Double J Campground and RV Park, Chatham, Illinois

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

This park is great - even though it is next to I-55, traffic noise is minimal, probably because of all the trees in the park. They have a great playground area for kids. My husband was impressed with the lady at check-in. She gave him all sorts of information about local sights, directions, parking, etc. We would highly recommend this RV park. We camped at Double J Campground and RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Holiday RV Park, North Platte, Nebraska

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Conveniently located near interstate and the sights and stores. Quiet clean park with shade which was good since the temps were around 100 at the time we were there. Plenty of room on the site for our 34' fifth-wheel and truck. We camped at Holiday RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

You have to go to the Golden Spike Tower, even if you aren't into trains. It is amazing how they maneuver all the trains around.

Walnut Woods State Park, West Des Moines, Iowa

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $21.00
Overall Rating:

A real gem, if you don't mind being a bit out of the way from things. Good over-night spot. Be sure to bring your bug spray. Very quiet. Lots of birds singing. Very restful. Nice big sites, ours was full hookup. Can reserve through Reserve America. We camped at Walnut Woods State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

CasaBlanca Resort-Casino, Mesquite, Nevada

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

We usually like to have a pull-thru, just makes it easier, but not in this case. The sites are narrow and we had to "jockey" to position so our slideout on each side would work. We decided it would have been better to ask for a back-in. Otherwise, it is a good deal for the money. And you can use the pool at the Casino and, of course, take in the buffet and the gambling in the Casino. Of course you can park for free near the front, but when you have 105 degree heat, that's not really an option. We camped at CasaBlanca Resort-Casino in a Fifth Wheel.

Grand Junction KOA, Grand Junction, Colorado

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

One of the better KOA's we've stayed in. Very clean, very nice sites - lots of space. It looks like they had good tent sites also with covered dining areas for each one. I would definitely recommend this campground. We camped at Grand Junction KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

The only "bad" part of this campground was that our GPS took us through Grand Junction before we finally got on the road out of town towards the campground. So it was a little hard for us to find, but that may just have been our GPS.

Butterfield RV Resort & Observatory, Benson, Arizona

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here with an RV group. The owner let us use their meeting room for our pot luck supper. The facility was spotless!. They were able to put our group all in sites next to each other. Very nice sites, clean, spacious, had small trees between sites. There are many RV parks in the area, but this appears to be about the best. Enjoyed our stay here. The only negative for me was the internet - it is Tengo - and I have never had good experience with this service. It is usually slow and often hard to connect to the internet through it. However, it was free, so what can I say? We camped at Butterfield RV Resort & Observatory in a Fifth Wheel.

Ohiopyle State Park, Ohiopyle, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

This is another great state park. We went there to visit Falling Water which is close by. Then we discovered we could go to the 9/11 Memorial only about an hour away. Also discovered many other things to do in the area which we didn't have time to take in. Park is quite remote and a little difficult to access, but well worth the effort. We didn't heed to warning about the one route which is very steep and not recommended, so be warned - it IS steep. Also, as is many time the case with state parks, it is dry camping, but we did have 50 amp service - surprise! We camped at Ohiopyle State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Holiday Hill Campground, Springwater, New York

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

This park is a "find" for anyone who wants to explore the Finger Lakes area of New York. It is a quiet, well-maintained park that has been around for many years. There is a caution about getting to the park because of the steep hills in the area, but once there you will be glad you made the trip. Sites are spacious and many are shaded. It is also not that far from Corning Glass Works and the city of Rochester which has the George Eastman House and many other places of interest. (We used to live in the area so we may be a little prejudice) :-) We camped at Holiday Hill Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Lums Pond State Park, Bear, Delaware

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very nice state park. It is off the highway so there is no traffic noise and there are lots of trees. The entry was a little hard to find - it is on the South side of the park. We were there mid-week so the park was practically empty. Sites are spacious and shaded. There are not many options for RV parks in DE, but we thought this was a good "find". We camped at Lums Pond State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

American Heritage RV Park, Williamsburg, Virginia

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

This park is a few miles from historic Williamsburg, but not so far that it is a problem. The front part of the park is shaded, but the back where we were was open and sunny and it was quite hot during our stay. It appears that the back part is an expansion. They had a nice pool which we did not use because we were sightseeing all days we were there. We would definitely stay there again. We camped at American Heritage RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Asheville East KOA, Swannanoa, North Carolina

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Park was nice; friendly, helpful staff, escort to our site which I have come to expect from KOA's . Pool was large and very welcome after the day of travel. It got crowded on Friday for the weekend event they had planned, but we left on Saturday, so it was not a problem. We camped at Asheville East KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Hot Springs National Park KOA, Hot Springs, Arkansas

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This park is VERY hilly. They had an escort to our site and he also assisted us with backing in which was a benefit because it was very tight. This was a holiday weekend so the park was full, but still it was quiet. A nice setting with lots of trees. We camped at Hot Springs National Park KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Amarillo Ranch RV Park, Amarillo, Texas

Date of Stay: June, 2015 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

When you arrive, the front part of the park looks very nice, but then we were led to our site (a feature I always like) and it was in the back part, which wasn't treed and looked like it had just been added on as an after-thought. We only spent one night there so it wasn't really a problem. We camped at Amarillo Ranch RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Enchanted Trails RV Park & Trading Post, Albuquerque, New Mexico

Date of Stay: June, 2015 - $21.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here before many years ago. Not much has changed since then. It is your basic RV park and good for what we did which was only an overnight stay. It is convenient - right off I-40. Camping World is right next door. We camped at Enchanted Trails RV Park & Trading Post in a Fifth Wheel.
