Trailer Village (Concessionnaire Operated), Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

If you've never seen the Grand Canyon you must see it. Our third time. Stayed 3 days in a 43' motorhome. Access park from the south on HWY 89 from Williams. Check-in at the front booth was fast and easy. Big Rig friendly, paved roads. Our site was level, some shade. Utilities worked well. No cable, no ATT service poor OTA channels. Lots of wildlife... mornings you'll see Elk walking around CG. Good bus system to park areas. Use the buses instead of car to get to where you want to go. Be aware, rude drivers, saw several instances where groups were separated because once drivers close doors they leave. You'll stay busy, lots to do and see. This time there was a fire restriction so no campfires were allowed. The visitors center has good info movie. We camped at Trailer Village (Concessionnaire Operated) in a Motorhome.

Tombstone RV Park and Campground, Tombstone, Arizona

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed 3 nights in a 43' motorhome to visit Tombstone and Bixby. Easy access from I-10. Check-in was friendly and efficient. Big rig friendly. Road surface is small river rocks throughout park. Our site was FHU PT with cable. Utilities work well. Some shade with a picnic table and grass. ATT service was good. Plenty of room to walk dog with a nice doggy park with bags. Showers are a little tight. Park is just 5 min outside Tombstone. Town is open 9am-5pm. Free parking is available. There is a main street closed to auto traffic with a dirt surface giving the town an old time feel. The stagecoach runs though town with paid guests as town characters walk around town including the Earp brothers. Take in the shoot-out at the OK Corral. Visit Bixby and do the Mine Tour. You go 1,500 feet into the mine on a single seat train escorted by a 80 year old tour guide who began working in the mine at 15 years old. Excellent info and experience. Will stay here again if in the area. We camped at Tombstone RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

The MotorCoach Resort, Chandler, Arizona

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed two nights in a 43' motorhome to pick up family at airport. Easy on-off from I-10. Easy check-in. All info waiting for you at front gate. Park is gated and secure. Office across street. BIG RIG friendly - wide paved roads with concrete sites. All pull-in sites. Unusual set up in a circular pattern. Large enough to open awning, table and grill. FHU sites no cable but many OTA channels. Clean grounds, no shade, no grass. Manicured Desert Landscaping throughout park. Clean doggie park with smaller pebbles and two sitting benches and doggie bags. Doggie park could use a shaded cover over benches. Spectacular bathrooms (security code)- large, air-conditioned, very clean, shower, toilet, sink, sitting area with a place to put your belongings. Clean air conditioned laundry room with 3 washer/dryers and folding table. Close to Airport, shopping, restaurants and casinos. When in Phoenix will stay again. Mission RV Park, El Paso, Texas

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed overnight in a 43' motorhome. CG is just off I-10 but tricky getting into. No Xpressway noise noticeable. Check-in was matter-of-fact borderline rude. Interior roads are paved but not in good shape. Easy to navigate. Site was dirt/coarse sand combo, level PTFHU w/cable. Spacing is inches from neighbor. No grass. Doggie facility was at rear of park, enclosed sand area with some shade trees. Some full-timers at rear of park. Will not stay here again if in the area. We camped at Mission RV Park in a Motorhome.

Fort Stockton RV Park, Fort Stockton, Texas

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed overnight in a 43' motorhome. Easy on-off from I-10. Road leading into CG is unpaved as are interior roads. Easy check-in. Our site was a level, dirt hard rocks surface PTFHU w/cable. Did not have to unhook. Our site faced the incoming road making easy to pull out. All utilities worked fine. A little grass with some shade. It rained that night and the site had some mud. On site pool was nice. Also on site restaurant with breakfast and dinner. Doggie park available was large with doggie bags. When passing through again will use this CG. Site 89 is level, small pebbles surface, PTFHU w/cable on an angle with some shade. Lots of grass well kept and an easy walk to the very nice pool facility. Tips for other Campers:

Easy drive into downtown to visit Alamo or Riverwalk. No free parking - typically $15 for 4 hours. You can also take the city bus for $5.20 round-trip across the street from CG on Roosevelt Ave. Takes about 20 min. Had dinner downtown at the Market Place "Mi Tierra" restaurant for authentic Mexican food with great atmosphere. If possible do Riverwalk in the evening for a unique experience.

