Platte River RV & Campground, Glenrock, Wyoming

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

We decided to stay here based on other reviews. While we would like to have stayed in Casper, there really aren't any campgrounds I would consider staying at there based on reviews and all the nonsense that goes on in Casper. This place was easy to get to off the interstate. The owners are great people who keep this place clean and make it a pleasant place to stay. The grounds are very clean and better than average space between campers. We were in a long pull thru so we didn't have to unhook. Hook ups were like new and worked great. There are some long term folks there but no issues with them and no junk piled around like you sometimes see with long term. Will stay here again for sure. Make a reservation as they stay pretty full. One of the owners, also allowed us early check in since the site was open. $35 was the pay in cash price. We camped at Platte River RV & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Outlet (Melvern) COE, Melvern, Kansas

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very nice Corps Of Engineers campground. Shaded sites, well, taken care of, modern rest rooms and showers and washers and dryers. Water and electric on part of them and full hookup on the other part. Good space between sites that are mowed. Very quiet and peaceful there. They have several host volunteers and a frequent law enforcement ranger presence. So, if you are an all nighter, loud drunk, etc. or want to let your dog roam off leash because it is special and the rules don't apply to it, this is not the place for you. Very enjoyable three day stay. Lots of room during the week, fills up quite a bit on the weekends. Probably the nicest COE campground we have been in. No cost to make an online reservation!!!! We camped at Outlet (Melvern) COE in a Travel Trailer.

Seward County Fairground, Liberal, Kansas

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

10 full hookup sites. $10 for electric only, $15 for water and electric and $30 for water, electric and sewer. There is a lady in a black SUV that comes around several times a day to see what hookups you are using. There is a small drop box behind site 6 or 7 for payment but no envelopes so you need one of your own. Sites back up to a street but it is very quiet and road noise was not an issue. Sites are kind of close together but only one other rv there when we were there for 2 days. There are some small shade trees at the back of each site, big enough to sit in a chair under. It is just a flat lot with no frills but for $10 electric you can't beat it. Stone lot was level and no concerns of mud, etc. Limited Wal Mart Neighborhood grocery a short walk across the street and a small lot. We will stay here again. We camped at Seward County Fairground in a Travel Trailer.

Virgin River Canyon Recreation Area, Littlefield, Arizona

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $8.00
Overall Rating:

This is a beautiful location with spectacular views. We have stayed here in October for a few nights for the last several years. It has progressively gotten worse. There is no limit on the stay here so there are a number of homeless folks here, some with 8-10 people in one campsite. Trash cans are constantly overflowing, fire rings are full of trash and broken bottles. Lots of strange individuals wandering around staring at your vehicle, it's contents, your rv, etc. Lock everything up of you want to keep it. Lots of people come in as late as 2 am, making lots of noise, don't pay and leave early in the morning. No law enforcement presence here. There is a host here but he doesn't/can't deter anything. Don't get me wrong, I am compassionate to people who are down on their luck but this is more than that. Some discarded needles laying around and some of these folks look at you like you are a pot roast and they are a Pit Bull. Probably will not go back anymore. It is just too sketchy and feeling very uneasy the whole time you are there is just not good. We camped at Virgin River Canyon Recreation Area in a Travel Trailer.

Waters Edge RV Park & Pizzaria (formerly Josephine's RV Park), North Fork, Idaho

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

I would rate this campground higher than a 10 if I could. Spotless clean, beautifully landscaped, level sites right on the river, spectacular views, and at a price you can't beat. Owner couple are like 'Ever-Ready' bunnies working non stop every day keeping this place looking great. They go way out of their way to be helpful. Bathrooms and showers are spotless clean, and hookups are all all like new. Newer reliable electric hookups. Good voltage with no drops or surges. Water and sewer hookups look new also.

Fishing right out your door on the river or just get your feet wet. The sounds of the river is very relaxing. Lots of hiking nearby as well as more fishing, and scenic drives. You won't find a nicer, more relaxing place anywhere! The restaurant/pizzaria has great food. We camped at Waters Edge RV Park & Pizzaria (formerly Josephine's RV Park) in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

The restaurant/pizzaria serves excellent food Thursday thru Sunday 5pm-9pm. Like the campground itself, spotless clean and pleasant surroundings. Servers are clean cut, attentive and nice. I rate the pizza and other menu items a 10. Prices are reasonable and the beverages are cold! Also tables outside on the deck over looking the river.

7th Ranch RV Camp, Garryowen, Montana

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This is one of the cleanest, well kept campgrounds I have been in. Sites are mostly level and very nicely landscaped. Restrooms and laundry were immaculate. Mostly shaded with reasonable separation between sites. Someone previously complained on here about the water leaving spots on their RV after washing. This water is the softest, sweetest tasting water I have had in years. Not meant to be a car wash. Just a very pretty place with nice views and great staff. For the price, this place cannot be beat. If I had the chance after seeing them, I would try to reserve one of the super sites. My rig isn't that long but wow, what a view and huge sites for just a couple bucks more. Wi Fi worked average for an RV park. Good signal. We camped at 7th Ranch RV Camp in a Travel Trailer.

