Flory's Cottages & Camping, Ronks, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: November, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This is not a resort. It is a smaller, older but very well maintained park. All sites are back-in's and fair sized. Parking the 1 ton truck perpendicular in front of the fifth-wheel was required by staff and made the road through a bit narrow. The laundry facilities were spotless. Here's what will get us to return here without a moment's hesitation: The Management. We arrived with a trailer repair issue and had to rent a car. Without great detail let me say these folks are the nicest, most accommodating, generous, helpful husband & wife team we've yet met during our four years of travel. Give this park your consideration...it's worth it! We camped at Flory's Cottages & Camping in a Fifth Wheel.

Pinewood Lodge Campground, Plymouth, Massachusetts

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $58.00
Overall Rating:

On a four month travel from Tucson up into the N.E. Hard to find an RV park mid-Oct in this area. Chose this one and it's fine. Setting is in the woods, heavily treed, rustic camping, yet with full hook-ups. Staff was friendly & helpful. This is a summertime retreat with a large lodge, lake and seemingly a myriad of activities for families escaping the Boston area. We'd stay again. We camped at Pinewood Lodge Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Old Orchard Beach Campground, Old Orchard Beach, Maine

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $60.00
Overall Rating:

Outstanding. It is a gated, beautifully maintained CG. Lot's of perm's/seasonal new park models, but a huge area for travelers. Site was perfectly level, clean, fully operational. Wifi was super fast and free. Staff were friendly, helpful and professional. We would stay here again without hesitation. Worth the price. We camped at Old Orchard Beach Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

A bit expensive but worth it. Very nice, professional & helpful staff. Very large, clean, well laid-out park. Limited over the air TV, no cable. Sites were perfectly level. Lot's of space. We'd come back without hesitation. We camped at Timberland Acres RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Nothing fancy here. Mgt. friendly & helpful. Park clean but has lots of perm's and temps. Site needed work to get level. No cable, sat wouldn't work in the tree filled park. Overall , ok. We'd stay again if in the area. We camped at Katahdin Shadows Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Danforth Bay Camping & RV Resort, Freedom, New Hampshire

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here 3 nights on a cross-country "fall colors" tour from Tucson. Beautiful park. Fast, friendly and professional staff. 24 hour security. Site was level and clean. Roads are nice & easy. Only Note: My Good Sam GPS advised at the final turn "Your destination is ahead on the left in 100 feet". Nope. It was over a quarter of a mile down that road dead-ending at the entrance, which couldn't be seen. So don't let your GPS put you into a worry mode.... We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Danforth Bay Camping & RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Abel Mountain Campground, Braintree, Vermont

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Set in a valley, surrounded by trees, this is as someone described it, "a Gem". Staff are friendly, fast, professional. Very clean, neat grassy sites; wide with full hook-ups, and plenty of room for tow vehicle. Only issue were the roads; dirt and while well packed so little to no dust, they are rutted and bumpy; not terrible, just enough to make you go really slow. Then it occurred to me; keeping that way sure keeps your speed down in the park. Smart if intended. We'd stay here again without a moments thought. We camped at Abel Mountain Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

North Beach Campground, Burlington, Vermont

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

This is not a "resort", nor does it have many amenities. Not that we were expecting any; just want to warn you, it's very basic. Setting is up from a beach area amongst trees. Spaces are dirt/grass and pretty level. Buildings such as the laundry are, while functional, in need of some care and maintenance. Here's the kicker....we are pulling a 33' fifth wheel with a 1 ton, 4x4, crew cab, long bed Chevy Silverado and GPS took us through VERY tight streets down through the University of Vermont campus area. Hair raising right hand turns from single lane to single lane. Then, after our final turn we found ourselves ("You have arrived") smack in front of the high school. The entry to the park was just ahead around a slight corner, out of sight. No signs announcing "RV Park" or ? ever on the approach. Beware. Yes, we'd stay again if in the area...just find a different way in. We camped at North Beach Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Wellesley Island State Park, Fineview, New York

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Ok, maybe you think, this guy doesn't get out much! But you're wrong. This is our fourth annual 3-4 month trip across the country...keep that in mind. I didn't feel good about picking one of the standard parks in the area, lots of reasons, so I took a chance on a "State Park". Now, know we are standard park users. This park is unbelievable. Truly. Nope, not a lot of amenities with the park; i.e. water park, video room, etc., etc.. Nope. Just one of the most beautiful, well laid-out parks we've ever encountered. Spaces are at least 30' apart. Seriously. Each is paved, level, with fire ring and patio table. Deep enough for trailer & truck. Gorgeous setting near the seaway. If in this area, do pick this. We camped at Wellesley Island State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Lake George RV Park, Lake George, New York

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $75.00
Overall Rating:

I booked this one thinking it was an Adult-only upscale park. Don't get me wrong, love kids etc., just thinking that with all the amenities offered here (movies, live shows) it might be fun to interact with folks are age (68) in a calm setting since we have been traveling over a month at this point, two-three nights in a spot. Whoops. This is a family park and it was stocked full of kids and partying adults. Didn't know the big Balloon Festival was in town. The park is HUGE and does offer an incredible array of activities for families. 30 years ago, we'd have been in the mix. Staff were friendly, fast & professional. Spaces are ok, tight; we were in the outer loop, back in, and while it was ok, parking the tow vehicle perpendicular to the space, in front of the trailer was required. As said, tons of families having a great time. We'd stay again, but not on a "special weekend" :) Got kids? looking for a fun place to camp? This is it! We camped at Lake George RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Camp Bell Campground, Campbell, New York

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed 2 nights in a fifth-wheel. A first for us....called several days ago for a reservation, told "just come on in". Arrived, fast check-in, and assigned a pull-through site. Park is large, seems at least half are perm/semi-perm. We were down in an open area, grass with 30 amp, water no sewer. Dump station on the road out. Fairly quiet. Site was wide, but just not long enough for both 33' FW and my Crew Cab long bed. We'd stay again. We camped at Camp Bell Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Stayed here for 3 nights while travelling through. Very friendly, efficient and professional staff, clean, level site with full hookups. Indianapolis KOA, Greenfield, Indiana

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

We are on a four month trip from Tucson to Maine and down the East Coast and Indy was our first destination for an extended stay. This RV park is close to Indy, and provided us with a very comfortable stay. Staff was, each and every time of interaction, very friendly, helpful and professional. The park is semi-shaded with level gravel sites & full hookups. Each is very long and separated well from your neighbors on each side. The pool area, although we didn't use it, is really nice offering a great deal of fun features for kids to enjoy--it appeared clean and well maintained. We would definitely stay here again if in this area. We camped at Indianapolis KOA in a Fifth Wheel.
