Heartland RV Park & Cabins, Hermosa, South Dakota

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Gravel sites, large grassy tent area, clean laundry room, friendly staff, all RV sites have grass in-between. The sites are close enough that "inconsiderate" neighbors might disturb you. The park is located next to the highway and across from railroad track so there is some noise from traffic. Workers in RVs occupied the rows against the highway. WiFi a bit slow at times. We stayed 10 days while we toured the Black Hills region. The only real complaint I have is the small cactus and wild rose hedge (under 2 inches) that are growing"willy-nilly" in the dog run. I would stay here again. We camped at Heartland RV Park & Cabins in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Fuel, pizza and major access roads to the Black Hills within a half mile. Wal-Mart 17 miles north in Rapid City. If driving across Custer State Park allow 45 minutes due to the 35 mph speed limits and possible "buffalo jams." Less traffic encountered during morning hours if traveling to Mt Rushmore, etc.

Lazy R Campground, Ranchester, Wyoming

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Clean, neat, pretty, friendly staff. Easy access around a city block. Concrete runners and grass with gravel street. Tall poplar trees provide evening shade. The only drawback is the occasional noise from a train, but you have that most anywhere along I-90. We were passing through and stayed one night in a 36' motor home with a tow vehicle. We would come again. We camped at Lazy R Campground in a Motorhome.

Timberline Campground, Waukee, Iowa

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed over night in pull-through. The park is very attractive, shady, quiet and well thought-out. A very restful place to stay. GPS directions are a little off so call the park to verify. I would come back again and stay longer if possible. We camped at Timberline Campground in a Motorhome.

Rondee's Campground, Mitchell, South Dakota

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed overnight in a pull through. RV park is located behind the Days Inn. No instructions given for entering our site and the layout was a bit confusing. Trash can located at your site. Plenty of walking area for your pet. Permanent residents sites were messy. I would stay again if nothing else was available. We camped at Rondee's Campground in a Motorhome.

Tomorrow's Stars RV Resort, South Charleston, Ohio

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed two days on a weekend so that we could visit The National Museum of the Air Force. Older park, interior roads paved and had heavy shade in the established permanent resident section. Newer sections were gravel roads with a few young trees. Large swimming pool, nicely landscaped and had a clean dedicated dog walk. Our site was grass and dirt. It rained one night, but the water drained off. We shared a water faucet with the site behind us. Road noise from I-70. We camped at Tomorrow's Stars RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Fort Chiswell RV Park, Max Meadows, Virginia

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

On a hill with easy access. Clean, neat spaces and really quiet even though it is close to the highway. We were traveling and stayed just one night. Cave attraction and National Park nearby. My only complaint was the "fruit flies" or gnats. Fruit and a neglected vegetable garden left with unpicked fruit which gave the gnats a place to thrive. We camped at Fort Chiswell RV Park in a Motorhome.

Cherry Hill Park, College Park, Maryland

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $68.00
Overall Rating:

Orientation provided for how and where to access transportation to D.C. Cleanest laundry room I've ever seen - including the floors. Every amenity within walking distance. Swimming pools, splash park, nature trail, cafe, store, bus stop, etc. Some spaces without shade. Short easy drive to the Metro with covered parking. We chose to use our vehicle instead of taking the bus that stops right in the park. Couple of miles from the park and easy access to Starbucks and groceries. We stayed a week. We camped at Cherry Hill Park in a Motorhome.

Wolfie's Campground, Zanesville, Ohio

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Traveling from D.C. this is a quiet retreat worth the short drive from I-70. Very neat, very clean and excellent staff. The drive way up the hill (2-way traffic) is paved, but narrow. Zero tolerance for noise, speed or unruly pets. Call early for reservations. We camped at Wolfie's Campground in a Motorhome.

Raccoon Valley RV Park - Escapees Rainbow Park, Heiskell, Tennessee

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $13.00
Overall Rating:

Older park, clean, well kept and exceptional staff. Spaces are very close together. We parked our tow crosswise behind our rig to keep it out of the roadway. Very nice outdoor patio area for public use. One mile off I-75, but fairly quiet except for high traffic times during morning and evening. That is, unless you get noisy neighbors or something unusual and unexpected happens during the night. Some shade. Nice pet area under old shade trees. Wooded area and hiking trails adjacent to the park. Easy access to groceries, etc. We bought tires and had them mounted on the rig at a local truck service across from the Pilot truck stop just two miles from the park. We camped at Raccoon Valley RV Park - Escapees Rainbow Park in a Motorhome.

OH! Kentucky Campground & RV Park, Berea, Kentucky

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Older campground at Exit 78. Has a small store and hardware store next door. Laundry, two swimming pools, large tent area and RV storage. No WiFi while we were here. Easy access to I-75 or historical area. Spaces close together, old-tree shade covers half the park. Workers occupy the side of the park opposite the pull-thrus. Local car wash next door. Fairly quiet even though it is off a busy highway. It rained hard while we were here but the water drained off quickly. We spent 3 nights there. We camped at OH! Kentucky Campground & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Chipmunk Crossing RV Park, West Plains, Missouri

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Worth the drive through the rolling hills of the country side - 8 miles from town. Quiet, peaceful, and the owners are wonderful, friendly, happy people. There are only three (3) big rig sites, but plenty of room for small to medium campers and you will really liked the distance between each campsite. The short walking trail for your pet is really a trail through the forested area. The pool is spotless as are the restrooms and the lawn. We were passing through and decided to stay for a week. This park is centrally located to nearby attractions and historical sites. The park is closed for the winter so call ahead - don't just show up. We will definitely come back this way. We camped at Chipmunk Crossing RV Park in a Motorhome.

Red Ledge RV Park, Kanarraville, Utah

Date of Stay: September, 2014 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

Off the interstate a short distance. Clean, quiet, and friendly. A great place to relax and enjoy the country quiet. This park can accommodate tents as well as big rigs, although the pull-through pads are bit close together when the park is full. We stayed here a week while visiting nearby attractions. Inquire about Escapee and PA member discounts. We camped at Red Ledge RV Park in a Motorhome.
