Gulf Shores / Pensacola West KOA, Lillian, Alabama

Date of Stay: February, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This our third stay. We like KOAs and found this park in 2016 evacuating S Fla during a hurricane. Pricing for a month stay is excellent. Facilities are older but very well kept, including a pool, playground and clubhouse. Grass is mowed and trash (often a sore point with us) is isolated, collected often and kept clean. There are planned activities each week. We have participated in the ones we liked. If we have a concern, it is that this park has many devotees that come back year after year (maybe a very few year round) for the season. While the regulars are certainly friendly, itinerants, even monthlies like us aren't part of this large central group. We camped at Gulf Shores / Pensacola West KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

There are some interesting country merchants on the Alabama side as well as Gulf Shores and Orange Beach. (These about 30 min away.) On the Florida side (also 30 min) all the advantages of a Pensacola size city are available. Perdido Key is 15 min away.

Egg Harbor Campground & RV Resort, Egg Harbor, Wisconsin

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $74.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed in the newly constructed section that has concrete pad with grass patio sites. It was lovely. The Park has the pool, playground, showers and picnic areas that are expected. We are particularly impressed with how courteous and helpful the staff is, and how hard they work to keep this place in beautiful, tip top condition. We will return as often as possible! We camped at Egg Harbor Campground & RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Oak Forest RV Park, Austin, Texas

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

This should be a great place, based on its construction but, grounds keeping is poor, rules are many, staff is uninformed, lazy, remote and less than friendly. The short term site are long, beautiful, paved pull thru. Hook ups work well. There is a very large section of long term residents, separate from the short term sites. A huge addition to the short term section is being constructed. There is a nice pool, but no playground. We saw no children. There were a number of high end rigs. This place could be amazing. But it needs to grow up. We camped at Oak Forest RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
