Bakersfield River Run RV Park, Bakersfield, California

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

This is a hidden jewel in an industrial area of Bakersfield. Once you get through the industrial area you pull into this oasis! Property is very well maintained. Grounds are nicely manicured. Good water pressure and strong electricity. Hookups are conveniently located. We were given a double deep spot all by ourselves. Tons of extra space around your rig. Property is located right on the banks of the Kern River. There is a little bit of noise from the freeway that is adjacent, but it is not intolerable. We would definitely stay here again! We camped at Bakersfield River Run RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Winchester Bay RV Resort, Winchester Bay, Oregon

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $88.00
Overall Rating:

This is one of the nicest RV parks we've ever camped in. We shared one of the Super Sites with family members. Everything about this park is perfect. I can't think of a single thing wrong with it. Huge sites, great staff, impeccable maintenance, nice laundries, beautiful landscaping and walking paths. We can't wait to go back!!! We camped at Winchester Bay RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Ancient Redwoods RV Park, Redcrest, California

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for a week. Sites were large and level. There was grass between each site, but it was all dead. Staff at office said they couldn't water because the governor prohibited them from watering due to the drought. (The governor had lifted the watering ban months before our visit) Utilities were all very good and conveniently located. Park is located in a small opening in the giant redwoods. Being in a "hole" there are very little breezes to help cool it down. There is also no cell service at the sites. they do have a cell phone signal booster under an awning in a corner of the park. Service at that location was okay, but not great. Overall it was a nice park. We would stay here again if passing through, just not for a week. We camped at Ancient Redwoods RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Travel America RV Park, Sagle, Idaho

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here because we had no other options. We got shafted at a different resort on a Friday afternoon and had absolutely nowhere to go. This park had openings. (Should be your first clue when they have openings on a Friday afternoon!) If you LOVE freight trains, then this is the park for you! You will hear freight trains all night long, at the rate of every 20-30 minutes and every single one blasts its horn as they pass by. They are so loud that it sounds like they are a couple hundred feet away. Added to the trains is the fact that this is a very busy gas station with a RV park behind it. You'll hear large trucks and loud cars all day and night. The sites were very tight, had dirt pads, dead grass and large untrimmed trees. The park was dirty, dusty and trashy. There were some unsavory characters roaming around the sites day and night. When the wind blew in the right direction we could smell ether in the air. If you don't know what that is associated with, Google it. We paid for three nights but left as soon as the sun came up the first morning and never looked back. Didn't want to have our stuff stolen or blown up. To add insult to injury, the tress in our spot were so overgrown and in need of trimming it tore a hole in our roof. Won't ever stop here again...period! We camped at Travel America RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tamarack RV Park, Coeur d'Alene, Idaho

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

I believe that I am one of the people some of the other reviewers are referring to in their review. I tried to make my reservation at the same time as M.G. I spoke with a female employee on the phone when we made our reservations for July 7th thru July 9th. When we arrived on the afternoon of the 7th we were told that they did not have our reservation, because we were a month late! They claimed we made our reservation for JUNE 7-9th! REALLY?!?!? How is that possible when the reservations were made on June 17th!!! Retroactive reservations I guess... The employees were dumbfounded. Their solution was to kick other RV'ers out of their spot and cram our 38" & 40' 5th wheels into one spot, and stuff the other person somewhere undesirable for them (They were also very unhappy with how it was handled). There's no way the two big rigs would even come close to fitting in the single spot they proposed. We would then have to find somewhere in the facility to park our tow vehicles, but they didn't know where that would be. After more than an hour of nonsense, we told them we wanted a full refund and we were leaving. The one thing they did right was issue a full refund. We were sent off on a Friday afternoon with no reservations anywhere, and no openings anywhere nearby. Aside from the incompetent staff and their comedy of errors, the park left a lot to be desired. As others have said, it is smack in the middle of the city on a very busy, noisy road. The spaces are very tight, cramped and buried in very tall trees. There's no way you could get any satellite TV service. The roads were very narrow. We had doubts about just being able to navigate them safely when we exited to park. A large number of the spaces in the park were taken by full-timers. The park must have very liberal rules that apply to them as it looked very cluttered and junky. Our experience left such a bad taste in our mouth that we would not return here on a dare. We camped at Tamarack RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Bandon By The Sea RV Park, Bandon, Oregon

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Very clean, large and well-landscaped spaces. Hook-ups worked perfectly. WiFi was pretty good for a RV park. Able to stream YouTube videos with no problems. Staff was very friendly. Park is also pet-friendly. There are many long-term/permanent residents, but they are very friendly also. Very quiet, peaceful location. We would absolutely stay here again with our pet. Price we paid was based upon weekly rate. We camped at Bandon By The Sea RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Silver City RV Resort, Minden, Nevada

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

This is an "okay" park. Park is clean. There is nothing special about the spaces. They are broken-up concrete pads with large rocks gravel. No grass at all. Basically a large gravel parking lot with concrete tire paths. Zero shade either. Hook-ups worked well. Laundry is spotless! One of the nicest I've seen. Staff members were friendly and helpful. WiFi was horrible! We had a few RVs in our party and no one was able to get on the Internet with the WiFi. We all tried many times and were able to get connected to their network, but never were able to access the Internet. Spoke to other campers and they all had the same experience. This resort claims to be "pet friendly." That is the furthest from the truth! There are a very few areas in the park where there is grass or vegetation. Every single one of the is clearly marked NO PETS! They direct you to their "dog park", which is a complete joke. They are two 12' x 12' fenced in dirt patches. That is not a "dog park," that's two dog kennels. Your pet either has to do it's business on the rocks in your site or in a smelly dirt patch where hundreds of other dogs have done it. Fortunately we learned the adjacent lot is open BLM land. We took our dog out there for exercise and potty business. I would not recommend this RV park if you have pets. We camped at Silver City RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.
