Baywood Campground, Gulfport, Mississippi

Date of Stay: January, 2015
Overall Rating:

Old but fairly maintained park, uneven and tight spots. Many full-time residents. The "fishing pond" advertised is populated by alligators, snakes and snapping turtles; also hard to get to without walking through occupied campsites. Only one working shower on the women's side. We booked for two weeks and regretted it almost immediately. The park is directly behind a grocery, CVS and lots of fast food restaurants resulting in lots of noise and traffic. More pet-tolerant than pet-friendly..not much green space for walking a pet. The management seemed harried but capable. Friendly people were few; we stayed the full two weeks and our neighbors on both sides never even said "Hello". We won't be back. We camped at Baywood Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

There is a very nice dog park in Biloxi, and Jones Park doesn't mind dogs on the beach.
