Twin Grove RV Resort & Cottages, Pine Grove, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

I had a few concerns last time we were here and it seems they were addressed. They moved some cabins and have most of the "4x4" crowd parking away from the campsites. Store has all the basics. Didn't try it but it seems the new onsite eating establishment has good food. As always, place is spotless. Sites are huge. The online reservation system lets you view a map and reserve the site you want. Endless activities. Nice ice cream shop. Band on Saturday. Store closed at 8pm which seemed kind of odd. 2 pools were spotless. Most sites are still in the open sun. All utilities worked great except wifi. While it was free, we couldn't stay on it and when we had full signal, it was useless. 1 very important note.......USE A WATER PRESSURE REGULATOR! The gauge on the regulator was showing 60 lbs. We have seen campers in the past suffer severe damage at this park. We were here in a class c motor home and definitely return. We camped at Twin Grove RV Resort & Cottages in a Motorhome.

Robin Hill Camping Resort, Lenhartsville, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $64.00
Overall Rating:

The price brings the rating down. This is not a luxury resort and not worth $64 a night. Grass was high. Store barely has anything in it. Arcade is full of old games and a few of them don't work. Building behind barn is falling down, hopefully no kids go past the caution tape keeping them out. People drinking and spilling beer IN the pool. A bunch of drunk people drinking and shooting pool in the arcade. My guess would be that this is a weekly occurrence, as the people doing it had golf carts. The staff is friendly and they do have lots of activities. It's close to home so it's a good weekend getaway for us, but we only go here when we have a discount of some sort. There is nothing about this campground that justifies the $64 a night fee. We camped at Robin Hill Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

Jonestown / Hershey NE KOA, Jonestown, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $65.00
Overall Rating:

Not a big park but it is laid out in such a way that it feels a lot bigger than it is. We had water front sites, which are parallel to the creek so it really feels private. Hookups were fine. They run kayak, canoe, and tube rentals from the campground. The store is fantastic. Take out menu with delivery to your site. Nice Ice cream shop. Average prices. Site price was high but it was a Holiday Weekend. No pool but they do have a splash park. WIFI was weak, but free. We will stay here again. We camped at Jonestown / Hershey NE KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

This campground is close to many attractions, including Hershey Park, which they run a shuttle to. The Swatara Creek north or the campground has some rough areas, but, if you know where to take out at, south of the campground is reported as being an easy paddle.

Massey's Landing, Millsboro, Delaware

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

Beautiful location. Everything clean, great staff, plenty to do, good food. New in 2016 and they are still adding more features. Sites are large and almost all of them are level. Great location for day trips or deep sea fishing. Small boat launch at the campground and a full size public boat launch right next door. Great for biking, walking, whatever else you want to do. Onsite snack bar (lots of choices on the menu), ice cream, splash bar, tiki bar on the beach (opening soon), beer and liquor sales. Great for kayaking (rentals available). Check in was fairly quick. Trees are still growing so much of the park doesn't have much shade, but there is always a nice breeze blowing off the bay. Can't wait to go back. We camped at Massey's Landing in a Motorhome.

Appalachian Campsites, Shartlesville, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $60.00
Overall Rating:

Appalachian is close to home and 1 of our 3 go to for a quick weekend. Staff is excellent. Most sites are level, however, there are pretty many pull through sites that are way off level. A lot of seasonals, but all are friendly and their sites are immaculate. Makes for a great walk or bike ride just checking out the landscaping at their sites. Store is average. Nice pond for fishing and a heated pool. Onsite snack bar. There rates are beginning to get very high, but so are most campgrounds in this area. We will be back, hopefully with a discount from somewhere. We camped at Appalachian Campsites in a Motorhome.

Buttonwood Campground, Mifflintown, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $63.00
Overall Rating:

WIFI was very weak, or none existent, which was fine because that means I couldn't do any work. Spotless. Very friendly and helpful staff. Very busy on weekends but the staff handled it in stride and the store had everything you need and plenty of souvenirs. Tubing is available via shuttle from the campground which is great. They also run Juniata River Adventures which offers kayak and canoe rentals and shuttles right from your site and back. All utilities were great except wifi. Plenty of activities for kids. Therre are lots of sites in full sun but our section had mosly shade. We will return again. We camped at Buttonwood Campground in a Motorhome.

