OK RV Park, Holbrook, Arizona

Date of Stay: December, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Easy to get to from I-40. Long pull through site allowed us to keep our car connected to our 40ft MH, but it was a very narrow site. This was not an issue as there were only 6-10 other campers in this very large park and they were scattered. Water/sewer/power were all good. Wi-Fi was also good. Everything is gravel, and close to level. Staff was friendly. We stopped for one night. Would consider staying here again. We camped at OK RV Park in a Motorhome.

Santa Rosa Campground & RV Park, Santa Rosa, New Mexico

Date of Stay: December, 2017 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

We stopped for one night. 50 amp pull through site was long enough for our 40ft MH and car. Did not need to unhook car. Site was level gravel. Water/sewer and power all worked well. Wi-Fi was also good. We like to stop here as there is an on-site restaurant (delivery to MH available). They have good BBQ (brisket is very good). Service was good. We will stay here again when in the area. We camped at Santa Rosa Campground & RV Park in a Motorhome.

The Evergreen Inn Motel & RV Park, Pratt, Kansas

Date of Stay: December, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

We have a 40 ft MH pulling a car. Check in was easy/fast. Pull through sites are very large (wide/deep). As mentioned in other reviews, all gravel but level. We were only stopping for the night so we did not hook up water/sewer. 50 amp power was good. Wi-Fi was good (only 6 campers in park). We would stop here again. We camped at The Evergreen Inn Motel & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Don Laughlin's Riverside Resort RV Park, Laughlin, Nevada

Date of Stay: January, 2017 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

This is a large park and our review may not be reflective of the whole park. When we arrived, they discovered that they reserved the wrong spot for us (30 AMP vs 50 AMP). After some time, they found another. When we got to our spot, our first impression was bad. Our (long term) neighbors had vehicles parked on half of our spot. There were baggies of dog poo laying on our spot. Plus plenty of dog poo on the ground. Our spot had large potholes in the gravel. Our neighbors told us that the last couple left all the dog poo, yet as the week went on, we watched our neighbors leave their dog waste where ever it was dropped. We were also told by our neighbors that everyone uses half their spot and the North half of their neighbors spot. So we parked our car in the North half of our other neighbors spot. Our spot was almost level. You can use the hotel pool, but it's a long walk. We will not stay here again. We camped at Don Laughlin's Riverside Resort RV Park in a Motorhome.

The casino runs a free 24hr shuttle from the RV park to the casino. There is a movie theater, bowling alley, car museum, etc. in the casino. Lots to do beyond gambling!

Meteor Crater RV Park, Winslow, Arizona

Date of Stay: December, 2016 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

Park is easy on/off from I-40. Big parking lot for check-in. Park is gated (gate is not real wide) and the office closes at 7:30 PM. Once checked in, you get a gate code to use as needed. Our spot (#59) was wide, with trees between spots. We had a clear view of the West, very nice. You can see interstate traffic but we did not hear it. We would stay here again. We camped at Meteor Crater RV Park in a Motorhome.

High Desert RV Park, Albuquerque, New Mexico

Date of Stay: December, 2016 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

High Desert is right off I-40. Easy on/off. Interior roads are paved. Lots of room to maneuver. Office staff was excellent. She handles office and propane fills. There was a maintenance worker cleaning up weeds, etc. Another was painting one of the buildings. You can tell this place is taken care of. Power poles at each site are lighted. We had to unhook our dinghy but there was plenty of room to park next to our motorhome. For the price we were very happy at High Desert. We camped at High Desert RV Park in a Motorhome.

Oasis RV Park , South Haven, Kansas

Date of Stay: December, 2016 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This park has one main attraction, it's close to I-35, easy on/off. No bathrooms, no showers, no Wi-Fi. And since it's Winter, no water at the camp spots. Water was available at a hydrant if needed. Office is not staffed until 5:00 PM. Sign in the office says to pick a spot. Watch out, some of the spots have serious potholes. But the nightly rate is too much for so little. $39 with no discount, $35 with Good Sam. This will be out last stay at this park. We camped at Oasis RV Park in a Motorhome.

