Wytheville KOA, Wytheville, Virginia

Date of Stay: November, 2017 - $58.00
Overall Rating:

Good stop over location. Never had seen a campground with a 6 lane bowling center and indoor batting cages before. Only negative thing I can say has nothing to do with the campground, the intersection on the highway exit is a nightmare!!! Really needs a traffic light. We camped at Wytheville KOA in a Motorhome.

Boston / Cape Cod KOA, Middleboro, Massachusetts

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

Kind of in the middle of nowhere. Park is a little in need of TLC. Stay away from the upper camping area, really bad roads and unlevel spaces. We were camping elsewhere and extended our vacation staying here. We were able to check out the campground the day before we moved there. Staff was very nice about letting us pick a different campsite. Store was sadly stocked. We camped at Boston / Cape Cod KOA in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $49.00
Overall Rating:

Good location for Hersey visits. Other campers told us it had been raining for days before our stay, was very wet and muddy, but on our return trip stay it was much better! Great staff and store was really well stocked. We camped at Jonestown / Hershey NE KOA in a Motorhome.

Andrews AFB FamCamp (Military FamCamp), Andrews AFB, Maryland

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Half of the park was closed for reconstruction, the other half was neglected. Site had concrete pad which was the most positive aspect of the park. One staff member was rude and seemed to think answering questions was not in job duties. Roads gravel, muddy and potholed, restrooms were clean but really outdated, staff seemed to think it was okay to leave mops and brooms anywhere they stopped using them.

Grass around office area trimmed and mowed, rest of areas and campsites grass was 12-18 inches tall. Grass around dog area fencing mowed, inside not mowed. Piles of limbs and leaves everywhere.

Half of park being rebuilt/upgraded to 50 amp, but placement of utilities made no sense. While a very good location for visiting Washington DC, a disappointing park. One would think that the support base for the Presidential fleet of aircraft would be a showplace in all its facilities.

Base Exchange being remodeled but open for business, commissary large. Golf course one of the best I've ever seen on a military base. We camped at Andrews AFB FamCamp (Military FamCamp) in a Motorhome.

Branch Street (Green line) Metro Station just a few minutes drive from base. Ask at office if they have any rail/bus passes available, sometimes they do.

Tallulah Gorge State Park Campground, Tallulah Falls, Georgia

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

As others have noted, this park has only recently been taken over by the state from Georgia Power. Some work has been done, but, there is a great deal more needed. There are no grey water dumps anywhere. Most sites are in big need of re-leveling. Water is very discolored with rust, but great pressure. Restrooms are very dated and in need of updating. Campground host had very poor attitude, park ranger said he was very overworked. Our ADA site and all other pull-thru sites were nicely paved, but terribly unlevel, our 30ft motorhome had a 10 inch drop from back to front before leveling. The gorge and waterfalls are beautiful. Hiking trails well maintained. Park is close to many Northern Georgia sights and attractions. We camped at Tallulah Gorge State Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Tugaloo State Park, Lavonia, Georgia

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice park and area. Would have given a higher rating, but, the condition of the roads in the campground are terrible! Tree root heaves and no evidence of any repairs even being attempted. Water pressure was good, but, there would be rust color first thing in the morning. Plenty of grey water dumps. We camped at Tugaloo State Park in a Motorhome.

Less than a 5 minute drive to the beach. Traffic in the Bradenton area is horrible, stay off the roads during rush hours.

Cloudland Canyon State Park, Rising Fawn, Georgia

Date of Stay: June, 2015 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

West rim campground is the better choice. More woods and space between sites. Only thing keeping our score from being higher is the restrooms/showers are older and in need of some upgrades. I'm not looking for A/C, but a fan to circulate the air would be nice. Grey water dumps are well placed and numerous.

Hiking trails are well kept and beautiful. It would be a good idea to ask about the amount of water going over the falls before doing the 600 stair steps down. Very little water going over the falls for our trip.

A general note about Georgia State Campgrounds, very few State Parks have full hookups. Georgia should consider upgrading it's campgrounds to include more sewer connections. We camped at Cloudland Canyon State Park in a Motorhome.

Coastal Georgia RV Resort, Brunswick, Georgia

Date of Stay: May, 2015 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice new campground!! Very clean and well maintained. Slots are concrete and level, but narrow. When the trees and bushes grow there will be good shade and privacy. Huge plus having a separate water supply they let you use to wash your rig (no extra charge!). Will definitely be staying here again! We camped at Coastal Georgia RV Resort in a Motorhome.
