Triple C's Campground & RV Park (Formerly Chattahoochee/Tallahassee W', Chattahoochee, Florida

Date of Stay: February, 2018 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed one night on our way through from southern Florida to New Orleans. Nice clean park close to the interstate, but far enough away to keep down any road noise. Camp host were very friendly and appear to take pride in their work. We didn't use the showers, but I always check out these areas and the restrooms and showers were extremely clean. The office, store, and common areas were extremely clean as well. There is no cable TV, but the quantity of over the air channels were fine for us. The secure wifi signal was weak at our site, but the unsecure wifi signal was strong. The interior roads have plenty of room to navigate, but are a little rough in some places. There are a lot of trees, but they are all trimmed to keep branches from dragging against your rig. According to our leveling system, our pull through site was perfectly level. Our site had plenty of length so we didn't have to unhook. We would select this park again if passing through the area. We camped at Triple C's Campground & RV Park (Formerly Chattahoochee/Tallahassee W' in a Fifth Wheel.

J.O.Y. RV Park (formerly Sonrise Village RV Resort), Cocoa, Florida

Date of Stay: February, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed at J.O.Y. while passing through on our way to Key West, and then again on our return trip. We were lucky to even find a site in the area on the way south due to the Falcon X launch that day, but they were able to get us a site on a last minute notice. The camp hosts were extremely friendly and very helpful. They escorted us to our site and helped guide us into our back-in site. Our sites were level both times. No cable, but over the air channels were fine for us. We didn't use the showers, but as a former RV park owner, I always check out the facilities and these were extremely clean and updated. We would definitely stay here again if passing through the area. We camped at J.O.Y. RV Park (formerly Sonrise Village RV Resort) in a Fifth Wheel.

Amana Colonies RV Park, Amana, Iowa

Date of Stay: September, 2014 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

We spent one night here while visiting the Amana Colonies. We were met with a very friendly and helpful staff during check-in. They lead us to our site and helped us get lined up with our utilities. The park was clean, quiet, and there was plenty of space between sites. We would stay here again. We camped at Amana Colonies RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Griff's Valley View RV Park & Campground, Altoona, Iowa

Date of Stay: September, 2014 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

This is an extremely clean and well kept campground. We spent several nights here and really enjoyed our stay. Most of the sites have concrete pads and are very spacious. The park is far enough away from town to be quiet, but close enough to shopping, restaurants, a small amusement park, and a casino with horse racing. It is also a quick easy drive to Des Moines. There's no office on site so you must check in at the residence a mile or so down the road or by phone when you arrive at the park. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Griff's Valley View RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Kenisee Grand River Campground, Geneva, Ohio

Date of Stay: July, 2014 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

This campground was a nice little last minute find. We were originally planning to stay at another campground in the area because we wanted to be somewhere near Cleveland to visit the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, but changed our minds and stopped at this one for two nights. There is easy access to the interstate and plenty of wineries in the area. The folks working in the office were all extremely nice and very helpful. The park is large with mostly seasonal sites, but it is well kept and landscaped. It was very quiet during our stay. There are a limited number of overnight sites. They are spacious with plenty of room between rigs, but it was tight getting into our site because of a tree and the sewer drop. Our site, along with other sites in our row, were not very level front to back. The landing gears on the front of our 5th wheel were on blocks and still extended quite a ways. On top of the nightly rate, you must pay $3 extra if you want to use your A/C, and must also pay for Wi-Fi (found this out during check-in). We escaped the A/C fee because the weather was nice and cool. Overall we liked this place and would definitely return if in the area. We would have given it a higher rating if not for the sites being unlevel and the additional charge for A/C and Wi-Fi. We camped at Kenisee Grand River Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tall Pines Campground, Canoeing & Country Store, Bainbridge, New York

Date of Stay: July, 2014 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

We paid a deposit over the phone for a premium site (site with concrete patio), but when we arrived, we were only reserved for a standard site (which we didn't realize until we got to our site). The site was a pull-in with no patio where we would have had to park our truck behind our rig once disconnected. The problem was we couldn't drive around to park behind our rig, we would have had to back our truck out between our camper and the next site (again, we didn't realize this until we got to the site). After looking at the site we determined we would have had a hard time doing this because of the neighbors fire pit, chairs, and other items they had set up. We then drove back to the office to see why our site wasn't a premium site. What happened was, they had us reserved for a standard site but took a deposit for a premium site. In the end, when we arrived and paid the balance, everything had been adjusted for a correct balance for a standard site, but it was very confusing when our email confirmation shows our deposit was for a premium site. After getting this figured out, and telling them we wouldn't be able to get our truck out of the original site once disconnected, we paid the difference and upgraded to a premium back-in site on the river. The site was nice, but I'm glad I carry an extension cord for my shore power since the power boxes and water hookups are in the very front of the site by the road (and our power connection is on the back of our rig). Overall, the campground is clean, the hosts are friendly, and there are plenty of activities for kids and families. The campground could use some updating, the sites are somewhat tight and the gravel roads are very narrow and are in need of some repairs. We camped at Tall Pines Campground, Canoeing & Country Store in a Fifth Wheel.

Hickory Hollow Campground, Rockwood, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: July, 2014 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

This is a nice campground with really nice owners. We have camped here several times while visiting family and friends in the area, and will definitely return in the future. It is a quiet campground that has clean and well kept grounds, restrooms, and laundry facility. The only negative we found is the laundry facility could use at least one more washer and dryer since there is currently only one of each. We camped at Hickory Hollow Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
