Prado Regional Park, Chino, California

Date of Stay: August, 2014 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Had a wonderful stay at Prado. It is a large regional park with paddle boats, golf, target shooting, fishing and other activities within the park or very nearby. A spacious setting on a sizable Lake created by the Prado dam. The individual campsites are very roomy with a lot of space between sites. Camp sites 50-70 have large cement pads but 1-49 are also very nice. Most sites have shade and there are many lovely trees throughout the park. Lots of beautiful space for walking the dogs and many large open areas. We stayed here four nights in our 30' rig and enjoyed it thoroughly. We'll definitely be back. Maximum stay is 14 days. The park personnel were all very pleasant and helpful. We camped at Prado Regional Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Santiago Event Center RV Park, Silverado, California

Date of Stay: July, 2014 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This was our worst camping experience in two years. Frankly, I am surprised that there are so many positive reviews. My wife and I found this campground to be very dismal. The RV parking on the upper level is dirty and has almost no aesthetic appeal. It's like a big dirt parking lot dug out of the side of the hill. There are no views to speak of, just a big wall of dirt out back and construction out front. The picnic tables for each site appear to have never been cleaned and are covered with stains and debris. There was no Wi-Fi or phone service in the RV area so you had to walk down the hill to the community center for any services of that sort and even there it was spotty. We were scheduled to stay one week but left after 3 nights - as soon as we could locate an alternative park. I certainly would not recommend this location to any RVers. It is a difficult drive in though a poorly maintained road and the park itself is dreary at best. We camped at Santiago Event Center RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
