St. George / Hurricane KOA, Hurricane, Utah

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

Park is all dirt and gravel. Our site was on a terrace so there was a sharp incline to get into my spot. Lot's of wind here, hence the name Hurricane! The staff was mixed, the woman that checked us in was great, others not so great. Utilities were fine. Price was based on RPI. Many transient because of KOA so people don't know what 5 mph means! We spent 9 nights to see all the parks. Would stay again under RPI. We camped at St. George / Hurricane KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Antelope Valley RV Park, Delta, Utah

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

Delta is on our way to the Great Basin National Park, and is on the "loneliest highway" but.... the park is really kept up very nice! Good hook-ups, although the water spigot is in a weird spot. The grounds are well manicured and the staff are friendly and helpful! We had a back site that we were able to pick that backed up to an alfalfa field. Road noise never bothered us and the trains in the distance were a pleasure. We camped at Antelope Valley RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Topaz museum in town was very impressive. If you have time AFTER you visit the museum drive the 15 miles to the actual Topaz Internment Camp.

RiverBend RV Park and Campground, Luling, Texas

Date of Stay: March, 2016 - $17.00
Overall Rating:

Second time staying here. Less full time workers living here because of the downturn in oil production. There is a working horse race training track next to the park. We were fortunate to have a view out our window and be able to watch their horse running the track each morning. Lot's of grass, clean and cheap laundry. Good electricity, water and sewer hookups. Pull throughs were extra long. Very pretty park with nice views. The San Marcos River runs next to the park. We will come back to this great park. We camped at RiverBend RV Park and Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

BBQ is king around here! Luling has City Market and nearby Lockhart has Smitty's Market, Kreuz's Market, Blacks BBQ and for the value conscience there is always Chisholm Trail BBQ.

Road Runner RV Park (formerly Parkview Mobile Home & RV Park), Fort Stockton, Texas

Date of Stay: March, 2016 - $13.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed in Fort Stockton 3 years ago and stayed in another park (with the arrows) because of the poor reviews for Parkview. We are are full timers so we need value as we travel, but need to feel safe. Because of the oil workers the other park could not accommodate us this time. I reluctantly reserved for two nights with Vea Anna for the two nights. She was very friendly and seemed to appreciate the call. On the way in we were delayed by road construction in El Paso for three hours. I called to verify reservation with Wallis. Again he was very friendly and assured us everything was fine. We pulled in and Wallis checked us in. Everything went fine and we were given a good pull through site with good 50 amp, water and sewer. It was further from the freeway (although an easy drive) so it was quieter then the other park. It is NOT a resort as it is dirt and gravel sites with many full time workers, but for a night or two it hits the spot just right! And for the price I would definitely stay here again! We camped at Road Runner RV Park (formerly Parkview Mobile Home & RV Park) in a Fifth Wheel.

Thousand Trails - Crescent Bar, Quincy, Washington

Date of Stay: July, 2014 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

This campground is in transition. The new manager is great to work with! The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Sites are being slowly improved. Weekend breakfast are cheap and good. The pool was warm which we appreciated because most of the Thousand Trails pools are too cold. We will definitely return. We camped at Thousand Trails - Crescent Bar in a Fifth Wheel.

Ponderosa Falls RV Resort , Cheney, Washington

Date of Stay: June, 2014 - $13.00
Overall Rating:

Rate reflects RPI with extra for electricity charge. The pull throughs are reserved for KM members which I can appreciate. We were given a back-in site that had no chance for satellite reception so I asked to relocate. We were reassigned a site on the hill that backed up to a great view of the park with just grass behind us and although without 4x4 it may have been a problem in the rain, it was perfect for us! Very nice site. Park was clean and staff was very friendly. Would stay again when staying near Spokane. We camped at Ponderosa Falls RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Thousand Trails Nevada, Las Vegas, Nevada

Date of Stay: May, 2013 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

From prior reviews I was expecting a bad park. It turned out much better than I had expected! We opted for a 50 amp site and I can say that it is good 50 amp. The site next to us is on a corner. In the not so busy (hot) months they try not to use it in order to make it easier for the big rigs to negotiate the corner. This essentially gives me 2 site width out my door to the corner. The staff has been very friendly and helpful. I will definitely return to this park. We camped at Thousand Trails Nevada in a Fifth Wheel.

