Flory's Cottages & Camping, Ronks, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

Typical for campgrounds in the area, fairly tight spacing, 10' or so between sites. Easy access to the campground, good central location for the area. Keep in mind it's farm country, you get the appropriate aromas. My small trailer was okay here, getting in and out of a site for bigger rigs may require getting folks to move there cars or trucks, not much clearance. I'll try it again off season, it's be real nice were it a little less packed. We camped at Flory's Cottages & Camping in a Fifth Wheel.

Middle Creek Campground, Buchanan, Virginia

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

Close sites but we're the only ones in this part so that's okay. Bathrooms are very old as is everything else. I believe this should be a hikers campground, which is probably what it really is. Way overpriced for what it is. Read the other comments for description of the road and the junk yard look to the place. We stayed up in back so we couldn't see the junky part. I'd not go up to the back parts with a bigger rig, it's not really made for rvs. Many very run down seasonal's, almost scary. If you are in an rv, choose another campground. We camped at Middle Creek Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

I can think of no negatives, if you are in the area and the $40 doesn't bother you, try it out. It was just an overnight for us, but a very nice one. We'll use this again when we're in Athens. We camped at Pine Lake RV Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Caledonia State Park, Hosack Run Campground, Fayetteville, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

Mostly small no hookup sites, roughly 20 with power. Roads okay. Many sites far from level. Great pool for an extra $4 a head. We were here on a Sunday night in early August, many open sites. Ok for a stop over, longer if you have kids. Bathrooms very dated, in need of maintenance and a lot of tlc. I'd stay here again, but not on a weekend. We camped at Caledonia State Park, Hosack Run Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Pine Acres Family Camping Resort, Oakham, Massachusetts

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $46.00
Overall Rating:

Great campground if you have kids although many of the seasonal folks seem to be retired. We used one of the transient sites, which were roughly half the park. Very nicely kept sites, the kids had a ball. Nice pool and lake, decent fishing. We camped at Pine Acres Family Camping Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Nickerson State Park, Brewster, Massachusetts

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

Nice place but like many of our state parks it is neglected. Sites need maintenance, showers are not cleaned, at least not in the last 4 nights. On the plus side its a good price in nice surrounding's in the middle of Cape Cod. Yes, I'd stay here again. We camped at Nickerson State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Harrisonburg / Shenandoah Valley KOA, Broadway, Virginia

Date of Stay: February, 2017 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

Keep in mind it's February and the park is pretty empty. Nice park, decently spaced for a KOA, lots of trees, easy to negotiate the roads and get into the sites. Abuts the national forest with a nice hiking trail if you are into such. Quiet. Bathrooms are pretty decent, clean, small, and a bit dated. Like most KOA's, it's overpriced. It's similar to a state park, the price should be more like one too. We camped at Harrisonburg / Shenandoah Valley KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Panther Creek State Park, Morristown, Tennessee

Date of Stay: February, 2017 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

Might be cause it's very early in the season and I do not see any hosts here, but the shower/bath stalls are not clean at 3pm on a Sunday. Fairly new bath houses, maybe in the last couple years, will be nice when cleaned, still, they are usable and better then many. Easy site access although many sites are a bit to close together. About half are full hookup, the rest electric/water. New asphalt pads. I think all are backin. About half could handle a big trailer or class A, small ones are in the 25' range. As of this writing, access from the south off I-81 is kind of convoluted, looks like they are putting in a highway from 81 to here abouts. GPS had no issues. They have wifi, not using it as it looks to be prepaid at checkin. Verizon in campground but it's kind of weak, much better using a booster. Beautiful park, well used by the locals on the weekends. That's a positive statement. I'll be back. We camped at Panther Creek State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Graceland RV Park & Campground, Memphis, Tennessee

Date of Stay: February, 2017 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Bathrooms very clean, showers in need or some maintenance, but they are hot and they do work. About half the sites are long term, maybe from the construction workers building the new facilities at Graceland. Sites are average in size and spacing, maybe 20' between sites, mostly pull thru. Pricey, but I guess that should be expected as you are at Graceland. Guard at the entrance, which is nice being in the city. Some road noise. Very busy street. We camped at Graceland RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

T. O. Fuller State Park, Memphis, Tennessee

Date of Stay: February, 2017 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Made reservations based on the 4 star ratings. Must have hit a bad time cause this place stunk to high heaven. Seems they built a waste treatment plant right next to the park. The host with the pitbull tells us this is the way it is when it gets humid, isn't Memphis always humid? Oh well, we left and found another campground. Had to eat the cost of the Park, no refunds on the day of arrival. In general the place looked okay, sites were not too close, the bath houses looked pretty new although we did not go in and look around. The park is in a fairly rundown part of town. Think I'll pass on this one in the future. We camped at T. O. Fuller State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Abilene State Park, Tuscola, Texas

Date of Stay: February, 2017 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Another run down Texas state park. Didn't use the provided restrooms, too far away and we have our own. Stayed in the $18 big rig area as they are the nicer sites although our 5th wheel would fit in a few of the 25' sites. Well spaced sites. The campground was okay, just run down, hence a 7. All the sites needed some care, you tracked in a mess when going into the camper. Roads are a bit narrow, backing in with bigger rigs looked to be a bit on the difficult side but everyone we saw made it. I would stay here again when passing through. We camped at Abilene State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Millwood State Park, Ashdown, Arkansas

Date of Stay: February, 2017 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice park, at least the newer 50A sites are. Concerning the 50A sites... Easy access for any size rig, look to be made to order for big rigs with tows. Well spaced, clean area. Lantern pole, fire ring, picnic table, and a place for a screen house or tent. Not cheap but worth the extra over the 30A sites to me. Brand new restrooms. A handfull are on the water as is 16 which we got. Feb is the slow season, great site, few other campers. Went through the 30A sites a that's all we needed, very tight to turn into, bathroom was closed, not very well maintained. Went with a full hookup 50A instead. We will certainly come back if we are ever in the area. Good job Arkansas. We camped at Millwood State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Balmorhea State Park, Balmorhea, Texas

Date of Stay: February, 2017 - $14.00
Overall Rating:

This is an okay state park, as usual, it is dated. The bathrooms are just okay, old and in need of replacement. We skipped using their showers as they have no private changing area, your kind of standing in he bathroom if you step out of the shower. Campsites are on the small side, most have a covered table and a grill, no open fires allowed. There is a huge spring fed swimming area, bring your suit. The pull through sites are okay for bigger rigs, not the back ins. This campground is okay for a couple nights while swimming or visiting the Fort Davis area. I'd stay here again if I couldn't get into Davis Mountain. No much in the area towns for services, come prepared. High chlorine taste and smell of the campgrounds water. $14 price does not include park access fee of $7 per head. We camped at Balmorhea State Park in a Fifth Wheel.