Amish Country Campsites, Winesburg, Ohio

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

As others have said owners are very nice and campground is clean. If you have a smaller rig this place will work for you. If your RV is more than about 27 feet, I do not recommend it. There are a couple longer sites but those were always filled. Even with a 27 ft RV, most sited have no place for your tow vehicle to park. The down sides here are the small sites that are close to each other. Almost no real place to even sit outside in a chair. There are many long term folks here that use the open "gray water" drains. Judging by the odor and closeness of the drains, I surmise they are draining more than gray water. Yes, there is free fire wood and raised fire rings but they are so close to other campers it would be a risk and very inconsiderate to have a fire as smoke would be all over your neighbor and probably you too. The driveway in and out is steep and only wide enough for one vehicle to go thru at a time. If someone is coming out you will have to back out onto a busy state route to let them out. Also, seasonal campers are allowed to park their tow vehicles face in towards their RV in the main drive where the dump station, again, creating a one lane situation. If someone is dumping, no one can go in or out because of this. It didn't rain during our stay but if it did, part of your site will be muddy. I would stay elsewhere next time we are in the area. We camped at Amish Country Campsites in a Travel Trailer.

Robertsville State Park, Robertsville, Missouri

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $19.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very nice state park. Be aware the site information on the website as far as slope per 10 feet is not really accurate. Essentially all sites have a good bit of slope and are not level front to back or side to side. Sites are somewhat close but there is a lot of ground cover for privacy. Hosts are out and about a lot and seem to keep things quiet for the most part. Restrooms were very clean. The biggest downside are the roads to the park are extremely narrow, winding and hilly. The edge of the pavement drops off a foot or more in many places and if you get over too far you are going to damage your rig. I would say the roads you have to travel to get here are just plain dangerous. Trees on the road in and in the campground need to be trimmed as some will brush the sides and top of your rv. We camped at Robertsville State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Lake El Reno RV Park, El Reno, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

This is a nice place with full hookups in the west end side of the RV park. In the evenings, young folks drive thru racing each other and throwing gravel. No patrol whatsoever by police or the non existent park ranger. BEWARE!!! At the southwest edge of the park they are putting in a bunch of double wide modular buildings that appear to be sleeping quarters or something similar. This has all the look of a future halfway house camp or some other similar problematic housing. Check with the city of El Reno before camping there as who knows what will be housed 200 yards from your campsite. The construction appears it will be done within a month or two. We stayed there May 18th 2017. We camped at Lake El Reno RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Beaver Canyon RV Park, Beaver, Utah

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Came into camp and decided to look first. What a mess. Lots of year round residents, junk, trash, couches sitting outside, etc. There is no way I would stay here after looking. The site I was offered had food trash on the ground, bananna peels, etc. Looks like a haven for rats mice, snakes etc. Sewer hook ups were at the front of the site making it impossible to hook up to. We camped at Beaver Canyon RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Beaver KOA, Beaver, Utah

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Came in early in the day and got a water/electric site for overnight. We were put in 41. AS the place filled up I learned I would have another camper 6 feet from me, which might be okay, except the dude came in at nearly 10pm slamming doors, etc. There are supposed to be driveway between the sites so you can get out, but, staff only escorts a few people in so people park every which way, blocking the drives to get out, which is especially bad when some of them are huge motorhomes towing cars on a trailer and it takes up part of the next persons site. The sites I described are behind the office. DO NOT GET ONE OF THESE< YOU WILL BE SORRY! Bathrooms were clean, but paint was peeling off the walls, one stall only had 1/2 a toilet seat. Not really up to standards for a KOA. Internet worked fair. Pool was already closed even though it was late September and temps were in the 80s. All roads and sites are gravel but beware of the baseball size rocks pretty much all over in the roads and sites. Driving over one would not be good for a tire. We camped at Beaver KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Riley Store RV Park, Riley, Oregon

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

An oasis in the middle of no where. There is a gas station/c store/archery shop under one roof and a post office across the street. Nice staff in the store. Water and electric hook ups appear to be nearly new. Aside from a few "creepers" that stop by the road to use the porta johns, garbage can and picnic tables the store puts there just to be nice, there were zero issues. I would stay here again for sure! Intermountain Motor Homes and RV Camp, Wendell, Idaho

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Super nice owners who really work hard to keep this place green, mowed and trimmed and looking nice. Unlike some campgrounds, they have rules here to avoid the nonsense. Sites are level with very good hookups. Shady and well taken care of. Easy on and off the interstate. Minimal road noise noticeable. Railroad track behind is a dead end spur. No trains while we were here. Quiet, pleasant and restful stop. Would stay here again in a heartbeat. No sewer but dump station is right there. Crater Lake RV Park (AKA Prospect RV Park), Prospect, Oregon

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

Nice staff and mostly shady sites. Some sites are not quite level, having a downslope. They charge you extra for having a dog. They tell you they will charge you if you break any rules. Not a bad idea with as many jerks that don't understand what quiet time is, your "special" dog has to be on a leash, etc. Zero Verizon cell service here and while it say wi fi, it simply does not work, period! Most sites. have the sewer, water and electric midway on the site, so to hook up you either have to be in a site 30 feet longer than you really need, or you hang out into the road, or you must unhook your rig and park behind. Three big trash cans, two were empty and chained closed, one that was not chained was overflowing. Not sure what the logic is there. Vale Trails RV Park , Vale, Oregon

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

As others have said, this is a nice park. Staff is very nice and helpful. Park is clean and sites are level, hookups are good. However, this campground has a cattle auction barn right behind it that goes full bore on Wednesdays. This involves smell and noise but also involves a guy with a Barney Fife sounding authoritairan voice calling out over a loud speaker what pens to put each cow in that has sold. He repeats the numbers twice, sometimes 3 times. Blasts you out of your camper with windows closed and air conditioner on. Also, a train track runs between the campground and cattle auction, but was only running during the day. Last, the road noise is really bad. 11th street must be a main drag as lots of traffic, lots of diesel pickups with loud exhaust and lots of big trucks including semi trucks. As there is a sharp curve there, they jake brake and floor it. I might stay here again but NEVER on a Wednesday and I would insist on being as far away from the road as possible. We camped at Vale Trails RV Park in a Travel Trailer.
