours during a two night stay. Also, the boil water warning form the county health department was only posted in the bath house. One of our neighbors was drinking it before finding out. On the second day a camp host asked us to sign off regarding the boil water notice. This was our second try at this campground. The first included very loud and drunken behavior by seasonal workers. We will not stay here again. We camped at Tumble Hill Campground in a Travel Trailer.
