Coastline RV Resort, Eastpoint, Florida

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $56.00
Overall Rating:

We had one of the 5 sites with a beautiful bay view, but be aware that the busy Hwy. 98 is between you and the water. The highway noise didn't bother us even though we spent a lot of time sitting outside on the very nice patio. You can walk across the road to enjoy a nice fishing dock with benches, but there is no beach access. You might want to bring along your umbrella since the picnic table has a hole for that. You can only buy ice and t-shirts in the office but can find groceries and restaurants in nearby Eastpoint. Nicest bathhouses I've ever seen, small but adequate laundry room, nice pool, screened porch and clubhouse. Most facilities are accessed by a keycode. We camped at Coastline RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Carrabelle, Eastpoint, Apalachicola, and St. George are all nearby with many restaurants and old Florida history. Don't miss the Cape St. George lighthouse and pretty beaches. Go to Carrabelle to visit a military museum and Crooked River lighthouse. You can take a nice boat ride along Appalachicola's waterfront with a colorful captain full of local stories.

Williston Crossings RV Resort, Williston, Florida

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $65.00
Overall Rating:

We attended a rally here and found the clubhouse to be a comfortable gathering place. The pool area is beautiful though the nearby snack facility was not open during our stay. I was disappointed to see such small washers in the laundry room. There was one larger, expensive one. There was no change machine and the office is closed on Sunday so I couldn't get the quarters I needed. Good place to ride a bike or walk. Picnic table was made for just 2 people. We camped at Williston Crossings RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Finding an on site hair salon was a surprise here. Williston is a small town so don't look for a WalMart nearby. The Ivy House is near the campground, has good food, and is in a lovely Victorian house with a gift shop upstairs. The town's post office is nearby.

Cary State Forest, Bryceville, Florida

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $21.00
Overall Rating:

Very spacious site on largest cement pad ever! There was a fire ring with benches plus a picnic table. There are only 6 sites set a good distance apart, so this park offers plenty of privacy. Only after you pass the turn off to sites do you see a sign directing you to park on your site if you have a reservation. Sign should come sooner. We camped at Cary State Forest in a Fifth Wheel.

Our one night stay didn't allow for exploration. Be aware there is no on site store. We didn't even see a ranger or host. We would certainly stay here again.

Cages Bend COE, Gallatin, Tennessee

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $13.00
Overall Rating:

Wish we could have stayed more than one night here. Even though we weren't lakeside, we still had a nice view of the very pretty lake. Our site used wood to create a 2nd level, and some of this wood needs replacing. The host at the gate was not that welcoming, but a ranger who came by our site was very friendly. We camped at Cages Bend COE in a Fifth Wheel.

Wytheville KOA, Wytheville, Virginia

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $46.00
Overall Rating:

We have had one night stays here several times as we traveled North. Our last stay was June 28, 2018. The Family Fun Center provides lots of entertainment with bowling, a batting cage, arcade games, ice cream, and even free popcorn. We were on site L11 in newest area of the campground. Staff was friendly. We camped at Wytheville KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Riverside Campground & Resort, Sevierville, Tennessee

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

We were only here 1 night but would certainly stay at Riverside again. Our site was not right on the river, but there was easy accessibility to benches and even fire rings along the water. It's easy to see this is a family oriented campground promoting a wholesome atmosphere. We camped at Riverside Campground & Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Pla-Mor Campground, Inc., Bremen, Indiana

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

The park evidently has some drainage issues. We were there after a rain that left a lot of standing water. All the staff we encountered were teenagers though they were polite for the most part. The pool was really nice, and the campground store included a snack bar with ice cream and some sandwiches fixed on site. We camped at Pla-Mor Campground, Inc. in a Fifth Wheel.

Elkhart County Fairgrounds, Goshen, Indiana

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here during an RV Rally and were in the infield of the race track, not a regular site. We had water and electricity, but other sites had sewer. The grounds here are landscaped beautifully. Flies were a problem since a fairground is host to animals at times. We camped at Elkhart County Fairgrounds in a Fifth Wheel.

This is in the heart of Amish country and the RV Industry. Factory tours are available and there is an RV Hall of Fame. Many Amish businesses and restaurants plus the large flea market at nearby Shipshewana offer plenty of things to do.

Narrows Too Camping Resort - Thousand Trails, Trenton, Maine

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $67.00
Overall Rating:

This rate is based on a one month stay locked in a year ahead of visit. Our site is right on the water looking at Mt. Desert Island and Acadia National Park. Beautiful! There is a campground store, building for meetings and activities, nice. The campground offers little for kids other than a nice heated pool. No tents are allowed. Rustic cabins and park models avail. We camped at Narrows Too Camping Resort - Thousand Trails in a Fifth Wheel.

This is near the fairly large city of Ellsworth and a good launching point for trips to Acadia and Bar Harbor. There are plenty of lobster pounds nearby though we cooked our own lobs. Many coastal sights to explore. I recommend Penobscot Bay Bridge Observation Tower and Fort Knox in Bucksport and Bass Harbor Lighthouse.

Hemlock Grove Campground, Arundel, Maine

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $58.00
Overall Rating:

This was our second multi night stay at this campground. It's small but it has a store with souvenirs, some essentials, and a family of friendly staffers. It is in the middle of a string of small towns with plenty of restaurants and nearby beaches. There is no pool but there is a playground and good laundry. We have stayed on both open and wooded sites. We camped at Hemlock Grove Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Promised Land State Park, Greentown, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $51.00
Overall Rating:

This is a pretty park with many sites on a lovely lake. Most sites are high above the water, but we camped near a nice sandy beach with designated swimming area. Some have sewer while others do not. This is a forested park with curving roads though my husband seemed to have no trouble navigating them. We camped at Promised Land State Park in a Fifth Wheel.
