USA RV Park, Gallup, New Mexico

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Adequate space between sites. Office help efficient and friendly. Park appearance is great - well maintained.
Pull through sites accommodate the longest rigs.

They advertise WiFi but no such thing...attempted to sign in to all of their locations but no joy. Ended up using our Verizon connection. We camped at USA RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Amarillo Ranch RV Park, Amarillo, Texas

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

Wi-Fi, as usual, sucks....typical advertised "we have Wi-Fi for you" but fail to mention it's slow as dial up speed!!

Sites are LONNNG with adequate spacing.

Typical inexpensive, gravel filled sites.

Not a particularly attractive park but....we're here on a stop over - not here to "e joy all that Amarillo 'offers, or not." We camped at Amarillo Ranch RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Camp Lakewood Campground & RV Park, Effingham, Illinois

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

This place is a gem! Has a small bar/lounge with three slot machines, replete with a friendly host/bartender and local campers.

Sites are spread out - they are gravel filled which isn't my favorite but useable.

Highly recommended, for the money.

Call ahead and ensure a reservation...they full up fast! Duh! We camped at Camp Lakewood Campground & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Two Rivers Campground, Nashville, Tennessee

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

For a well rated Rv park, this place is a joke.

Low settling areas on the grass and pathways means lots of puddles and mud to avoid!

The bathrooms are clean....that's the good part.....they are the smallest and narrowest stalls I've ever experienced!

The people waiting on arrivals at the office are overwhelmed...the three times I was at the office the gal behind the desk had to motion me to wait so she could finish taking the reservation...don't mind the current customer standing in front of you!!

The sites do NOT have circuit breakers....if you pop your breaker (easy to do as the pull throughs are 30 amps and NO sewer) you have to find the breaker panel which is not at your site but across the rain flooded street and between two sites.....what a HOKEY set up. BUT, they get away with it 'cuz Nashville is such a "destination spot" ---- yah...RIGHT!!!

I rate this place a 4 for "street appeal," a 4 for "amenities" and a 6 for value!!

Would NOT stop here again..... We camped at Two Rivers Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tranquil Timbers Camping Resort, Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Pros:

1) Well maintained restrooms.

2) I'll get back to you when I can come up with more positive observations!

Cons:

1) Their advertisements state, "Overlooking Sturgeon Bay." Snort!!! The ability to see Sturgeon Bay is relegated to about 11 sites in the Park Place section, all of which are reserved for seasonal customers.

2) Their advertisements state, "WiFi available." Snort!!! Been here 3 days and still awaiting one WiFi signal!

3) Gosh....for $40.00 you'd think they could scrounge up a cable provider and run a cable throughout the park....you'd think! BUT, you know that anyhow as they don't mention cable hookups in any advertisements.

4) There are no pull through sites reserved for the transit/traveling customer - we never found one. This park is decidedly focused on seasonal residents and almost all of them are back ins!! The transit sites are fairly close together - meaning you can extend your slides and not fear being right on top of your neighbor but you will be seeing them setting at their dining table.

This park mimics other Encore sites we've stayed in....little attention paid to cleaning up the sites between checkouts and check-ins (our fire pit was full of empty glass bottles)....focused on seasonal customers....as far as "value received," about 30% markup over comparable parks.

Doubt if we'll stay here again, unless a true emergency forces us to have to stay!! We camped at Tranquil Timbers Camping Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Big Sky Camp and RV Park, Miles City, Montana

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

For the money, you can' beat this no-frills stop over.

Owners are friendly.

The sites are verrrrry long - no worries if in a big rig.

Decidedly no frills but for $22.00, I'm ok with that!

If you are assigned an odd numbered site, you'll need to stretch out your power cord. We camped at Big Sky Camp and RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Yellowstone Grizzly RV Park, West Yellowstone, Montana

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $62.00
Overall Rating:

Nice facility. Fairly spacious sits. Restrooms clean BUT you'd think for $60.00 a night, they could keep the hand dryers working....e.g., no hot air. The staff, at checking, asks more inane questions than necessary and, when "challenged" by external phone calls, they seem to become flustered.

For $60.00 a night, I'd expect a concrete slab, not gravel! We camped at Yellowstone Grizzly RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Great overnight stop over park. Sites are sort of close together but the overall cleanliness and enthusiasm of the office help makes up the difference. We'll stay here again!! We camped at Golden Spike RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Bernardo Shores RV Park, Imperial Beach, California

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

Great RV park - with the exception of the WiFi service. The park is being sold and not taking reservations after October 1 WHICH explains why their WiFi is the pits. Talked to one of the managers and he said they'd already spent $12K on the WiFi - with the park being sold, why bother with the WiFi, 'eh???? Great attitude! We camped at Bernardo Shores RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Oak Plantation Campground, Charleston, South Carolina

Date of Stay: October, 2014 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Barely acceptable park, considering the price charged. The woman at the desk needs some serious counseling in how to treat a prospective guest. She put the "U" in u friendly. Wi-Fi was about the slowest we've experienced in our last 20 stops. Sites are well laid out and spacious. This park is worth about $30.00! We camped at Oak Plantation Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Bismarck KOA, Bismarck, North Dakota

Date of Stay: August, 2014 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

KOA sure must like themselves! This place is NOT worth $44.00 for a full hook-up, pull through site....perhaps, $25.00 to $30.00! Showers are clean, I'll give them that BUT I've never seen smaller showers - I had to exit the privacy stall in order to set down and put my socks on!!! They charge $2.25 for one load of laundry and $0.25 per 8 minutes to drive!!! C'mon, folks....that is expensive! The woman t the check-in counter was civil to "ok" but not overly friendly! Based on two one night experiences here and at a Koa in Billings, MT We'll continue to avoid KOAs s often as we can! We camped at Bismarck KOA in a Motorhome.
