Indian Lake Travel Resort, Manistique, Michigan

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

Arrived and left within minutes. Called the day prior to confirm the site would be wide and wifi was readily available, was assured of both amenities. Reserved a FHU a site to accommodate our 35' 5th wheel, but the assigned site was very narrow (lined with trees and uphill), and wifi code only good for a single device (laptop or iPad, not phones). Cash/check only, no cc. 95% seasonal or residents, not scenic. A single swing set immediately next to trees was the "play area". Save yourself the headache and go a few miles around the lake for a lake front site triple the size and half the price!!! We camped at Indian Lake Travel Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Poncho's Pond RV Park, Ludington, Michigan

Date of Stay: August, 2014 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

What a fantastic park! We arrived and were guided back to our site, directed in by the most helpful lady. The site was flat and level, with a nice concrete patio. Other sites had full slabs with the patio. The park was completely paved and very clean, with a fenced dog run and nice landscaping. The train was fairly quiet (no horn), and the outdoor pool was roomy and family/adult friendly. There were activities scheduled, you can walk to McDonald's, or drive a few minutes to the city, which has some really nice shops and parks. A "must see" is the "House of Flavors" for some delicious ice cream and sundaes! The whole park is full hookups with cable, and the Wi-Fi signal was always strong! The staff was friendly and we will definitely be visiting this park again in the future. We camped at Poncho's Pond RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Holiday Shore Campground and Resort, Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin

Date of Stay: August, 2014 - $49.00
Overall Rating:

If you have a big rig and want full hookup, camp elsewhere. We have a 35' rig and had to drive with extreme caution to make our way through the narrow, winding, steep maze full of trees and dumpsters to get to our campsite. It had electric, water, and sewer, but it was located in a field in the back corner of the campground, all by itself, with a "lovely view" of a storage/boneyard of old campers. The antenna picked up zero TV channels and the Wi-Fi is only available in the camp store (a 15 min walk from full hookups, unless you want to rent a golf cart for $58/day), but even there our phones couldn't locate a Wi-Fi signal. The only redeeming quality of this park is that they offer free water park passes to Chula Vista, which is a 5 min drive down the road. When I went back to the office to ask how we'd ever get our camper out of the "one way" maze, she suddenly remembered that there was another gated entry closer to the full hook-up area, and I had to leave a credit card to secure a magnetic key pass for the weekend. If we weren't exhausted from the drive that day, we wouldn't have stayed there. We camped at Holiday Shore Campground and Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

TeePee Camprground, Mackinaw City, Michigan

Date of Stay: August, 2014 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

You can't beat the location (1 mile from the city), but the sites are small and narrow. We had a tricky time backing our 35' fifth wheel into the assigned site. The park was very dusty as every car that drives through kicks up quite a bit, even when driving slowly. The power (30 amp) was insufficient, as we tripped a breaker quite easily with 2 small appliances. The people were nice and the park was clean, but next time we will stay in St. Ignace. We camped at TeePee Camprground in a Fifth Wheel.

Munising Tourist Park Campground, Munising, Michigan

Date of Stay: August, 2014 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

You can't beat the view of Lake Superior at this park! Some sites actually on the lake, and access to the beach. It was wonderful. The park should consider treating the road, as it was very dusty every time someone drove through, and the Wi-Fi signal wasn't too dependable. It's just west of the downtown area, not too far from all the touristy stuff. Explore the local waterfalls, tour the rocks from the water, and grab dessert at the Falling Rock Cafe (the Munising Marvel sundae is exceptional). The park is nice, no trouble getting in and out with a big rig, and the owners were friendly and helpful. We will definitely be returning to the area and staying here again! We camped at Munising Tourist Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Rivers Bend Campground, Iron Mountain, Michigan

Date of Stay: August, 2014 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

Such a memorable place! The park is so picturesque and peaceful, sitting on the Menominee River. Many seasonals, but everyone is so friendly! The sites are a nice size, and the owner guides you in himself! The WiFi signal was quite weak, but that was our only issue, if you consider it one. We drove a mile down the road and climbed the Pine Mountain Ski Jump, visited the beautiful Veterans Memorial, ate a delicious lunch at Legends (at the ski lodge), and hiked along the Piers Gorge (a short drive to Norway, MI). Bring a raft and float down the river in the campground, it's a great place to relax! We camped at Rivers Bend Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