Bayou Segnette State Park, Westwego, Louisiana

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed 3 days in a 43' motorhome to visit downtown and French Quarter. Bayou Segnette SP is across the Mississippi in Westwego aprox. 12 mi. from downtown. Taking I-10 to Hwy 90W BUS to Drake Rd. will get you into Park. Normal weekday driving is heavy but much better on weekend. Smooth check-in at ranger station/office. Very helpful with local area info. The CG is at the back and interior roads are paved. The sites are angled, back-in with W/E only. Dump station is at entrance to CG. All sites are level with partial shade with convenient secure garbage cans. There is a wave pool that campers can use - office gives you blue band to access pool. No need to drive into downtown New Orleans. You can take the Ferry at Algiers Point Terminal (9 mi) for $2 each way (Seniors $1) and you have safe parking at pier for $5 weekdays, $10 weekends. Ferry run every 30 min till late at night and drops you off at Canal St. Ferry ride is aprox. 10 minutes. If you prefer you can drive and park downtown. We've stayed at parks in downtown area before and wanted to try this lower price alternative. We camped at Bayou Segnette State Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Stayed 2 nights in a 43' motorhome to visit the NAS Museum in Pensacola and the Gulf Shores. Smooth check-in, very friendly camp host and easy on-off from I-10 in a quiet location. Very accommodating...called ahead because we were a little early and camp host was waiting for us at entrance. Interior road is hard gravel with easy navigation. Our site was a pull-through full-hookup level concrete site (#11). No cable but many OTA channels. Good spacing between sites. Some sites are grassy and some are concrete where the larger coaches are situated. Sites along perimeter are shaded back-ins. Lots of space to walk your dog. We were there in off season but camp host advises that in season is sold out 1 year in advance. Midway location to Foley, AL and NAS Museum. Lots to do in area and will return to spend more time. Stayed 2 nights in a 43' motorhome to visit Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown. Easy drive on US-28 from I-88. Better to use Seminary rd. to enter CG instead of Burke Hill Rd. Arrived after 5pm and owner was waiting for us and escorted to site-FHU PT, level, gravel, easy to navigate. Took care of payment next day. Family run CG, very friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful CG with open spaces and wooded areas. Utilities worked well. Lots of room to walk. Great dog park with doogie bags. Small office with essentials. Clean facilities-used washing machines. Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed 3 nights over the weekend in a 43' motorhome. Used as base to visit local area. Exit from I-81 to CG is approximately 7 miles over a winding road, but manageable. CG is divided by main road. Check-in/office/pool, rec. hall, etc. and some sites on one side on paved roads. Our site is on the other side, over partly paved, gravel road up on the hill. Escorted to our site, U130, FHU PT, level, gravel/grass with fire ring and picnic table with views of the mountains. All utilities worked well including cable. ATT cell service was spotty at best. Many seasonal activities over the weekends geared to families. CG decorated for Halloween. Easy to visit Lexington/ VMI. Liberty Harbor RV Park, Jersey City, New Jersey

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $95.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed 3 nights to visit NYC in a 43' motorhome. We were hesitant about getting in to park and location but surprisingly easy to get to park from xpressway. Check-in was easy and friendly. Interior road paved easy to navigate. Our site was angled, 20' wide, 45' long, level, small gravel with W/E at rear. A dump station is in the first row at the rear of the park. Security is 24/7, locked gates and fenced all around yet easy to walkout to walk your dog. The park is in a upscale neighborhood location with NYC ferry parking for NJ commuters and a Marina complex with expensive yachts. Easy to walk dog along Marina. The PATH train to NYC is approx. 10 blocks to Grove St. station. The walk on Marin Blvd. is surprisingly easy. We felt safe at all hours of the day. The area has numerous restaurants, businesses including Jersey City, City Hall 4 blocks away on Marin Blvd. The PATH train(Green or Yellow) will take you into lower or midtown Manhattan and costs $2.75 each way. The initial Metro card costs $2, you then reload as necessary and can be used on the PATH, NYC Subway/busses. Liberty Park is 5min. south and faces lower Manhattan and the Statue of Liberty. It can be walked but we chose to do it by car at sunset giving a spectacular view in daylight, dusk and evening. The park is full of families on weekend picnics. There is so much to do in NYC that the lack of sewer and park amenities is insignificant. We were out morning till evening and restaurants are numerous. We did not have enough time to do all there is and will return to visit NYC. We camped at Liberty Harbor RV Park in a Motorhome.

Elizabethtown / Hershey KOA, Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $65.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed 4 nights to attend the Hershey RV show and Hershey Chocolate Factory. Follow the KOA sign, turn right, at junction N. Hanover & N. Market St. and avoid going thru town. Check-in confusing due to new work camper manning check-in. Owner/wife took care of situation and made it right. Family run CG with great customer service skills. CG is in a beautiful location in great shape, clean, mowed/fertilized grass, utilities and cable worked well. Garbage pickup onsite. Road leading up to registration is paved. Interior roads are easy to navigate with a 43' motorhome, gravel and well maintained. Our site was in a terraced area, PT FHU, gravel, with fire ring, picnic table and level in partial shade with good spacing. CG offers a free shuttle to RV show and Hershey factory with several morning and evening departures and pickups. Pool was closed for season. Did not use bath facilities but looked clean. Would stay here again rather than closer to Show or factory. We camped at Elizabethtown / Hershey KOA in a Motorhome.
