Branch Brook Campground, Thomaston, Connecticut

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $46.00
Overall Rating:

Hard to find the park with narrow steep interior gravel roads. Primarily permanent people and no upkeep on the park. Buildings are in need of repairs and park is weed infested. I assume they are the only park in the area. Would not stay there again. We camped at Branch Brook Campground in a Travel Trailer.

One night stay and not much to do in town. After 3 weeks of travel this park was the most expensive and an eye sore

Hadley's Point Campground, Bar Harbor, Maine

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Facility has all gravel and dirt spaces that are very tight and narrow roads. Most sights are in a field with no sewers and are not level. There is a free bus to Bar Harbor. Did not stay at other parks so I can not compare any parks. No sewers and "honey wagon" charge was $12.00 each time . Showers 50 cents for 7 minutes. We camped at Hadley's Point Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Fransted Family Campground, Franconia, New Hampshire

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $49.00
Overall Rating:

Overpriced , but this seems to be the custom in the east. Campground was very nice and would stay there again. This looks like a family campground that has a running creek that kids can get an inner tube and safely float the creek. Its for young children and water is about 2' deep. We camped at Fransted Family Campground in a Travel Trailer.

If you are near the road it gets noisy in the mornings. We always take a box fan to cover the noise.

Tips for other Campers:

...Tour Maple Syrup plant and Ben and Jerry's ice cream factory. Strange as it may seem their is a unique cemetery in town that has some granite tomb stones that cost 500,000.

Actually not much going on in the area.

Main Street Casino, Las Vegas, Nevada

Date of Stay: May, 2015 - $17.00
Overall Rating:

Park is a concrete parking lot with electric and sewers. Excellent location to downtown Las Vegas (safe 2 block walk) You have to check in at the motel and this is tricky. Park your rig at the RV

lot and walk to the main entrance to the motel for check in. Lot of traffic in the area. I gave the RV park a 10 because of the location and price. Las Vegas is for gambling and the RV parks are not for "family fun". We camped at Main Street Casino in a Travel Trailer.

Trailer Village (Concessionnaire Operated), Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona

Date of Stay: May, 2015 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Paved, immaculate. Can park your rig and walk to free buses to the park. Beautiful setting with yearling Elk eating throughout the park. One of the best parks we have stayed in. Spent 4 days there and left too soon. We camped at Trailer Village (Concessionnaire Operated) in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Buses go to all part of parks and run every 15 minutes. Great hiking or bike riding as cars are limited to certain areas of park. Park could be dangerous to young children or ignorant adults., especially at the canyon rim. Beautiful park and great NPS staff.

Prices in town such as gas was 25% higher at the only station in town, case of water was 17.99 (normally 3.99) Buy gas before that town.
