LoW-Hi RV Ranch, Deming, New Mexico

Date of Stay: December, 2016 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

All utilities were good, except WiFi, which was erratic like 9 out of 10 places we stay. Beautiful mountains, lovely and quirky landscaping and the most fun we have had at an RV park in a week, ever. We went to morning coffee (7AM- 9AM) at 8AM. Every Tuesday a group goes down to Palomas, Mexico to the Pink Store for lunch and shopping. The food was very good, the Margaritas excellent and only $3.50, but the company was the best. Although we were not members of LoW-Hi (a singles camping group) we were welcome. We will be going back in the spring for more good times.

Nice and level with a tree and some landscaping between. Good views of the Floridas. We camped at LoW-Hi RV Ranch in a Fifth Wheel.

Ajo Heights RV Park, Ajo, Arizona

Date of Stay: January, 2016 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

Can an RV park be perfect? I didn't think so, but this one was for us. The set up to the park was great, big sites, concrete patios, no one behind you, lovely desert landscaping and carefully maintained gravel in two colors. Just across the street was Olson's grocery, which was SO convenient. There is open desert out back to walk (with or without dogs) and sidewalks all the way into town (2 miles ?). Beautiful mountains all around and suharos. We also loved the town and the area. We camped at Ajo Heights RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Cabeza Prieta has great programs every month. The farmers market and craft show combine once a month in the plaza. Organ Pipe National Monument has a lot to offer and on the way eat at Grammy's in Why.

Price change from website. Rude owner. Poor WiFi. Sites too close together. Rules not enforced. We camped at High Desert RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Hidden Valley Ranch, Deming, New Mexico

Date of Stay: November, 2015 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Beautful, quiet, nice big spaces, well landscaped. The dirt road in was not a problem, we just went VERY slowly with the 5th wheel hooked up, but with just the truck, we went 35 and it was a short hop to town. We did have to pay $2.00/day for WiFi but it was totally worth it. The one day it didn't work was a terrible storm and we weren't charged. There was a lovely walk up the hill behind the campground with great views. The ranch had a lot of animals - horses (who like carrots) and a flock og Guinea hens. We camped at Hidden Valley Ranch in a Fifth Wheel.

Desert Trails RV Park (40+ park), Tucson, Arizona

Date of Stay: January, 2015 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

For many people this park is definitely a 10. For me the very tight sites brought it down to a 7. I just don't like being 18"away from the RV behind me and quite close to the 2 on either side. That said, walking trails in the desert with saguaro cacti all around were wonderful, the dog parks were great and everyone was friendly. Price by week. We camped at Desert Trails RV Park (40+ park) in a Fifth Wheel.

Tombstone RV Park and Campground, Tombstone, Arizona

Date of Stay: December, 2014 - $11.00
Overall Rating:

The new owner is doing a terrific job. He is extremely helpful and friendly. The campground has great gravel on roads and sites. Sites are a comfortable size with longer sites for extra big RVs. New fences with little solar lights between sites make the campground look snug and welcoming at night.

There are several trails out back, great for walking or horses. also, a nice graveled dog run.

The bathrooms were reasonably clean, but new cleaners were coming on and I think there will be a big improvement. There do need to be a few more rules concerning what is allowable on sites. But, all in all, we really enjoyed this campground with friendly people and a great Christmas dinner. We camped at Tombstone RV Park and Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Kiva RV Park and Horse Motel, Bernardo, New Mexico

Date of Stay: November, 2014 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

This was our first snowbird campground and after 5 others it is still our favorite. The spaces were extremely well set up - wide roads in between, and all angled pullthroughs. Everyone had a view of mountains, instead of just the big RV beside you and between each site was a small island of shrubs or low trees.

The women's bathroom was spotless, although the shower room needed updating it was well laid out and again spotless

The owner, managers, and work campers were friendly and provided excellent service.

Every morning at 8:00 AM there was free coffee and it was a great place for an early rising husband to go socialize.

Rate cite was for a monthly rate.. We camped at Kiva RV Park and Horse Motel in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Shopping is a bit of a distance, come well stocked. However, people frequently announce when they are going and will pick up odds and ends.
