Rocky's Convenience Store & Campground, Perry, Florida

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed one night. It was right on Hwy 98 outside of Perry, FL. The gas station had a separate fueling station for diesel which makes it easy for big rigs! Diesel price was cheapest we'd seen all day. We had site #31. It was fairly level. The loop in the park isn't necessarily one way. You could enter the site from either direction. There is a big tree on the right side of the site that you have to swing wide for. It wasn't an issue. AT&T cell service was almost non-existent! There is a nice little fishing pond if you have a pole! We camped at Rocky's Convenience Store & Campground in a Motorhome.

Shellmound Campground, Jasper, Tennessee

Date of Stay: February, 2018 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

This is a nice campground. It is by a lake and a public park. We were able to run and swim our dog early morning without a leash. The park is clean. There are some long-term rigs there. I wouldn't say it handles big rigs very well--at least not 40' motorhomes! We pulled in after dark...I would not recommend unless you are familiar with the park! Their website's directions are not correct so be cautious! We tried a couple sites before deciding on one. Pads are gravel and soft (maybe just because it is early spring?) Our front jack went in about 6 inches. The pull-thrus are half-circles so if someone is in "front" of you your ability to pull out of your site could be very tight. There is no sewer at the sites...only dump station. Overall, I think it would be a great park for smaller rigs. We camped at Shellmound Campground in a Motorhome.

Wakonda State Park, La Grange, Missouri

Date of Stay: February, 2018 - $21.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here in February. No water, but all we needed was electricity. We stay one night. We pulled in after dark so it was hard to see where the pull-throughs were at. The on-line map wasn't clear as to which campsites were pull-through versus back-in. The smaller campground of 8 sites has no pull-throughs. We ended up in site #53 (I think) in the Boulder Campground. It was a long pull-thru near the shower building. The roads in Boulder Campground were a bit tight to navigate with our motorhome..watch tow!!! We would stay again when coming thru this way. There is no state park fee which was nice! We camped at Wakonda State Park in a Motorhome.

Picabo Angler RV Park, Picabo, Idaho

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed one night. Reservations must be made on-line thru ReserveAmerica.com. Check in is at the Texaco Station on the north side of US 20. Park is west of Station on the south of US20. No sewer. Park is laid out awkwardly as you have to drive around and reposition to utilize the dump station. We were in one of the pull throughs. The site was gravel and not level. Our front jack went down into the gravel about 6 inches--front wheels were off the ground. It didn't look like they had had a lot of rain to make it soft! AT&T cell service was good. We did not try their wi-fi or restrooms. We camped at Picabo Angler RV Park in a Motorhome.

Bear Den RV Resort , Grangeville, Idaho

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed one night. Site was gravel and level. ATT cell service was great! We came from Grangeville. The entrance to the park is via Fish Hatchery Rd not US95. Turn at huge sign on left. I'm not sure what you see from the other direction to let you know when to turn! We camped at Bear Den RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Glacier Meadow RV Park, East Glacier Park, Montana

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

Nice place to stay for a few nights. Huge meadow to run our hunting dog. Coming from the east, there is a sign on the left identifying the left-hand turn for the park. If you come from the west, you can see the park clearly. Pull-thru sites are out in open and are just long enough for 40' rig and our jeep. Restrooms were very clean. Very well-kept park. Only cell service was Verizon as they have a booster in the pavilion. Wifi was available near pavilion. No sewer...only a dump station so plan ahead! Dump station is thru woods on way out of park. We were able to navigate it without tow. We camped at Glacier Meadow RV Park in a Motorhome.

Shady Rest RV Park, Glasgow, Montana

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

We called earlier the day of our stay and told them we were 5 hours out. I didn't realize the office closed at 7 pm. We pulled in around 8:30pm. They had just closed and headed home. The desk clerk saw us on the main road and figured we were the rig he was waiting for. He turned around and opened up the office to get us checked in and to our spot. Very nice people! The space we had was plenty big for our 4-slide motorhome...not very level but we made it work. We only stayed the night. It looked like a clean park. We camped at Shady Rest RV Park in a Motorhome.