Amarillo Best Wonderland RV Resort, Amarillo, Texas

Date of Stay: April, 2013 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

We paid the weekly rate. It was a bargain for a good park. It is terraced and we were concerned about getting into the pull through site, but it turned out to be no problem. Electricity and water was good as was the Wi-Fi. It turned out to be a good location for the 10 days we were in Amarillo. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming. In fact, the GPS was getting us there a weird way and host stayed on the phone with me and talked me in! Once the host saw me on the highway we were good to go! :) We will return! We camped at Amarillo Best Wonderland RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Enchanted Trails RV Park & Trading Post, Albuquerque, New Mexico

Date of Stay: April, 2013 - $17.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed at the weekly PA rate. We were put in the back of the park which was good because not so much road noise. Even though there were a lot of open sites, they kept grouping everyone together. Not sure why, seems like you could go every other site to give room. People don't know how not to infringe on others space! Other than that the water and electric was good. Sewer was too high off the ground. It is a good value with PA and I will return. We camped at Enchanted Trails RV Park & Trading Post in a Fifth Wheel.

Coachlight Inn & RV Park, Las Cruces, New Mexico

Date of Stay: February, 2013 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

Based upon other reviews of this park I was expecting the worse so maybe my review might be generous because of it. We were pleasantly surprised that although we would Never stay at the motel the RV park was actually very nice. FHU all worked well. We will stay here again when visiting Las Cruces! We camped at Coachlight Inn & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

RiverBend RV Park and Campground, Luling, Texas

Date of Stay: February, 2013 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

Level gravel sites with grass between sites. Many of the the tenants are long term oil field workers but have decent rigs. We had a problem at check-in that we had changed our dates and they had made a mistake on when we were coming in. They were totally booked, but realizing the mistake called someone on the road and had to ask them to find another campground. They were nice enough to oblige and were not upset. The Wi-Fi was good as was the electricity and water. We enjoyed City Market BBQ and also went into Lockhart from here and had Kreutz and Smitty's as well! We will return to River Bend if we are in the area. We camped at RiverBend RV Park and Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Segovia River Valley RV Park, Junction, Texas

Date of Stay: February, 2013 - $12.00
Overall Rating:

There should be more campsites like this along the interstates! This is a very basic overnighter that with the Passport-America rate was only $12.00. It was not attractive and if it was a destination place I would give it a 1 or 1.5 but since we just wanted a safe place to stay overnight along this very long interstate 10 stretch with good hookups for cheap this place fits the bill with a strong 5 rating, it is good for what is is! We didn't even need to unhook the truck from the 5th wheel. As a side note, the truck stop which you can walk to had a GREAT chicken fried steak at a very good price. We camped at Segovia River Valley RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Comanche Land RV Park (closed), Fort Stockton, Texas

Date of Stay: February, 2013 - $16.00
Overall Rating:

Very basic dirt sites. The sites are very long so we were able to keep hooked up to the 5th wheel overnight. I was able to connect to the Wi-Fi, but never able to actually get online, but I was able to tether on my AT&T phone. This is a good overnight stay for a reasonable price on the very long Interstate 10 through Texas! Just look for the big arrows stuck in the ground. We camped at Comanche Land RV Park (closed) in a Fifth Wheel.

Mountain View RV Park, Santa Paula, California

Date of Stay: October, 2012 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

The price is based upon the 4 week rate. This is a very nice park in Santa Paula. Cable TV and Wi-Fi is included in price. The two managers are the nicest and most accommodating I have met! They maintain the park everyday, so the park is immaculate. No pool, but there is a large hot tub available only to the RV park. There is a mobile home park behind the RV park. Best deal in Ventura County. I will return whenever I visit family here. We camped at Mountain View RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Klamath River RV Park, Klamath, California

Date of Stay: August, 2012 - $14.00
Overall Rating:

After reading others reviews about this campground I was concerned about staying a week here. To my surprise it is a lovely park. I came in on RPI and it does list the $4.00 electric charge. Now although I do think that is too much I came in knowing it, so it was not a surprise. WiFi was spotty but I was given a free trial for 24 hours and it did allow me to communicate including writing my blog. I chose to re-up for the whole week and he was nice enough to give me a deal because the WiFi needed work. Power was good, but water pressure did go down in the mornings during "shower" time. This is a good park and considering the looks of other parks near by, a real gem! We camped at Klamath River RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
