Sioux City North KOA, North Sioux City, South Dakota

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice park. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Lots of amenities including pool, mini golf, and kids games. Some spots were a little tight, but was able to get my 42 footer in just fine. Very clean. We camped at Sioux City North KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Camp Dick (USFS), Ward, Colorado

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Lucked into this campground when we planned a last minute trip. About an hour away from Rocky Mountain National Park. Campground is situated in a beautiful valley. No hookups and cannot accommodate large RVs. (Narrow roads) Campground is popular, but we were able to come in early on a Sunday and get a first come first serve spot. Restrooms are pit toilets, but they are and I am not kidding, the cleanest campground restrooms i have ever seen! Hiking trails near campground in Roosevelt National Forest. Beautiful scenery and great place for spotting moose. Even had one walk through our campsite. We camped at Camp Dick (USFS) in a Tent Trailer.

Spearfish City Campground, Spearfish, South Dakota

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Beautiful campground in the city of Spearfish. Right across the road from the DC Booth Historical Fish Hatchery, a very nice (and free) attraction. This would be a great campground for tents, there are wide open grassy areas for tents. The RV spots are nice, but they are close together. Showers and restrooms have a code to get in and are very clean. The grounds are immaculately kept and the creek that runs through the campground provides nice background noise. Great bike and walking path all the way through the city of Spearfish. We camped at Spearfish City Campground in a Tent Trailer.

Sand Dunes Swimming Pool & RV Park, Hooper, Colorado

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Many campgrounds near the Great Sand Dunes fill up in June, so we ended up here. The main attraction is a pool naturally heated by underground artesian well. Kids loved the pool, but after a long hot day at the sand dunes the hot pool water was not comfortable. All of the water in the park comes from the heated well so there is no cold water. We were sunburnt and just wanted cool showers but were out of luck. This would be a great cool weather destination, but not recommended for summer. There is also only 2 bathroom/showers. We had to get there early or wait for a long time for showers. In the evenings you might as well go to the pool area to go to the restroom because of people in the showers. There is no separate restroom. All in all a good place to stay for visiting the sand dunes. We camped at Sand Dunes Swimming Pool & RV Park in a Tent Trailer.

Mueller State Park, Divide, Colorado

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This is our favorite park that we have ever stayed in. Beautiful views of Pikes Peak, lots of tall trees. Nice hiking trails too. We were here in June so part of the park was closed due to elk calving. We were kind of exited about this but disappointed we never saw any elk at all. Great home base for visits to Colorado Springs, Manitou Springs, and Cripple Creek. Facilities were very clean. Loved this park. We camped at Mueller State Park in a Tent Trailer.

Was very surprised at the amazing view at this park. Very close to Royal Gorge bridge and park. Showers and restrooms very clean.