Springbrook Family Campground, Catawissa, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

This is a smaller, family campground, so if you are looking for a huge resort type campground, this isn't your place. Grounds were very well kept. Pool was spotless. Our site had a nice cement pad. Store had just the basics. Large game room. Decent amount of activities. Small playground. If you want a place close to Knoebels and don't want a resort to stay at, this is only 15 minutes away. Electric dropped to 108 volts twice in the 4 days we were there, but the temp was in the high 90's so I can hardly blame the campground. It lasted less than an hour each time, so it wasn't a big deal anyway. Water pressure was great and the hookups were placed perfectly. No cable, and TV antenna reception was nonexistent. WiFi worked great 1 minute, and wouldn't connect the next minute. We would stay here again. We camped at Springbrook Family Campground in a Motorhome.

The entrance comes up quick on Rt 42. The short driveway in is kind of narrow, but if no one is coming the other way, it's no problem at all.

Foxwood Family Campground, East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

This is a hard review to make. While our site and hookups were excellent, and the grass and weeds in our area was neatly cut, The area by the store and game room was very overgrown. From our arrival...we checked in, they gave us a paper with our site # and map. There were 2 site numbers crossed out on the paper, and the 3rd didn't match the # on the map. We were with friends and requested sites close to them. Shouldn't be a problem, the RV sites don't fill up. Went to our site, we were 4 sites from our friends. Plenty of open spots. Called the office and asked if we can move to ff11. No problem. Figured out how to level and the site had perfect afternoon shade thanx to 2 trees. Most sites in this section have sun all day. Friday night, someone was partying till at least 4am, including chopping wood throughout the night. My wife asked about it Saturday, and she was told yea, they were up till 5am. You knew and didn't do anything? It was a Holiday weekend so the tent sites and cabins were full. The staff allows drinking anywhere. In the gameroom, there was a bottle of whiskey being passed around the pool table. On the fire truck ride, a whole group came on bringing bottles, and there was even a guy hanging of the back who looked like he had no idea where he was. Pool was too crowded for comfort. Weeds and trash around the office was terrible. Game room and office had switches and receptacles hanging out of the wall. For the good points....lots of activities, staff was friendly, and the fireworks display was impressive for this campground. Store had the basics. Sites in the field section are huge. They could use more stone but they aren't bad. Would we camp here again? Probably not. ATT data and phone worked great. No wifi available anywhere in the campground. We camped at Foxwood Family Campground in a Motorhome.

It's The Poconos, and knowing the area, I would head out and explore the area. Plenty of things to do, unless you like sitting at your RV all day.

Beachcomber Camping Resort, Cape May, New Jersey

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Yes, some of the roads and sites are tight to get into. We had a 31' class C with a toad and had no trouble, and we were in the back section. Tip...in that section, the number signs pull out of the ground to make it easier. As far as the kids driving golf carts, no more than anywhere else. That's it for the "bad", if you want to call it that.

The place is awesome. The sites in the back section are huge and wooded. Super clean, staff and seasonals very friendly. They cater to everyone, not just their seasonals. The pictures on their website doesn't do them justice. The beach area is huge. Kayak/canoe rentals are very reasonably priced. Lots to do at the campground, but lots of attractions a few minutes away also. Store has the essentials, but not many souvenirs, which was kind of a disappointment. Nice snack bar and ice cream shop on the beach. Plenty of parking near the pool/beach area, but it was nice renting a golf cart. We camped at Beachcomber Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

Otter Lake Camp Resort, East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

As always, a very enjoyable trip. Road to the campground can be adventoureous, but take your time and its no problem. Probably the best campground wifi I've ever seen, and it's free. Lots of activities and the store has all the basics and more. Excellent bike riding. We have kayaks now, so we can't wait till our next trip there.