Griff's Valley View RV Park & Campground, Altoona, Iowa

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $19.00
Overall Rating:

Rate is based on weekly rate. Improvements in the park continue. Almost all spots are now concrete. Spots are spacious and level. We look forwar to staying here every year. Two clubhouses, a nice pond to walk around, etc. Our only knock on this park is the wi-fi. It's not free but we still did not use it as the wi-fi signal was too weak for us to even get a connection. We camped at Griff's Valley View RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Chapman Creek RV Park, Chapman, Kansas

Date of Stay: March, 2016 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Park is right off I-40, easy on/off. Pull through sites have some slope so I'm guessing these sites are better suited for 5th wheels than for motorhomes. There are two parallel pull through sites which are close to level. Backin sites look level. Staff is very helpful. Hookups/Wi-fi worked well. We camped here in a motorhome (in a parallel pull through) spot. We camped at Chapman Creek RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Newer park, all gravel. 1/4 mile off highway. Easy in/out. Huge level spots (30' wide/75' long). Left toad connected to rig overnight. We were told to pick any spot after checkin. Hookups worked great. Wi-fi worked great. Staff very helpful. We camped at Western Star RV Ranch in a Motorhome.

On park info sheet it states: "this is an overnight park, not a permanent residence". First park we have been at for a while where the long term/perms did not outnumber the overnighters.

USA RV Park, Gallup, New Mexico

Overall Rating:

Base rate is $31.95. 50 amp surcharge is $2. Cable TV surcharge is $2 (approx 58 channels). Good Sam discount of $3.20.
Spots are gravel and very level. Easy in/out, close to I-40.
Pull through spots are long enough that we left our toad attached overnight. Quite a few long term campers but no issues. Staff was very helpful.
Good overnight stop. We have stayed here in the past and will do so in the future. We camped at USA RV Park in a Motorhome.

Desert Vista RV Resort (55+ park), Mesa, Arizona

Date of Stay: March, 2016 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Spaces are larger than most in Mesa. You park on a concrete pad. Park is well kept. Our concerns centered around the park rules. Most rules are ignored by full time residents (about 25% of total spots), thus the others also seem to ignore the rules as well. Examples: walking through occupied spots, no more than 2 (small/medium) dogs per camp site, no bird feeders (other than hummingbird). We saw a full timer with 4 dogs, we saw an Alaskan Malamute (small dog?), the office has bird feeders (thus bird poop on our cars parked under the tree). The pool access is another area of concern. To save money on propane the (supposedly heated) pool is now only open when the air temp is above 72 and then only during the hours of Noon to 5:00 PM. Some days we saw the pool open late at night, other days, it was too cold to use. The hot tub was nice. If this park gets a management team that will follow/enforce the rules, this would be a nice park. Park was working on setting up security cameras as there was some theft recently in the park. This park caters primarily to full time/long term residents. There are a few planned/scheduled activities. The clubhouse has free WiFi. Tengo WiFi is available for purchase. Would recommend not to use Tengo at this park. It is slow. We paid for Tengo but ended up going to the clubhouse with a laptop everyday due to slow Tengo speed. We camped at Desert Vista RV Resort (55+ park) in a Motorhome.

Griff's Valley View RV Park & Campground, Altoona, Iowa

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

A hidden gem in the Des Moines area. Most interior roads paved. Most spots concrete (120 out of 142). Two beautiful clubhouses with immaculate bathrooms, showers and laundry facilities. Also has kitchen/large room facilities for gatherings. Pond w/walking trail around it. Park is well maintained. No free wi-fi but good wi-fi service is available for a nominal fee (I picked 3 days for $8.95 - 6 gig limit). Wi-fi was fast. Almost better to pay a small fee instead of frustration of slow/no service for free. A brand new paved bike trail (old railroad line) is right next to the park. Pull thru's and back in spots. Lots of room between campers. No fire rings nor picnic tables. Each spot does have a metal pole that allows you to mount a satellite dish without need for a stand. We will stay here again when in the area. We camped at Griff's Valley View RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Easy on/off I-40 on east side of Amarillo. Good overnight stop. Spots are level. Water/sewer/50 amp/cable working as described. Good strong Wi-Fi signal. Many long term campers here but all that we met were nice. We have stayed here before and continue to enjoy staying here for the price/service. We camped at Overnite RV Park in a Motorhome.

Sky City RV Park, Acoma, New Mexico

Date of Stay: March, 2015 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

Make sure to mention the billboard ad with the $18 price, otherwise the price is $22. Once you leave the interstate, you are directed (with signage) to the hotel/casino to register for the RV park. Unfortunately, they do not tell you where to park. We roamed around the gas station across the street until a spot was found. You also pay a refundable $8 for the key that unlocks the power station at your site. No water was available at the sites as they had not turned it on yet for spring. There is a water hydrant at the entrance to the RV part where you can pick up water. Wi-Fi network was unusable. Signal was so weak, the network would drop from the list of available Wi-Fi networks before we could enter the assigned password. If they spent a little money, this could be a nice park. We won't stay here again. We camped at Sky City RV Park in a Motorhome.