Crossroads RV Park, Mount Pleasant, Iowa

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed one night. Easy on/off. Neatly kept park. We had a great place to run our hunting dog. The only issue we had with the park was that we were parked right next to playground. If you want quiet, ask that you not be put in spot #1 or #2! A previous comment stated an easy walk to Hy-Vee. It is, but know it is probably .5 mile there and .5 mile back. You walk on the side of the road--not a sidewalk. We camped at Crossroads RV Park in a Motorhome.

Clarksville RV Park & Campground, Clarksville, Tennessee

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

We pulled in around 7pm and left early so didn't use or see much. Staff was friendly on phone when reserved earlier in the day as well as when we checked in. It is an easy on/off 1-24 with an easy access diesel fill before reaching the rv park. 1-24 noise was a lot before 10pm and started again at 4:30am. We camped at Clarksville RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Americus KOA (formerly Brickyard Plantation Golf Club & RV Park), Americus, Georgia

Date of Stay: March, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Decent place for an overnight. We had a level, gravel spot. The RV park is a separate entrance than the golf course. The park host greeted us at the entrance after talking with his buddy. He lead us to our spot. It had a nice pond and open area for us to swim and run our dog. We camped at Americus KOA (formerly Brickyard Plantation Golf Club & RV Park) in a Motorhome.

Payne's RV Park, Theodore, Alabama

Date of Stay: February, 2017 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

A rural, quiet setting with a pond where geese, goslings, and ducks roam/swim. Several pull-thru sites. Most sites are grass but some are gravel. Office was pleasant but it isn't the cleanest. Our hunting dog had a huge area to run. Good place for an overnight. One review commented about a smell. We believe it is the humidity and the warm winter they are having in 2017. No cable even though there is a connection there. We had several local stations available. We camped at Payne's RV Park in a Motorhome.

Sleepy Sunflower RV Park (formerly Open Corral Campground), Ogallala, Nebraska

Date of Stay: March, 2016 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

We pulled in late. We had called earlier and advised owner of our ETA. She had a packet of info and site assignment for us in an envelope taped to the door. Park was not busy. Water was still shut off for the winter but all we wanted was electric hookup and a place to sleep. When we left the next morning, we could see the park was very clean and nicely cared for. If park is very full, it could be tight for big rigs to move around. Park was easy to get to from I-80. Truck traffic could be heard by morning. We camped at Sleepy Sunflower RV Park (formerly Open Corral Campground) in a Motorhome.

OK RV Park & Canyonlands Stables, Moab, Utah

Date of Stay: March, 2016 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

The park was ok. Nothing fancy. Gravel pads aren't very long. Our lot was fairly level. There are trees between most lots. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We were here during off-season so park wasn't very full. Wi-Fi was good. We camped at OK RV Park & Canyonlands Stables in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

There is a lot of sight seeing in the area--Arches and Canyonlands. If have a 4x4 with high clearance, i.e. jeep, take the Potash road (US279) out of Moab thru Canyonlands. First part of road runs near a mine, but once you get into the park, the views are amazing. Take it all the way up the switchbacks to the visitors center for a great ride!

Rose Valley RV Ranch, Silver City, New Mexico

Date of Stay: February, 2016 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

Excellent park. Rate included discount and taxes. Spacious sites with private area for table and chairs. The best part of the park for us was the huge area behind the park to run our hunting dog. Our site wasn't the most level but we were able to level the rig. Other sites looked good. The blue and white signs along US180 heading west were helpful in knowing where to turn to the park. AT&T cell service was poor in the area. Park's Wi-fi was good early in the morning. We camped at Rose Valley RV Ranch in a Motorhome.

We weren't impressed with historic downtown but it also was off season. We loved the drive and hike to Gila Cliff Dwellings and then over to the Chino mine.
