Edisto Beach State Park, Edisto Island, South Carolina

Date of Stay: October, 2014 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

We spent Halloween on the beach tent camping this year - this campground has dunes protecting you from the wind, but you can still hear the waves crashing in the distance it's so close to the beach! Perfect time of year to be here - mild temps and low bug population. Marsh view provided the most spacious site (can't remember the # but it's hard to pick a bad spot here). The dogs loved it and so did we :) We camped at Edisto Beach State Park in a Tent.

Tips for other Campers:

Fish, swim, paddle board, bike ride or hike the boardwalk after a short drive inland, or just walk/run the beaches - or you can just kick back, there's plenty of shade to laze away the day.

Nolichucky Gorge Campground in Cherokee National Forest, Erwin, Tennessee

Date of Stay: September, 2014 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Before school started back, we stayed in the heart of the Applachian Mountains at this truly gorgeous campground right along the Nolichucky River. Our kids were able to swim and fish right out the front door and we're so happy to have found such a lovely place close to home for a mini-vacation. Since it's such an easy drive from Knoxville (only 1.5 hours away!), we plan to return next summer a few more times and we even went whitewater rafting while we were there! The Noli is just a hidden gem for families to get away. (I almost hate to review it and tell others to go since we really loved the low-key, non-crowded facility!) The road was freshly paved and very easy to navigate our RV into the campground and into our slot. We quickly made friends with our neighbors and a few other families there that weekend that had kids the same ages as ours, so they all want to plan a trip together next year! I'm so glad to have found such a wonderful place for quick weekend visits! We camped at Nolichucky Gorge Campground in Cherokee National Forest in a Motorhome.

Horse Creek, Three Rivers, California

Date of Stay: July, 2014 - $12.00
Overall Rating:

We took a road trip this summer for our family vacation and left the camper behind, opting for tents in the mountain air. We loved the Sequoia Forest and cannot wait to return soon. The bear boxes kept food safe and we enjoyed so many day hikes up to the surrounding lakes - absolutely stunning. We camped at Horse Creek in a Tent.
