Caliente Springs Resort (55+ park), Desert Hot Springs, California

Date of Stay: February, 2017 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This is our second visit to this park. We enjoy the area and love the thermal pool, so we came back. People are pretty friendly but rather clique as many have been returning for years. There are so many things to do in the area and we chose a site (456) with a view. That was beautiful but the price to pay is WIND, which can rip through the valley with a vengeance. Be aware whether you want ambiance vs comfort. Park is centered around golf. Good roads for bikes but narrow for large rigs. Seems they are looking to convert park to all park models. Laundry clean but inconveniently located at main office building. We felt safe and met some nice people and would return again. Sites are old but more than adequate, easy to level. No tables at sites. Water was barely potable per our tester so everyone uses bottled water (.30) that was cheaper at local kiosks. Only one trash dump that was frequently out of order but maintained with alternate plans for collection, again inconveniently located only at entrance to park. Staff were all friendly and actively trying to sell park models, inviting us to BBQ sales talks every week. They weren't too pushy and we did not attend talks. All in all it was a satisfactory two month stay for us, without incident. We camped at Caliente Springs Resort (55+ park) in a Motorhome.

Copake KOA, Copake, New York

Date of Stay: September, 2014 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed at the KOA in Copake, New York for two nights. The site was not level enough to comfortably pull our slides out and had a terrible sewer odour. The bugs were horrific. We would NOT stay there again and would advise anyone else to look elsewhere.

We are full timers and have spent many nights in different parks, this was the rudest we have ever run into.

It is a large and busy camp with lots of rules. Rules are good, they keep things orderly. However, it is noisy, loudspeaker weekend parties and everyone crammed in for optimum money making for the (new) owner and his wife. What a beautiful area that could make this beautiful piece of land a jewel. Oh well, we move on and can warn you ahead of time, find someplace else to stay!! We camped at Copake KOA in a Motorhome.
