Chestnut Ridge Park, Bruceton Mills, West Virginia

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

A very back in the forest park. Several miles of winding hilly road to get to the park. Too far off the beaten path for just an overnight stop. Roads were paved but narrow. Registration was easy and friendly. Poor parking space for RVs at registration. Roads to the campsites were gravel/dirt/small ruts. Very little privacy between sites. I do not think there is a level campsite in the place. Both front wheels were well off the ground to get the motorhome level. OTA TV spotty. Good cell reception. We camped at Chestnut Ridge Park in a Motorhome.

Beautiful! In every direction you look. I took stars off due to the site being slightly unlevel. My front tires were slightly off the ground. No WIFI. Internet and phone reception good. Only a few OTA TV stations. We camped at Stonewall Resort, Briar Point Campground in a Motorhome.

Lumberton/I-95 KOA Campground, Lumberton, North Carolina

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Friendly helpful staff. New owners. You can tell they are seriously remodeling the entire campground. The restrooms/showers were in the middle of being remodeled so not so nice yet. Clean air conditioned laundry. NICE. Well stocked store. Clean level sites. Good free WIFI. Great TV antenna reception. There was constant interstate noise but not to bad. It did not bother me. Great stop on the way to/back from Florida. We camped at Lumberton/I-95 KOA Campground in a Motorhome.

Whip In RV Park, Big Spring, Texas

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

A great little campground for a stopover. Not a destination campground although it is a good base camp for exploring the area. Laundry area was clean but seemed expensive at $2 a wash and $2 a dry. Manager lives on-site and is very friendly and helpful. Free cable TV. Free WIFI that I kept getting kicked off. Good water. Good electric. I would stay here again. We camped at Whip In RV Park in a Motorhome.

Friendly helpful staff. Level sites. Easy in and out. Large clean laundry. Sites had no shade. Rest rooms/showers were individual private bathrooms. Well stocked campstore. I would stay there again. Good TV antenna reception. WiFi was from TENGO. It did not work for me. We camped at Coffee Creek RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Campbell Cove RV Resort, Lake Havasu City, Arizona

Date of Stay: November, 2016 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

Sites were so close that there was little to no room for awnings. There was no picnic table and no fire ring and no patio. The entire place was asphalt lot. Side to side hookups forcing your door to face your neighbors door. Wifi was extra. Laundry room was clean. Pool was clean. Staff was nice and helpful. Do not pay extra for lake view. There are storage and industrial buildings between the campground and the lake. Sites were all level. There was bearly enough room for my toad. Parked perpindicular to the front of the motorhome and slightly sticking out into the road. I would stay there again. We camped at Campbell Cove RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Neat and tidy. Easy access off the interstate. Nice selection of souviners, some food and alcohol in the store. Easy access to propane station. Swiftwater RV Park & Store, White Bird, Idaho

Date of Stay: November, 2016 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

A beautiful little campground on the Salmon River. Pull in sites with great views of the river. Super friendly owners live on site and take superior pride in their campground. The bathrooms are fantastic. Each one is private just like a home bathroom. And decorated like a home bathroom with pictures, a chair, bathmat, soap, paper towels. The laundry room is equally home-like. The bathrooms and laundry are together in an area under the owners home. You walk through a sliding glass door into the area that looks like someone's finished basement. Sites are fairly close with shade trees. Power and water are good and easy to connect. There are no sewer connections but the dump station is easy access and clean. Quiet. Nicely dark at night for star gazing. I extended my stay and would definitely stay there again. We camped at Swiftwater RV Park & Store in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The entrance is a very tight turn. There is a large gravel parking area that offers you an area to make a big wide swing into the entrance. No cable. No OTA television. WiFi available but a tad slow. You can pull into the river (back in ) sites so their is a river view through your motorhome windshield. The pullthru sites are rather short for huge motorhomes towing and huge 5th wheels.

Alpine Country Store & RV Park, Hayden, Idaho

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

This is a campground behind a convenience store/gas station. Register at the store. Must give a $10 deposit for the bathroom/shower/laundry key. Just off the highway so easy in and out. The place is nothing special. The laundry was a dismal with broken machines. In the evening the sprinklers came on right in front of the laundryroom door. Did not visit the bathrooms because I have my own. If passing through the area I would stay here again. We camped at Alpine Country Store & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Not fancy but well kept. In a field just outside of town. Need toad to go get supplies in town. All pullthru sites. Good hookups. Very few trees. Easy in and out. Right on highway. Bathroom/showers were clean but seemed very claustrophobic. The stalls had plastic curtains instead of doors. Laundry 2washers/2dryers and very clean. I would stay here again. Super friendly, helpful owners live on site. Very clean and well kept. Sites fairly close with shade trees. Quite a few long term/permanent residents. The residents were quiet but the campground sits between a freeway and an airport so there is always traffic noise. Easy in and out. Good OTA tv reception. Good Verizon connection. Could have better WiFi. A nice little park that is neat as a pin. Querky wood carved animal statues throughout the park. Pool is small but clean. Laundry room is spotless. Owners and staff are friendly and helpful. Beautiful location with lots of huge trees. I had FHU but there is easy access to the dump station and drinking water. They also sell propane. A great little park that I would stay at again. Was there in a motorhome. We camped at Campground St. Regis in a Motorhome.

Blue Lake RV Resort, Naples, Idaho

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

You cross a very busy railroad track on the way into the campground. Trains go by day and night blowing their whistle. Depending on whether you have the A/C running and if you are a light sleeper they can be a bother. I love trains so it was music to my ears. The campground has many levels but is very easy to maneuver. My pull-through was very level. Owners very friendly and accommodating. Directed me to my site. Beautiful lake. The bath/shower house has individual bathrooms just like you have at home. You walk into a complete private bathroom with full shower and lock the door behind you. Clean and inexpensive laundry room. WiFi was poor but I was not very close to the office. A nice selection of over the air TV stations available. Full hookup utilities easy access and good location on the site. Between the pull-through sites there is a nice small solid fence shielding your neighbor's sewer hookup from view at your picnic table. There are several trees between the pull-throughs but not at every site. The rest of the campground has a huge canopy of trees. I stayed here for 2 weeks. We camped at Blue Lake RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Close to the highway so easy in and out, but if coming from the south go past the entrance, make a U-turn just up the road at a wide pull off. Come back south on the highway and the sharp turn onto the campground road is easier.

Great place to stay while you explore Bonners Ferry, Sandpoint, Naples, Canada, and the surrounding forests. Naples has a great General Store that also includes the post office. It also has yummy homemade cookies and ice cream cones. And just about anything else. Bonners Ferry has some great places to eat. A museum and a great history.
