Sunset RV Park, Oswego, New York

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

Small cluttered, dusty park. Owner had to get a couple of people to move cars in order for me to back my coach in to my site. Site was level and utilities worked well. Even with my signal amplifier I never could get the WIFI to connect. Park is across the street from Lake Ontario, so we left the park and enjoyed a nice sunset. Easy access to Oswego. Turning into the park from the road was impossible when coming in from Haynes Road. I put on the flashers, disconnected the tow, and did a uturn in the lot across the street in order to enter. We camped at Sunset RV Park in a Motorhome.

Maple Lane RV Park, Cuba, New York

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Long, open pull through; level; quiet; easy access. Utilities worked well, but could not get WIFI to work. Well kept property and park is for sale. Speed limit is 5 mph and road has something like frost heaves to enforce it! We camped at Maple Lane RV Park in a Motorhome.

Pine Cove Beach Resort, Charleroi, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

One way in and out of the RV section, but little traffic. Utilities worked well, including WIFI with our signal amplifier. Hookup post should have been about 6' further toward the center of the site, but it was adequate. Site was level and park quiet. 35+ miles to Pittsburgh, but there is no good park closer. The entrance/exit is on a curve on a narrow two lane highway, so getting in and out of the park requires nice people in the vehicles on the road you will take up the entire road making the turn. We camped at Pine Cove Beach Resort in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Utilities, including WiFi with our amplifier, worked well and were in the right position. Site was level and easy to access. Site 13 gave clear access to satellite for TV purposes, but some sites do not. Staff efficient, courteous, and helpful. We camped at Fort Chiswell RV Park in a Motorhome.

Happy Traveler RV Park, Thonotosassa, Florida

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Old park built when RVs were smaller, so sites are barely adequate for larger rigs. Sites are dirt and grass. Ours was level and easy to access. Location is good for access to Temple Terrace, New Tampa, and Brandon, which is what we needed. Electric amperage was marginal (tripped circuit breaker once) and WIFI was fair to poor. Sewer connection was old style with no threads on pipe. Park was pleasantly quiet. We camped at Happy Traveler RV Park in a Motorhome.

Quail Run RV Resort, Wesley Chapel, Florida

Date of Stay: November, 2017 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed this time in the "new" section. We had reserved site 157, but when we arrived we were put into site 160. That would not have mattered, but 160 is smaller than 157 which made it tight for our car. The rate for a month is $800 plus electric, which ran a staggering $165 during October. We also bought 6 gallons of propane for which they charged $5 per gallon. Add to that the poor attitude of the office staff and it can make one want to shop around before returning to the area. We camped at Quail Run RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Rutledge Lake RV Park, Fletcher, North Carolina

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed for 2 months and it was, overall, a satisfactory experience. Our back-in site was next to the pool, but was surprisingly quiet. Congestion on the roadway, though, was chronic. Nearly everyone on our row had 2 vehicles in addition to an RV, so cars and trucks were parked all along the edge of the passageway. Sites were just long enough for a 40' rig, but wide enough for vehicles to park. Power in the campground was low voltage at peak heat in August and tripped once. Sewer connection was at the rear of the site instead of near the center with the water and electric connections. Park is conveniently located to services in Fletcher and easy access to Hendersonville and Asheville. Staff was very accommodating in putting us in a site facing north with no tree interference for our TV satellite. We camped at Rutledge Lake RV Park in a Motorhome.

Down By The River Campground, Pineola, North Carolina

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

All in all, this is a nice park. Level, clean, quiet, utility connections in the right place and utilities worked well, including WIFI with our signal amplifier. Staff and neighbors were very pleasant. On the down side, there is no actual sewer system. The park is maintained with two septic systems - one for the laundries and one for the RV sites. Consequently, customers are prohibited from using their on-board washers and are required to use the park's commercial laundry. Also, even though they charge a premium price, they do not accept credit cards. Location is a bit remote. To access most services you will need to travel to Newland, Spruce Pine, or Boone. We camped at Down By The River Campground in a Motorhome.

