Raleigh Oaks RV Resort, Four Oaks, North Carolina

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

While this is an I95 park...it has wonderful facilities and has become a weekend/vacation destination and has a number of long term residents now compared to when it first opened. Everything is super clean and well maintained. A second swimming pool, hot tub and two nite lit pickleball courts have been added...but they still serve morning waffles and have a once a week $3 buck dinner. Wifi & cable work great. Indoor pool tables room, fitness center & lounge. Big Flea market nearby and Carolina Premium Outlets within 10 miles. Super nice, hard working staff/owners. We camped at Raleigh Oaks RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Point South / Yemassee KOA, Yemassee, South Carolina

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $60.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here a couple of years ago when they had just won their "best kampground" award and they have maintained their dedication to customer service and cleanliness. I do think their bathroom facilities need an upgrade...while clean...they are showing their age compared to a lot of other parks...and they offer limited shower facilities. The pizza & cafe/winery is still a nice place to hang out a bit. My major problem now is the price ...this is a very good but not great park that is priced over the market especially for a non tourist interstate type location. Wifi/cable worked fine but slowly in this nearly full park. We'll probably be back for the convenience in our travels. We camped at Point South / Yemassee KOA in a Motorhome.

Lazy Acres Campground, Fayetteville, North Carolina

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

Just a nice smallish place to stay overnight as you head along I95 which is just a couple of minutes away. Bathrooms are clean and newish... sites are grass and sandy gravel and not all dead flat but we leveled out just fine. Wifi and cable TV worked fine. Friendly welcome, escort to site and a nicely wooded site with patio and slab. Catch and release lake with no license needed if you want to try your hand at some big bass! We camped at Lazy Acres Campground in a Motorhome.

Coastal Georgia RV Resort, Brunswick, Georgia

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

I don't give a lot of 10's out... but for the I95 traveler this park is great. We just overnighted but the place is new and squeaky clean with near perfect pull through sites and good wifi and cable. The restrooms/showers are immaculate. It would also be a great place to stage for day trips to Brunswick, St. Simons, and Jekyll islands & beaches. If you like campfires & woods...this is not the place... but if you're headed down I95...this place is an Oasis that stands above most of the other parks that are close enough for overnight stops. We camped at Coastal Georgia RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Sun-N-Fun RV Resort, Sarasota, Florida

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $60.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed for a month in peak season. This is a snowbird park more than a transient park with lots of park homes as well as a huge number of RV slots. The size of this park is overwhelming...but that is what allows the offering of such tremendous facilities and planned activites almost every minute. If you are a pickleball player...this is Nirvana. I've been to a lot of fine parks...some with bigger, more luxurious sites..or more pristine bathrooms (barely)...but nothing I've seen compares with the facilities or the friendliness of the resident snowbirds. We've already put in our reservation for next year...and the park is already 85% full! Put your reservation in early if you want a longer stay. Only downside for me was that the free wifi sucked most of the time...get plenty of cell data! We camped at Sun-N-Fun RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Try Detweillers produce market instead of the chain grocers...it is a full market run by locals and you'll find fresh meat, seafood, amish baked goods, cheeses, italian sausage and pasta and complete deli. Everything else you need is just a couple of miles west on Fruitville Road. Try PolloTropicale for Cuban/Carribean fresh roasted fast food chicken and specialties with a variety of sauces. By Publix.

Niagara Falls KOA, Niagara Falls, Ontario

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $54.00
Overall Rating:

One of our very favorite parks. Price reflects 20% discount for US$$ and 10% KOA member discount. Site was pull through flat gravel and we didn't have to put levelers down Park is excellent facility wise with the exception of cable but we could get some OTA stations. Wifi worked well. Bathrooms exceptional. Of course we weren't much interested in the park...but in seeing the falls etc. and the WeGo bus stops right in front of the campground and takes you all over. Desk sells 48 hour pass for $10 Canadian. Staff is exceptional on greeting/welcome...but when I lost my Smart Phone on the bus...and had no way to communicate...they took over, tracked down my phone and had it returned on the bus to the park. Exceptional. The Canadian side is the best side we are convinced...and we will return again. We camped at Niagara Falls KOA in a Motorhome.

