Mt. Princeton RV Park, Buena Vista, Colorado

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice and clean park. Owners were friendly and helpful. All sites and interior roads are gravel. Each site has a grassy area, picnic table and some shade (some trees are small). Park has both pull thru and back-in sites. Rates are comparible with other campgrounds in the area. We stay in Buena Vista at least once a year and in the past have stayed at another campground. This year the our old campground was full and decided to stay at Mt. Princeton. Not sorry we did and will definitely stay there again. Campground also offers cabins and has installed several Park models (a couple are currently for sale). Park does not have cable but there is local TV channels available. Great view of the mountains and the park was quiet. We camped at Mt. Princeton RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Fishing at several nearby mountain lakes. Independence Pass is a nice and scenic day trip. Another day trip is over Cottonwood Pass to Crested Butte and Gunnison and back via Monarch Pass (very scenic).

Cottonwood Cove, Wagon Wheel Gap, Colorado

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here in Aug, 2016 in a Class A motorhome. Camp owners and hosts are friendly and helpful. Beautiful views. The park is next to a hill with a huge rock bluff (probably over 700 ft to the top) on one side and the Rio Grande River on the other side.

Campground has rental jeeps and horseback rides with a guide. Only minutes from both South Fork and Creede. Good fishing, both stream and lakes, in the area.

Campground is nothing special with most of the sites without shade, only 8-10 had shade. Most sites are pull through and all sites are gravel with varying levelness. No picnic tables. Restaurant on site for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Good food. We camped at Cottonwood Cove in a Motorhome.

Prude Ranch, Fort Davis, Texas

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Staff was friendly and courteous. The setting is nice and scenic. There is only 30 RV sites (not 40) and most are not level. All are dirt and/or gravel. The first site they put me in was so unlevel that my front wheels were over 9 inches off the ground when I got level and the bottom step was almost 2 feet off the ground. Only 3 sites are 50 amp, the rest are 30 amp. The sewer hookups are mostly between 8-10 inches above ground level. Water pressure was good. Power and water pedestals look like they came from the Dark Ages. Appears that all work to improve the RV sites has stopped some time ago. They DO NOT take reservations. Not sure about Restrooms or Showers. If there are any they would be in the office or the cabins. Most sites are back-ins, others they classify as pull-thrus are actually where you "pull-thru" into a pasture and pecan grove to turn around. I will not return. We camped at Prude Ranch in a Motorhome.

Santa Rosa Campground & RV Park, Santa Rosa, New Mexico

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Passing thru and stayed one night. Park has 91 RV sites, most are pull-thrus, plus several tent camping sites. Both 30 & 50 amp available. Sewer not available at most sites. Water pressure was good. WiFi was acceptable. All gravel roads. RV sites were fairly level and our pull-thru was long enough to handle our 38 ft motorhome and toad and adequate in width. Some shade. Pet friendly. An onsite restaurant with good BBQ (smoked daily on premises) and steaks. Swimming pool and playground. All staff was friendly and helpful. GPS coordinates are OFF in Santa Rosa and actual location was almost a 1/2 mile east of location given by our GPS. Owner stated he had tried for over 2 years to get a correction with no results. Would definitely stay there again. We camped at Santa Rosa Campground & RV Park in a Motorhome.
