Skidaway Island State Park, Savannah, Georgia

Date of Stay: January, 2009 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Cable TV is a joke, very few of the 13 channels are viewable, we saw many antennas up. WI-FI was only available in front of the office, they do have a picnic table on the porch to sit and access the internet. Staff was friendly and helpful. It was hard to distinguish the campsite, lots of dead leaves, etc. You just ride around and pick wherever you want to pull in. This campground is "rustic" there is much fallen small trees and limbs to pick from if you want a campfire. The roads through out the campground are very narrow, fortunately we didn't meet anyone going in or out. No signs up so guess the roads are two way. Its a good $20 a night campground. We camped at Skidaway Island State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Charlottesville KOA, Charlottesville, Virginia

Date of Stay: October, 2006 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Poorly laid out campground, small sites. I think they tried to see how many sites they could fit in and didn't do a very good job of it. There are some trees that if removed would make backing in easier. We had one local tv station and even that wasn't clear. WIFI worked ok though. The road in is narrow and if someone is checking in no one else, even in a car, can come in or leave. The dump station is the same way, its on the left side of the only road in or out, so if someone is dumping everyone waits. We won't be staying here again. We camped at Charlottesville KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Killens Pond State Park, Felton, Delaware

Date of Stay: October, 2006 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

This campground is not big rig friendly. The first loop we tried to get in we were scraping the trees so decided to park the rig and walk through the loops until we could find one we could drive through. The site was very tight and hard to back in. We camped here two years ago but it seems the trees and vegetation have taken over since then. We arrived on Sunday afternoon and stayed 3 days; there was never anyone at the office the whole duration of our stay. We made several trips by the office and had to finally make a couple of calls to track someone down to pay. We won't be staying here again. We camped at Killens Pond State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

WoodSmoke Campground, Unicoi, Tennessee

Date of Stay: September, 2006 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Campground was over priced, it would have been a nice $15 a night campground. We don't always visit/use the campground restrooms but they did have the cleanest ones we have ever been in. The sites are small, hard to back into, we could not drive directly out from our site but had to drive into an area, back up then pull out! There was also nothing for children, and only 2 local tv stations. We attended a rally and there was no shelter or even a campsite big enough for our group to meet and eat. We camped at WoodSmoke Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Mama Gertie's Hideaway Campground, Swannanoa, North Carolina

Date of Stay: September, 2006 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Great overnight campground, easy off and on I 40, nice friendly campground host. The sites were small but fine for over night, not really a destination campground. They are adding more campsites and if it hadn't been raining there would probably been road equipment noises. We camped at Mama Gertie's Hideaway Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Corbin / Laurel Lake KOA, Corbin, Kentucky

Date of Stay: September, 2006 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Very friendly campground host, clean level sites with several sewer hookup for each sites, no guessing if your sewer hose will reach! We didn't notice the traffic noise from I 75 and the train wasn't loud enough to disturb us. If you were in a pop-up or tent or nearer the highway it may make a difference. They now have free WIFI and it worked great the whole time we were there. This was a destination campground for us as we were visiting several places in the area and it was centrally located. We would definitely stay there again if in the area. The only complaint was the short office hours! We camped at Corbin / Laurel Lake KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Jetty Park Campground, Cape Canaveral, Florida

Date of Stay: January, 2006 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here as we had heard good things about it,but was disappointed. It is over rated and would have been a nice $20 a night campground. The site we were assigned had a metal light pole right in our turning area, if the people across from us had not had their tow vehicle out we could not have gotten into the site. The sewer and power connections were on the wrong side of the rv, had to use extensions and run them under the rv. We did enjoy watching the cruise ships pass behind our site and its convenient to the casino cruise ship, but won't be staying there again! We camped at Jetty Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Bulow RV Resort, Flagler Beach, Florida

Date of Stay: January, 2006 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

This could really be a great campground. We have stayed there 3 times, even though its always in a state of disrepair! They only have one dial up modem, if the office person goes to lunch or the office closes you are out of luck, even then there is a long line. Once someone was doing business on that one phone line! The tall pines and big lots could be great but it seems no one that works there has a clue as to what is going on! We camped at Bulow RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.