Did the Hornblower Boat tour under the falls and the big Ferris wheel overlooking the falls. Recommend both. DocMcGilligans Irish Pub in the Best Western is excellent and a good value.

Sterling State Park, Monroe, Michigan

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

Used the park for a one nite stay to be convenient to Dearborne and the Ford & Greenfield Village. Worked out well. We were pleasantly surprised at the care and site maintenance in the RV section and the beautiful views of lake Erie. Our pull thru gravel site was level and utilities were fine. Bring your own data! As out of staters we might have been charge the additional $8 entrance fee but we were told this was being waived for single night stays. We would stay here again short term. We camped at Sterling State Park in a Motorhome.

South Bend / Elkhart North KOA, Granger, Indiana

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $54.00
Overall Rating:

This is just a quick update from our most recent visit in September. We still love this park but unfortunately booked during a Notre Dame home game. The park understandably was jam packed, noisier and full of smoke from all the campfires which make sleeping difficult. The other days of our stay were fine...but this is just a heads up to check the ND home game schedule before you book! We camped at South Bend / Elkhart North KOA in a Motorhome.

Hideaway RV Park, Grass Lake, Michigan

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Just stayed overnite at this small park en route elsewhere but we were glad we did. Sited on a small lake this looks to be mostly a seasonal place with lake swimming. The did everything we cared about right from laundry to restrooms to wifi to a nice site. Excellent value. We camped at Hideaway RV Park in a Motorhome.

Milton KOA, Milton, Wisconsin

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

Just stayed here for the night and this is a more family/kids oriented park than transient so if you have family camping plans, you'll probably like it more than I did. With the park relatively empty on a weekday, we got slotted in the back of the park in a back in site that bottomed out my motorcycle carrier as we tried to back in. Leveling was also a challenge but we finally found the "right" spot. Facilities were great and spotless wifi was surprisingly weak given the size of the campground and lack of tenants. I would not spend the $$ to come here again unless I were looking for a kids oriented stay. We camped at Milton KOA in a Motorhome.

Sault Ste. Marie KOA, Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

As others have said...a truly superior campground in every regard and convenient to all of the "Soo". Price is C$ less 20% for US. We stayed 3 nights in record downpours and still the site and campground was reasonably navigable due to the efforts of the staff. The only thing I can think to complain about is Canadian Cable TV...the channels suck! It is easy to see why this place wins so many awards. Next time...I think I'll stay south of the locks on the US side because it seems there is more to do...but you can't go wrong at this campground. We camped at Sault Ste. Marie KOA in a Motorhome.

Tranquil Timbers Camping Resort, Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

Just an average park but we were only staying for the night so no big deal. Wifi Very Spotty Tengo...limited OTA channels. Site was flat & water & electric were fine. Mostly a seasonal park and mostly empty when we were there...Kind of dilapadated. Can't think of a reason to go back except that it is convenient to Sturgeon Bay. Egg Harbor Campground & RV Resort, Egg Harbor, Wisconsin

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here two nights to explore the area and enjoyed our deeply wooded but level site. If you need satellite access you'll want one of the new sites from 42 to 50 ..otherwise the woods are nice. Office is accomodating, bath & showers are reasonably clean. Central to everything from Sturgeon Bay to Egg Harbor to Sisters Bay...this is a good park to lay down in for an extended stay. We camped at Egg Harbor Campground & RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Glen Rouge Campground, Toronto, Ontario

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

We had a 30 amp site for a couple of nights while we explored Toronto. I really like the setting of this campground and the sites were level. Bathrooms were clean...showers not so much. This is THE park to be at to explore Toronto as others have said and we second the advice to get a GO train ticket into town. Much easier than trying to negotiate the interconnecting buses. Plenty of parking at the station about 2 miles away. Lack of amenities keeps me from rating this park higher but we would come here again if visiting the city. We camped at Glen Rouge Campground in a Motorhome.

Hy-Land Court RV Park, Ellison Bay, Wisconsin

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed four nites in the heavily wooded section in FHU with cable. Cable was spotty but service and site and bathrooms were great and the location is close to everything you might wish to see or do on the top half of the penninsula. Note...cash/check only. Bathrooms are dated but clean and showers are cobbled together and wonderful! One of our favorite parks...we will return, for longer. We camped at Hy-Land Court RV Park in a Motorhome.