Lakewood RV Resort (55+ park), Flat Rock, North Carolina

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

We planned to spend five months here this summer, but two months was enough. If you are coming for a few days or a week to see Hendersonville, this place will probably suit you fine. They have some design and management problems that take away from what could be a fine park.

On the plus side, utilities, including WIFI, were fine. They have a section of pull throughs and larger back in sites that are adequate for larger rigs. Try to get a back in space if you want to enjoy your patio and awning as those sites face north. When they designed the pull through area, they made the mistake of facing them all south and then planted a tree on the southwest corner of each site. Motorhomes get the mid-day and afternoon sun on the windshield and on the patio (unless you happen to get a large rig as a neighbor on the west side). The trees by the sites have now grown large and management does not keep them trimmed, so limbs lean on the roof and sides of the rigs and interfere with some satellite TV reception.

When you enter the park, you will notice an island that is off center in the roadway. There is plenty of room to enter, but when you leave, if you stay to the right as the arrow points, you will have to be careful to not clip the objects in the island on the left and will brush the trees on the right all the way down the side of your coach. Don't know why the island is there or, at least, why it is where it is.

The park is owned by a friendly retired couple. Unfortunately, they turned the management and maintenance of the park over to their daughter and son-in-law, neither of whom is schooled or proficient at customer service or business management. Employees will tell you one thing and the manager will, with attitude, tell you something else. This caused problems with reservations, parking direction, and charge for electricity. We camped at Lakewood RV Resort (55+ park) in a Motorhome.

Twin Lakes RV Park, Cumming, Georgia

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Utilities are in the right place on our site and worked well, although the water hookups are in a hole underground making it awkward to access (it is because it freezes in winter). WIFI was strong and consistent with our signal amplifier. There are no excellent RV parks in the north Atlanta area, so this is clearly the best there is. Sites are level on gravel and easy to access. Nice ponds with fountains. If you want to have a site on the water don't plan to stay long - they have no sewer hookups. Park remains in the 19th century in that they do not take credit cards. We camped at Twin Lakes RV Park in a Motorhome.

Pine Ridge Campground, Roebuck, South Carolina

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Convenient stopover park from I-26 (about 2.5 miles). A good bit farther from I-85 (about 15 miles). Older section is treed with some sites not so level. Newer section has pull throughs and back ins with nice level concrete pads and open to the satellites. Utilities worked well and were in the right place. Adequate WIFI with our signal amplifier. The Barnyard RV Park, Lexington, South Carolina

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

Section A has the long and wide pull throughs. Our 40' unit with a tow car barely fit on the site in section B and getting in with the car attached is tight. Utilities okay, but there is no WIFI at the site. dirt site is level. If you have some reason to stop in Columbia, this is the best there is, but it is no resort. Tampa East RV Resort, Dover, Florida

Date of Stay: March, 2017 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

We were in a "Super" site. They are far from super. They are about 1/4 the size of the regular sites and twice the price. They have concrete parking pads while the regular sites are dirt and grass which convert to mud when it rains a lot. WIFI is weak at its best (we have a signal booster) and it requires logging on repeatedly during the day. Utilities are basically okay, but we did have one electric outage and another brownout. Sites around the pool are noisy and our site backs up to within 2 feet of the rig behind us. We camped at Tampa East RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Utilities are properly placed and worked well. WIFI is offered, but we could not get Internet access despite our signal amplifier - "Local only". Coastal Haven RV Resort, Fairhope, Alabama

Date of Stay: January, 2017 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

If you want swimming pools, playgrounds, horseshoe pits, and such, this won't be your place. If, though, you want a quality RV park with good services, level spacious sites in a quiet, friendly environment, you will like this place. Utilities are properly placed and worked well. WIFI was one of the best we have encountered anywhere (we routinely use a signal amplifier). Many return snowbirds are friendly and inclusive. Location is a bit out of town, but that means it is quiet while still being convenient to services. Park is well managed and well maintained. Rate shown is the daily amount for monthly stay. We camped at Coastal Haven RV Resort in a Motorhome.
