Sunrise RV Park, Texarkana, Arkansas

Date of Stay: October, 2007 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

They are not officially opened. Well they are, but they are still building. By what they have completed so far, you can see how marvelous it will be. The shower house has the BEST setup ever. You have your own shower stall with a lock and has so much room. They are brand new and a very classy style. Once completed this place feels as if it will be a 5 Star Resort. Located right on I-30, exit #7 in Arkansas and you can hear the noise but no trains nearby. They have Wi-Fi, cable TV, playground, swimming pool, laundry, store and dump station to name just a few of their features. We will definitely return to this park on our future travels. We camped at Sunrise RV Park in a Motorhome.

Crystal Lake RV Park, Mims, Florida

Date of Stay: January, 2007 - $14.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed for a month while we worked at the Daytona International Speedway and paid $421 for the month, including taxes and electricity. This was one of the few parks that did not raise the prices sky high due to the events at the race track. This is a great park with many pull throughs with full hookups. There is a lake where you can fish or just watch the gators swim, no kidding, we seen them several times. The showers and laundry rooms are kept clean and plenty of hot water. A recreation room with a pool table, ping pong table, and a place to exchange books, read or work on a puzzle. The owner was very helpful and knowledgeable of the area, if you want to do some sightseeing just ask him and he will tell you all the local wonders to visit and so far he is batting a thousand with all of his great recommendations. We camped at Crystal Lake RV Park in a Motorhome.

Cross Creek RV Park & Campground, Lake Ozark, Missouri

Date of Stay: October, 2006 - $12.00
Overall Rating:

We used our "Happy Camper" discount of 50% off for this price. After all the problems, breakdowns and weather not cooperating it was really nice to finally be on the road again and making good time. We drove a little off the beaten track to get to this campground and if we had been planning to stay a few days this would be the place to do it at. Because the season was just about over the work campers were already gone so one of the owners was attending to the store. During season this park has to be filled up every weekend because of the beauty, many activities available and the friendliness of the people. The bathrooms were spotless and the best design I have seen this far in the shower area. There was ample room in both the changing area and the drop down shower area, nothing got wet except what was intended. They have one special campsite that is a glorified tent site, having water and electricity and is located on your own private island and up until just a short time ago was only accessible by a row boat but they have since built a bridge to it. They also have cabin rentals but most of the available campsites were not very level and getting to them was a steep climb but otherwise everything was marvelous. We camped at Cross Creek RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Oasis RV Park , South Haven, Kansas

Date of Stay: October, 2006 - $12.00
Overall Rating:

Our rate paid was with our "Happy Camper" discount of 50% off. This one was hard to rate because it does not have any amenities to fluff it up. There are no trees, picnic tables, fire rings, store, playground, swimming pool or even any sort of club house. What you do have are very clean bathrooms, a very courteous host, free WiFi, full hookups and huge drive through sites. It’s a place to park your rig, shower and catch some shut eye and possibly do some of the sightseeing in the immediate area but not too much more and that is the reason for the low rating. Yes, I would definitely return anytime I would be in the area. We camped at Oasis RV Park in a Motorhome.

Hickory Lake Campground (Long Term Stays Only), Aitkin, Minnesota

Date of Stay: September, 2006 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Very family oriented with customer service as a high priority and a very friendly staff. New owner has renovated the entire campground to begin selling the lots. As explained to me this process may take a few years and will continue with seasonals and weekenders until then. We camped at Hickory Lake Campground (Long Term Stays Only) in a Motorhome.
